Chapter 349: Chapter 208: Putting a Bounty on Taking Out David_3

And now, the dia’s skepticism would disappear into thin air as long as these celebrities testified for them.

“Alright, Director David, but I want to ask you, what will be your next move after closing this case? Are you going to launch a tax audit on Hollywood directly?”

“The tax audit on Hollywood won’t co so soon. I need to deal with the criminals in the Western Suburbs first.”

“Excuse , Director David…”

While David was still being interviewed by the dia, across the ocean in Bear Country Saint Petersburg, Rodrigozki learned about the news the mont it broke.

“Deputy Director Bonado, you just fucking watched as the national tax agents convicted my people?”

“I couldn’t help it, Rodrigozki. David has evidence, testimonies, and witnesses all extrely comprehensive; there’s truly no angle to dispute…”

“And yet yesterday, you fucking told you thought their evidence was insufficient?”

“This… Rodrigozki, I didn’t expect David to be so formidable. Barely into office, he has investigated your group inside out.”

“What am I supposed to do now?”

“Rodrigozki, at this point, you might as well accept defeat. After all, you’re still in Bear Country, so he can’t really do anything to you.”

“Damn it! Bang!!!”

Inside the mansion, Rodrigozki slamd his phone onto the ground, his face contorting with ferocity.

As if it’s easy to accept defeat, he thought, rembering the imnse efforts and the price he paid to seize control of the Western Suburbs.

The empire he’d built with such difficulty had crumbled overnight. How could he possibly accept that?

Rodrigozki stood up and paced back and forth in the hall, wrestling with his inner turmoil.

He had thought that since David was a newcor, he wouldn’t dare to be too ruthless from the start, which was why he planned to fight for so leverage and minimize his losses.

But to his dismay, David hadn’t played by the rules, striking a fatal blow instantly and leaving them powerless to retaliate.

After pacing and contemplating for ten minutes, Rodrigozki’s reluctance to resign to defeat persisted. His face hardened as if he had made a decision and he beckoned to one of his n.

The subordinate approached, prepared to listen.

Rodrigozki said, “Let the word out to everyone in Los Angeles’ underworld: whoever kills David will earn a 20-million-dollar reward!”

“This…”

A mont of hesitation flickered across the subordinate’s face before he gritted his teeth and said, “Mr. Rodrigozki, there’s sothing I must remind you. The main reason the tax bureau’s ard forces stord the Indian Tribe was that an elder’s son from the tribe sent people to try to kill David, which led to such retaliation…”

“Now that it’s co to this, and I’m fucking in Bear Country, do I need to fear his retaliation?”

Rodrigozki certainly wasn’t a fool. The main reason he dared to take this fatal stance against David was his absence from Arican soil; otherwise, even with a hundred tis the courage and the example of the Indian Tribe’s fate, he would absolutely not dare to take a hit on David.

Realizing his own foolishness, the subordinate imdiately turned to leave and carry out the task.

Yet he hadn’t gone far when Rodrigozki called him back.

“No need to hide that the reward is from !”

He couldn’t swallow this insult. He wanted the entire Los Angeles to know that since David dared to destroy his group, he was set on retaliating.

“Yes, sir.”

Los Angeles.

After David finished the interviews, the dia imdiately went to interview several celebrities who had been invited to the trial, but the results surprised everyone.

According to these celebrities’ statents, the tax bureau did not force convictions on the mbers of the Rodrigozki Group; the verdicts were based on solid evidence.

This revelation changed the perspective of both the dia and the citizens of Los Angeles. They had truly witnessed the capabilities of David, the new Director.

Western Suburb Branch.

“Clap clap clap clap…”

All the inspectors, Chief Tax Officers, and Tax Investigators were already lined up in the hall and broke into warm applause as they saw David enter.

To speak the truth, although David ascended to his position through a deification plan, many among them still had their doubts about this new Director.

They questioned his imdiate appointnt of nurous close associates upon taking office, and also raised concerns about his youthfulness; could he lead the Western Suburbs Branch on a path toward glory and righteousness?

But now, with this case beautifully resolved and the addition of 277 million in funds, all the inspectors, Chief Tax Officers, and Tax Investigators were convinced of the rits of the new Director David.

Just the collection of this tax revenue alone surpassed the total sum of all assessnt periods combined, and the Western Suburbs Branch finally made a na for itself within the national tax bureau system with their tax performance!

“Director David, this case was my dereliction of duty. I owe you an apology…”

Muriel approached David with these words. The resolution of the case and the large influx of funds felt like a substantial blow to his own face.

But there was no choice; the case was solved and the significant sum of money was indeed collected by David. As the adage goes, winners take all. Hence, Muriel, if he still wanted to remain in the Western Suburbs Branch, had to step forward and own up to his mistake.

“Everyone makes mistakes, and this isn’t entirely Deputy Chief Muriel’s fault alone. Just be more diligent in the future.”

Seeing Muriel offering his apology, David provided an excuse of oversight as a way for him to step down gracefully.
