"Why the hell are all of you with the exception of Mari and Aurora still in my ho? Victor and Cherry, you two were supposed to be leaving together. And you," Vincent pointed at the married couple and their newfound children. "Should not have the children out like this when everyone wants to get a glance at them like they are animals."
"Who on earth made you the children’s expert Vincent? Like you weren’t trying to kill them a few days ago and now that they are saved you are acting as if you care. All you want to do is look good in front of Aurora now after-Hey!" Derek exclaid ducking from one of the decorative stones Vincent threw at him. "What is wrong with you? Were you not taught to not throw things? I’m not going to be bringing the girls around you."
"Good. I’m not a fan of children," Vincent folded his arms looking down at the smaller human who kept smiling at him like he was the most interesting thing in the world. One shift into the alpha would have her changing her mind.
"It’s not hard for anyone to tell my brother. Aurora, what do you think about children?" Victor asked
Aurora, who had settled herself to play with Abigail on the floor, looked up at Victor. "I love them. Why?"
Derek snickered, enjoying her reply, and said, "That ans the two of you aren’t compatible. Give up Vincent. I swear if you throw sothing else at -Jane!" He stepped behind his wife knowing Vincent wouldn’t throw anything at her.
"How brave of you," Jane shook her head at Derek and Vincent. Both of them were so childish at tis. "I don’t plan on staying anywhere I am not needed and it’s ti we take them back to get a bath and sothing to eat. I will return when they have settled in. Thank you, Aurora for everything you have done. I will bring them to see you soon and our door is always open to you."
"You. Just you and not the brute there," Derek had enough of seeing Vincent at work, the last thing he wanted to do was see the man at his ho too.
"But I won’t be going anywhere without Vincent but thank you," Aurora accepted the invitation.
Vincent slightly smiled because of what Aurora said. Of course, you couldn’t invite her and not expect to see him right beside her unless she was going to so sort of ladies’ event.
"Brother, I can see you smiling. Good to see that you’re whipped again."
"I have so literal whips in my stores that you can get if you’re really in that kind of thing..." Cherry trailed off.
Vincent’s lip trembled in need of cursing them all but there were children here and with Aurora here he was positive she would scold him for cursing. "Get out of my house right now or I will place everyone still here to be a night guard at the gates. For a week."
"Don’t have to tell twice," Derek picked up Tara ready to go now that Vincent was planning on handing out work. He already had the punishnt of helping to build the new gates and wasn’t looking to add on anything else at the mont. "Say goodbye girls," he opened the door and went out to the carriage.
"Goodbye everyone," Jane took Abigail’s hand before following after her husband.
"I kind of don’t want to leave since Vincent wants us to leave. How can I just listen to him so easily? Hey!" Cherry exclaid when Victor started to push her towards the door. "Didn’t you hear what I just said?"
"Yes but you have to read the room. Specifically, Vincent since he is sending us a death glare right now. Let’s go have so lunch," he offered, knowing that she would agree to it.
"Okay," Cherry grumbled not wanting to leave but at the sa ti wanting to go to lunch with just Victor. "Goodbye Aurora. I’ll hold a girl’s day for us soon without these n weighing us down."
"Goodbye," Aurora bid them all farewell. Now it was just her, Mari, and Vincent remaining."So, do you really not like children? What if they were you-"
"Co on," Vincent stopped her from finishing that sentence and took her hand, leading her to the door located at the back of his ho. "Mari, take the day off. We’ll be returning around the ti for dinner."
"Yes sir! So many days off," Mari clapped her hands silently.
"Where are we going, Vincent?" Aurora asked, obediently following behind Vincent to wherever he wanted to take her.
"It’s a surprise," he peeked out his back door making sure not too many people were out there, and thankfully the majority of them were distracted by seeing the little humans leave with Derek and Jane. "Keep quiet when we leave the property or we’ll have a crowd watching us."
Once they step foot off of his property, everyone would be able to hear Vincent and Aurora if they spoke a word. He hoped none of them would pick up on his scent and follow where he was going. Vincent was taking Aurora towards the gates and used a small passage behind hos to remain out of sight. They were spotted by a few people but Vincent motioned for them to ignore him.
After a couple of minutes, they reached the gates and exited along with others who were going outside for their own personal reasons. Now that they were outside of the gates they could talk all they wanted.
"I’m taking you to a special place to ease your mind from what happened today. It will be a long walk since I didn’t use a horse. Do you want to get on my back so that I can carry you?" Vincent offered to her. When Aurora blushed and looked away he asked, "Do you always beco shy for simple things like this?"
"Can you honestly bla ? I have never had this much interaction with a male growing up and I am certain it is not common for n to just casually ask a woman to get on his back."
"And it doesn’t help how incredibly handso I am. I understand it," Vincent replied, feeling proud of himself for making her feel a certain way. He was glad she didn’t have too much male interaction because many of them weren’t as much of a gentleman as they claid to be and might try to take advantage of soone like Aurora.
If she was allowed to go out and interact with them, he knew he would have a long list of suitors to hide sowhere from being near her.
"I admire your confidence, Vincent. You know that you are good-looking and not afraid to flaunt your body," she was referring to how he would walk around with his shirt unbuttoned exposing his toned chest. Aurora ntally scolded herself for taking a look at him when he was like that. It was rude.
"Thank you. I hope that you see how beautiful you are. I saw many eyes today that I have to claw out for looking at you so inappropriately. Although it pains to say this, if you were to go out with your sister to look for a suitor there is no doubt you would be married right now. Even if you were the daughter of a mistress, it wouldn’t have been hard to get you married to a good man."
"Probably. No use thinking about what will never happen. I gave up on getting married after waiting at ho while Regina and Samuel mingled with others. And without having a husband ant I wouldn’t have children. I had the thought that if no one wanted to be married to the daughter of a mistress and I was allowed to live elsewhere I would have adopted a child and occupy my days with them."
Before knowing she was not a Hamilton, Aurora created alternative paths in her life to make herself feel there was a rainbow waiting for her sowhere in the future. It was funny to her how none of those endings had happened and she ended up living with werewolves. "Now, I kind of have a chance to get married now that I am free from Minnie’s rules and maybe one day I would have a child of my own but this world is scary for people like us."
Those who were seen to not be human were often tis imprisoned or killed on the spot. She couldn’t imagine bringing a child into this world and having to hide them away from showing others they were different. Aurora thought about how many innocent families were killed because of fear from others that the family looked suspicious.
"Hmm. The world is definitely getting dangerous day by day. That’s why our community must remain out of sight and kill anyone who gets too close. I want to build the new gates further out so that the children can have more space to run around like the wolf they are."
"Are you sure you don’t like children Vincent? Sounds like you are lying to yourself," Aurora smiled.
"I don’t like them but I still have to protect them. The only kind I might like is my own."
