Chapter 873: Chapter 437: The Heart of a Petty Person in the Belly of a Gentleman_2 Chapter 873: Chapter 437: The Heart of a Petty Person in the Belly of a Gentleman_2 He had originally thought that Katherine might have summoned him over, possibly under David’s instruction, to sha him rcilessly to his face.

But it turned out, he was judging an honourable man with a petty man’s mind.

At this mont, all of Sullivan’s dissatisfaction and complaints about David had vanished without a trace, and he even felt a bit of admiration for David’s magnanimity.

Because if Sullivan had won this struggle, let alone keeping David in office, not going for the kill would have seed rciful.

After all, keeping the sa position and power already posed a significant threat!

But then again, David’s grace in letting him stay on seed to show that he wasn’t afraid Sullivan could make any waves—or, even if Sullivan did make waves, David was confident and sure he could suppress him!

“How about it, are you willing to stay on?”

Katherine’s voice interrupted Sullivan’s thoughts, and he promptly replied, “If the Madam President requires my service, then of course, I will not decline.”

As the National Security Advisor, Sullivan was influential around the world, but without this title, he would beco nothing.

Anyone who wasn’t a fool would have made the choice.

As for whether it would earn him the tag of being David’s lackey?

If even the President, FBI, and CIA were to beco David’s lackeys, then what would one more Sullivan matter!

“Very well, then continue with your work!”

Sullivan nodded and then pushed open the door and walked out of the White House. After getting into his car, it seed he rembered sothing and instructed the driver, “Take to the Internal Revenue Service.”

The Internal Revenue Service.

At this mont, David was looking into so matters regarding the midterm elections.

Since Katherine had taken office, early that morning, he had received ssages from candidates across the nation, expressing their willingness to work diligently for him.

It seed that these people had realized, now that he had taken control of the White House, The Big Three Groups were likely a lost cause, and they were eager to take sides and make their stance clear.

“Chief Inspector, Sullivan is here to see you.”

“Let him co.”

David wasn’t too surprised; the other party must have heard about Katherine’s decision to keep him on, which is why he had co.

Soon enough, Sullivan was brought in.

“Mr. Sullivan, hello.”

“Chief Inspector David, hello.”

It must be said, both n were well-known to each other by reputation, but this was actually their first face-to-face eting.

Thus, upon their eting, they couldn’t help but size each other up.

“Chief Inspector David, President Katherine has just summoned and said she wants to continue my current job, so I’ve co to express my gratitude to you.”

Finally, Sullivan was the first to speak.

“Mr. Sullivan, it’s true we’ve had our disagreents, but those are minor issues for you and . I only hope that going forward, you focus on your job.”

“That’s certainly the plan, of course, and I would like to apologize for my previous recklessness…”

David waved his hand, changing the subject, “Right, there’s sothing I must remind you about—those Freemasonry folks are up to no good. I’m going to sort them out soon, so I hope you won’t get too close to them anymore.”

“Don’t worry, I swear to God that I will never have anything to do with them again!”

Sullivan was Jewish, alright, but he wasn’t a mber of Freemasonry and, considering the lesson he’d just learned, he definitely wouldn’t mix with them again.

“That’s good…”

Both n were top figures in their respective fields, so in the following ti, they also chatted about a variety of topics within their areas of expertise.

Sullivan lived up to his reputation as an expert in national foreign affairs; his discussions on strategic planning for various countries and regions had indeed captivated David.

Half an hour later, a knock on the door interrupted their conversation as Kepel entered and said, “Chief Inspector, Mr. Sean is here.”

“Inspector David, let’s end our discussion here for today,” Sullivan said. “Please notify anyti if you have any orders.”

Upon hearing that Sean had arrived, Sullivan tactfully stood up.

As he walked out, he happened to run into Sean approaching. Although they were acquainted, they weren’t particularly close and rely nodded at each other before going their separate ways.

After entering the office, Sean said to David, “Sullivan was looking for you, what’s that about?”

He knew Sullivan had been the catalyst for the conflict between Payden and David, and seeing the man here piqued his curiosity.

“I recomnded to Katherine that he be kept on, so he ca over to express his gratitude.”

“Is that so…”

Sean appeared contemplative but the matter wasn’t of great importance to him. Then he changed the subject, “After yesterday’s dinner, the Ansa Group paid a visit. Guess what they said?”

“Let’s hear it.”

“They’re scared!”

“So, they want to make peace through you?”

David wasn’t surprised; the New York purge had served as a warning to the Ansa Group.

Moreover, with Katherine now in control of the White House, it was normal for the Ansa Group to feel afraid and not wish to oppose him further.

“Yes, they want to make peace. Additionally, regarding their previous attempt to assassinate you, they said they are willing to co to you in person to apologize.”

“No need for them to co and apologize; it’s aningless. If they voluntarily give up their tax exemption rights for the Military Industrial Complex, then I might consider letting them off the hook!”

Although David had already obtained absolute control over Arica’s various departnts, The Big Three Groups, tied together, still had so influence.

If he could get the Ansa Group to withdraw voluntarily, then the Illuminati would likely follow the trend and pull out, and the Freemasonry would be much easier to handle!

Sean smiled slightly and replied, “Given the current situation, they would probably agree to your demand, but don’t you think that might be letting them off too cheaply?”

“And you suggest…?”

“The Ansa Group has had deep roots in Arica for many years, not only having absolute control over the Military Industrial Complex but also significant control over the ard forces. Why not have them surrender that control as well? What do you think?”

“That’s their ‘lifeline’; if we push them that far, they may find it hard to comply.”

David’s current thought was to dismantle The Big Three Groups, deal directly with the Freemasonry, and their control over the Federal Reserve. So, just taking away the tax exemptions for the Military Industrial Complex could also be seen as offering them a way out.

But if they were to lose their control over the ard forces, then it’s unlikely they would exit the alliance so easily.

“Yes, if we ask them to give up all control, they might continue to desperately fight to the end, but we could just ask for a part of it. I believe it’s sothing worth negotiating.”

David fell into thought upon hearing this.

Although Sean seed calm on the surface, he was actually feeling tense inside.

His proposal was primarily to benefit his own family.

Imagine if the Ansa Group was willing to give up part of their military control, David, with his current workload, certainly couldn’t take over.

So it was highly probable that this responsibility would fall to him, a great opportunity to expand his family’s influence!

“Alright, I’ll leave this matter to you,” David said, “but however the negotiations go, the main goal is to make them exit the alliance, understood?”

David naturally noticed Sean’s cunning, but considering their relationship, he didn’t mind letting him gain so advantage.

“Don’t worry, I’ll handle it well!”

Seeing David finally agree, Sean was overjoyed and assured him.
