Chapter 781: Chapter 391: Decision_2

“If the White House really ends up signing off honestly, then David truly has no reason, and no need to take the risk of stirring up sothing as significant as impeachnt.”

Although the three, including David, were eager to see Carla’s stance, they knew everything that needed to be said had been conveyed; it wouldn’t be appropriate to press her too hard, so they left the office first.

“What do you think, Windsor?”

Right after the three left, Katherine imdiately turned to her chief of staff.

“Madam Vice President, I believe this trade is worth making!”

Arica’s Vice President was essentially a powerless mascot, and as the Vice President’s chief of staff, one had even less presence.

However, if she really accepted David’s proposal and things progressed smoothly, then once Carla took over the White House, she, Windsor, would naturally beco a powerful White House chief of staff.

The temptation of skyrocketing to such a position overnight was truly more striking than waiting another five years!

“But Windsor, if we do this, The Big Three Groups will be irate, and their retaliation is no joke. Moreover, the White House might not refuse to sign…”

“Madam Vice President!”

Windsor, sowhat anxious, said emphatically, “The Big Three Groups are indeed formidable, but at this mont, David’s strength can be said to be no less than theirs, perhaps even surpassing them to so extent!”

“We Aricans have a saying, ‘He who holds Congressional Hill holds the world.’ David currently has an absolute advantage in the House of Congressn, and although the Senate is not yet under control, it already has significant influence.”

“Moreover, the legislation is now one step away from being finalized. Once it’s enacted, The Big Three Groups will be severely weakened!”

“Besides, think about it; if the bill passes, the biggest beneficiary, of course, would be the Internal Revenue Service, but who cos next? It’s undoubtedly the White House!”

“After all, once the bill is passed, it’s foreseeable that the national finances will be substantial, and with sufficient finances, the welfare of the citizens can be guaranteed.”

“And who wouldn’t sing praises of the White House in a period of national prosperity and peace?”

“By then, not only will you be the only female, African-Arican President in Arica’s history, but you will also be seen as a President who has made outstanding contributions!”

Hearing her chief of staff’s depiction, Katherine inevitably drifted into pleasant imaginings.

It did make sense; once the bill was passed, the nation’s finances would be instantly sufficient, and if she really beca President during this period, it would indeed be a huge boon!

“As for your concern about the White House signing, of course, it’s possible. But this ga is a gamble; let’s bet they’ll ultimately refuse to sign. If we win, we will make a fortune. Even if we lose, didn’t David promise us 28 years of support? That wouldn’t be too bad a deal, would it?”

Katherine nodded, clearly in agreent with her chief of staff’s words, but then she rembered sothing and said with concern, “But Windsor, you also heard so rumors last night, saying The Big Three Groups even threatened many senators with their family mbers…”

“From the information I’ve gathered, The Big Three Groups did make threats, and even took action. However, earlier today, I also heard through so channels that last night the CIA and FBI took so actions.”

“According to reliable information, these senators and their families are now under the close protection of these two major agencies. I think you don’t have to worry about that at all.”

“The renown of our two major Arican agencies isn’t for nothing. The Big Three Groups, though wealthy and ruthless, won’t be able to stir up too much trouble with these two agencies watching them.”

Katherine had already been leaning towards David’s side, now that she was seeking reassurance from her chief of staff, it was rely for an added psychological comfort.

And now, after this conversation, her mind was completely made up!

“No need, if we notify them now, the IRS will have expectations and won’t experience as much of a psychological impact.”

“If we don’t give a response now, their nerves are sure to be on edge, and when we cast our supporting vote at the eting, the entire IRS will be even more grateful to us!”

It had to be said, Katherine had a knack for controlling human psychology.
