"You know, I can still feel the awkwardness between us. How many tis do I have to say that I am over the past?" Aurora asked as they took a calm ride back to Vincent’s ho on the horse he had been given. Vincent had an arm around her waist to keep her from falling off but he had not spoken a word from the mont he helped her get on the horse. "Perhaps, are you still surprised by this?"
"Yes. I thought you wouldn’t be able to rember the past any ti soon. You should have told you were hurting."
"Were you going to ignore the vampires if I told you?" She turned her head to the side to get a look at him.
"I would have ordered more guards to be around you. I should have known soone would take the chance to go at you while I was gone. That was my mistake. I am sorry," he apologized. Sothing bad could have happened to her and Cherry had she not regained her mories and tricks. He would never be able to forgive himself if he lost her again.
"I can’t be glued to your hip forever and I don’t want to be heavily guarded where soone is constantly watching over my shoulder. Don’t feel like what happened tonight is your fault. You are the leader of these people here and when it’s ti for you to protect them, I don’t want you having to worry about where I am. I can protect myself. Well, now I can," she said because when she recently arrived, she was only able to ss around with plants.
"Please don’t go running into danger because you know you can protect yourself. There are days that your opponents can surprise you. It has happened to many tis. Therefore, even though I know you can protect yourself, I feel the need to be right there also looking over you. It doesn’t an I don’t think you can protect yourself but I need to be safe and watch out for you so my mind can be at peace."
Aurora knew it ca as a habit from the loss of his parents. He might feel like he had to keep an eye on the people he cared about or have them heavily protected so no one could take them away from him. The man many people believe had a cold heart had one full of worry for the people around him. It might look like the things in his life had not affected him but once you got close to him, you would see that he was hurting from the people he lost.
"I promise I won’t go running into danger. You gave your mother’s necklace to and that was the only reason I did not want to leave back there right away. The first night you gave it to should not be the night I lost it. You didn’t give it in the past so it’s special that I hold onto it. Vincent, do you love the Aurora you saved recently or the old one?" Aurora asked because for the many tis she was with him in the past he had never shown her his mother’s necklace.
Did he prefer the shy Aurora or the one who was bold?
"I love Aurora. You have always been the sa in my eyes." If they weren’t on the horse and if she would allow him to, he would kiss her right here, right now. However, he knew they needed to have a talk about the relationship they had. Were they going to pick up where they left off or is everything good as it is now?
"Such a charr. Although I have promised not to run into danger, I still have to get back at that family. I went there to help a friend and her family exploited my kindness for years. I am not a person to let things go and I hope you won’t stop . I will deal with Minnie and her family by myself." Aurora had a fire burning inside her to watch the downfall of Minnie.
It agitated her how the woman pretended to be a loving friend and grandmother at different tis when she was doing evil things behind closed doors. Aurora figured Minnie had pretended she was her granddaughter from her son’s mistress from the guilt of betraying Aurora.
Aurora had wanted to care for Minnie in the beginning because she was Esralda Hamilton’s daughter but the woman grew to be nothing like her mother. Maybe it was due to Esralda dying when Minnie was so young that Minnie beca like Esralda’s father and husband who were both cruel to her.
Esralda’s father was the first one to take Aurora to the cave and have a witch stop her heart from beating for a mont to cast the spell on Aurora to forget who she was. That day, Aurora received news that Esralda had been hurt and went to help her. It was all a lie made by Esralda’s father who had killed his own daughter because she wanted to warn Aurora about what her family planned to do.
Aurora still cared for Esralda who didn’t an for this to happen and now she also cared for Regina. Aurora didn’t care for Samuel because he reminded her of Minnie. Samuel cared more for wealth and power than the well-being of soone he called family.
"Okay," Vincent replied as he knew he couldn’t hold Aurora back from getting her revenge on the people who used, lied, and tornted her for years. If she needed anyone’s help, he would always be right by her side. "We’re ho," he said when they reached his ho in the center of the community.
Vincent got off of the horse first and then helped Aurora down. "You can go inside ahead of . I have to tie the horse up since it’s late and everyone has gone ho."
Aurora nodded and walked up to the house which had a different effect on her now that her mories were back. She missed this house now that she rembered the many fun things she did here. This was the second place she had ever called ho. She entered the house almost tearing up because of how much she started to miss the past. She missed so many years of being around people who truly cared for her.
Aurora went to the dining room where the mory of Vincent first telling her that he loved her was fresh in her mind. She would have never imagined that two people who hated each other when they first t would be standing in this very room confessing their love to each other. She rembered trying to kill him at one point in ti because she found him to be annoying.
"What are you looking at?" Vincent asked after he ca in and found her standing in the dining room. He didn’t miss the tiny smile on her face as she looked around the room.
"Rembering the first ti you told you loved . Your face was so dead serious that I thought it was a joke at first. I thought you were just going to tease but then you proved wrong. I am also thinking about the many fights we had before becoming friends and then lovers. The two of us would be able to destroy a building with our fights. I rember how often we made Artemis angry with our argunt," she chuckled.
"If we didn’t kill each other I was certain Artemis would have killed us. The woman has such a short temper but my sources tell she has been with a human man for a few days. Maybe her temper has changed."
Aurora’s eyes almost bulged out her head upon hearing it was with a human man when she always spoke of how much she hated humans. "Are you certain your source has brought you the right information? Why would Artemis be with a human male?"
Vincent shrugged his shoulders unsure as to why Artemis had a human with her. "We’ll have to wait and see what it is she plans to do. I doubt she has fallen for the human because she is... well... Artemis," he concluded. The woman didn’t seem like the type to have that emotion after what happened to her in the past.
"I am in disbelief and confused by this news. I will have to speak to her soon to know what she is doing and to let her know that I am back to normal although I have a feeling she already knows. It’s unfortunate that Victor’s party ended before it could even start. I wanted to celebrate and have fun with all of you," she said as she ran her hands along the top of the dining room chairs as she walked towards Vincent.
"You can hold the dinner party you wanted to have. Invite whoever you want and have fun," Vincent said as he watched her every movent.
Aurora ca close to Vincent where they were almost touching each other. "I should," she whispered, placing her hands on each side of Vincent’s face. "Do you mind if I..." she trailed off as Vincent took the initiative to kiss her.
