Chapter 716: Chapter 359: Unexpected Encounter with Bieber, Whereabouts Revealed
Archerbi’s response was the very epito of a politician’s cunning.
If David could “persuade” enough Congressn to vote, then his involvent would beco an inevitable trend. The Freemasonry Ansa Group would likely be too preoccupied to single him out.
And if David couldn’t persuade that many Congressn, then the bill wouldn’t pass anyway, and naturally, he wouldn’t need to involve himself.
This could definitely be described as being able to advance or retreat at will.
“Pleasure doing business with you!”
David smiled and extended his right hand. He had certainly seen through the other man’s thoughts, but as long as the other party agreed to vote for the bill when the ti ca, nothing else mattered.
...
…
After David left, Archerbi’s wife, who had been silently listening, asked with a worried face, “Archerbi, this is murky water. If we’re not careful, we could be ruined. Why did you agree to him so easily?”
“You should know very well what kind of person Chief Inspector David is. He dared to co to our house today, which ans he must be fully prepared. If I dared to refuse, with his thods, I could kiss this mid-term election goodbye.”
Archerbi spread his hands, explaining helplessly.
“But still… the risk is ultimately too great. This bill is obviously shearing the wool off the world’s rich; those capitalists are not people to be trifled with.”
His wife continued to worry.
“Indeed, capitalists have never been an easy group to manipulate, but you have to look at who they are facing now. They’re facing the most vicious and capable individual in the history of the Internal Revenue Service. On top of that, the IRS has funds, people, and most importantly, they’re ard. Authority cos from the barrel of a gun, a fact even those capitalists have to admit!”
The reason Archerbi could agree so readily was, in addition to knowing how ruthless David’s thods were, he highly valued that the Internal Revenue Service had its own ard forces.
Otherwise, if it were another departnt approaching him, even the White House, he wouldn’t have boarded this ship so easily.
“Being ard doesn’t guarantee you’re safe from all mishaps. We should be afraid that…”
“Don’t worry!”
Archerbi interrupted her, saying, “Right now, this bill isn’t even at its inception. If David truly wants to push it, at the very least he needs to pull together 216 Congressman and 51 Senators. And if he really manages to pull that off, do you think those capitalists will still have the energy to specifically target us?”
Hearing this, Archerbi’s wife realized he had a point.
Right now, they had simply reached a secret agreent with David, they weren’t imdiately going to draft the bill at the Congress.
But once the drafting began.
Then, as her husband had said, they would at minimum need to win over 216 Congressman and 51 Senators.
When that ti ca.
The entire upper crust of Arica would likely already be in chaos, those capitalists would hardly have the ti to specifically deal with them.
…
After leaving Archerbi’s residence, David didn’t rest. He went to ‘visit’ the rest of Florida’s Congressn one by one.
Of course, not every Congressman was as agreeable as Archerbi or Raglen—persuadable with a mix of emotion and reason.
Two of the Congressn, upon hearing about the bill, wanted nothing to do with this ssy affair.
At last, having no other choice, David had to activate his scrutiny function, revealing so of their dirty secrets and tax evasion incidents.
He then directly threatened that if they didn’t stand with him, he would go ‘have a chat’ with their political rivals.
Eventually, these two Congressn were compelled against their will to grit their teeth and agree.
In the following three days, through David’s efforts, another 11 Congressn were ‘persuaded’ by him.
Florida had 2 Senators and 28 Congressn. Two Senators had been settled by him, and 14 Congressn were confird to stand with him when the ti ca.
As for the other 14 Congressn, as they were clearly backed by Freemasonry, Ansa Group, and the Illuminati factions, David decided not to waste his breath on them after so deliberation, instead choosing to focus his efforts on other states.
But just thinking about having to travel to 49 other states and having to talk with so many legislators one by one gave him a headache.
Well, these things take ti.
After all, the bill he was now pushing was deeply significant, enough to change the global landscape of Arica, and couldn’t be accomplished smoothly all at once. It was normal to expend a bit more effort.
That’s how David consoled himself.
At two in the afternoon, David and his people arrived at the airport, and since the crew had been notified in advance, they were already in place.
“We’re headed to Georgia.”
“Copy that.”
Not long after, the Boeing 787 stationed at the airport took off slowly, heading toward Georgia, bordering Florida.
…
In the following week, David was still busy working on his bill in various states.
But because this work was conducted in the shadows, without public knowledge, it caused much speculation nationwide.
Logically speaking, you, Inspector David, have just survived an assassination attempt; you’ve barely ‘lived’ through it—surely you have to enact so kind of retribution.
