Chapter 802: Chapter 402: Resignation
“Enough already, everyone shut up!”
Obadiah couldn’t stand it anymore and hastily reprimanded the restless crowd.
After everyone had shut up, he turned to David and said, “David, who do you think would be the best candidate?”
David didn’t answer imdiately; instead, he slowly scanned the faces of the executives, finally stopping on the one who had just spoken about intelligence operations and said, “Hena is right, he is in charge of intelligence at the IRS, it would be most suitable for him to go!”
At these words, the rest of the executives were visibly disappointed.
Since David was leading this issue, his opinion was decisive, and now that he had recomnded Hena, it seed likely that Obadiah would not refuse him.
At that mont, Hena, the recomnded executive, was naturally overjoyed, giving David a grateful look before turning expectantly to Obadiah.
“Since you think Hena is suitable, then let Hena take over. It’s decided then!”
Unsurprisingly, Obadiah agreed.
In the ensuing ti, the executives discussed matters concerning the MSA for nearly an hour until they adjourned the eting.
After the eting, Hena quickly followed David, continuously expressing his gratitude.
Dave then tasked him with supervising the upcoming midterm elections after he arrives at the NSA and then returned to his own departnt.
Upon his return, Nisen Bakesimmons and others imdiately surrounded him and asked in unison, “How did it go, have the chiefs found a suitable candidate?”
David didn’t keep them in suspense and replied, “The headquarters intends to move Hena to replace the NSA Director.”
“What!”
The three were sowhat surprised to hear this.
However, Simmons quickly recovered and nodded, “It will indeed cause a stir to parachute an executive from headquarters to take over, but given the current situation, we don’t care about it anymore, and it’s actually the best for us since it’s one of our own, absolutely safe and reliable.”
“Exactly, we’ve already burnt our bridges with The Big Three Groups, so there’s no need to hold back anymore!”
“So that ans the NSA can now be considered a ‘branch’ departnt of our IRS.”
Simmons and Bucky realized the intention of the chiefs.
“Well, there’s still a lot to do, everyone get back to it.”
David headed towards his office.
Once back in his office, he imdiately returned calls to Sean, Trump, and others, informing them of the decision he had made.
When Sean and others learned that the IRS planned to dispatch one of their own to the NSA, they were naturally disappointed, but since David had already decided, they couldn’t argue, and silently accepted the outco.
At two o’clock in the afternoon.
Kepel knocked and entered the office, saying to David, “Chief Inspector, Director Edgar of the NSA is here, he wants to see you.”
“Oh?”
David wasn’t very surprised and after a mont of thought replied, “Then let him in.”
“Alright.”
A few minutes later, Edgar was brought in. David had t him once before when deploying the aircraft carrier to Illuminati Island, so they were not strangers.
“Inspector David, where have I offended you?”
Upon eting, Edgar imdiately voiced his displeasure.
“Director Edgar, I don’t understand what you’re talking about!”
Seeing the other feign ignorance, David also pretended to be oblivious.
“What am I talking about? These past few days, those major dia outlets have leaked a lot of dirt on , don’t tell this has nothing to do with you!”
These attacks from the dia, and being the director of MAS controlling nurous channel resources, he had naturally investigated thoroughly—it was David preparing to sort him out!
The CIA and FBI were already indirectly under David’s control, and while his MAS was not weak, how could it possibly escape notice by these major agencies?
