Chapter 892: Chapter 447: Compromise and Conditions
And as the contents before their eyes beca clear, the expressions on the faces of the three n gradually changed, particularly Zuckerberg, who looked utterly solemn.
Having used nurous illegal thods over the years to expand their influence and size, Freemasonry was no stranger to the darker side of business dealings.
And Zuckerberg, a mber of Freemasonry, had naturally partaken in several of these affairs.
The docunt now in their possession detailed every single illicit transaction he was involved in—including acquisitions and takeovers.
It could be said, based solely on this docunt, he could be arrested!
“How about it, gentlen? What do you have to say now?”
“Wait a mont, Inspector David, this docunt and the so-called Federal Reserve propaganda are two separate matters…”
“Do you plan to keep arguing with !”
Ryan tried to argue further, but before he could finish his sentence, David interrupted him, causing the atmosphere in the room to freeze.
“I think our control over the platform has been sowhat lacking. How about this: when we return, we will instruct the relevant departnts to review and strictly monitor this matter from now on. Is that acceptable?”
About two minutes later, the long-faced middle-aged man who hadn’t said a word since their arrival finally spoke up. He was Twitter’s CEO, Maca Minglis.
His insinuation was an acknowledgnt of their role in fabricating the Federal Reserve nationalization panic and indicated that their departnts would no longer propagate it.
David, of course, understood the subtext of his words but wasn’t about to let them off easily. He scoffed and said, “Do you really think you can start and stop this propaganda whenever you want?”
“What do you want, then?”
Maca frowned; he sensed this matter was not going to end well.
“It’s simple. To avoid such incidents in the future and to prevent any unpleasantness for both parties, I ‘suggest’ you would be better off selling your companies and living a peaceful retirent with the money.”
“That’s impossible!”
Upon hearing this, Maca couldn’t hold back his emotions. His company was his lifeblood—it had taken years to build it up to this point; how could he just sell it?
David looked at Zuckerberg and Ryan and asked, “And you two? Do you share Mr. Maca’s opinion?”
“I…”
Ryan hesitated to respond, while Zuckerberg remained silent with a gloomy expression.
“There’s no need to decide right now. I’ll give you three days to think it over. Go back and consider your options, then give your answer!”
With that, the trio no longer lingered and turned to leave.
Yet as they were about to exit, they heard another warning from David behind them.
“Just a reminder, better make the right decision, or you’ll regret losing everything!”
…
Washington Four Seasons Hotel was the temporary lodging for Zuckerberg and his associates.
Upon returning to a presidential suite, Ryan turned to the other two and said, “What should we do? David has control over so much of our material, and he’s made threats. If we don’t do as he says, I’m afraid it won’t end well for us.”
“Do as he says? It’s clear he’s trying to take over our company. Do we really just hand over our hard work to him just like that!”
Maca spoke resentfully.
Ryan, at a loss for words, turned to look at Zuckerberg and said, “Mr. Zuckerberg, the situation has grown beyond our control. We likely can’t go on with creating panic about the Federal Reserve nationalization. And as for the company, please speak with Henrietta and Mr. Joshua.”
Though Ryan was the CEO of Gugo, he was not a direct mber of Freemasonry and didn’t have the final say over the company, so he had to rely on Zuckerberg to negotiate.
“Understood. I will go to them right away to discuss this matter. Do not act rashly in the anti.”
Back at their temporary haven, Zuckerberg had regained a considerable amount of composure.
Especially when he recalled the docunt in David’s hands, he started to feel an undercurrent of fear.
With that docunt, David could easily bring him down from his pedestal and reduce him to a prisoner at any mont.
While Zuckerberg was on his way to Senado Island to speak with Henrietta and the others, David was not idle.
He imdiately called the Internal Revenue Service offices corresponding to the companies of YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter, instructing them to deploy investigative teams to pressure these companies.
Then he called dia tycoons Sally, Ted, and John to use their dia outlets to release damaging information about the three n.
Lastly, he sent out inspectors to locate their families and inform them about the severity of the situation.
Family is often a person’s weakest link; take Zuckerberg, for example. Despite appearing indifferent to threats of violence, the wailing and distress of nurous family mbers could likely prove too much for him to withstand.
Following David’s orders, dia outlets swiftly began to publish negative stories about the three n.
