David shrugged and replied, "That's not sothing Director Ducray needs to worry about."
"You dare to investigate ?!"

"Director Ducray, this amount of money and these two docunts may not be enough to shake your position. But if they are used to stain your record, it won't be so easy for you to move up to the headquarters in the future."
David certainly knew that becoming the director of a super division like Long Beach required a strong background and a solid network within the headquarters.
And to tell the truth, Director Ducray was not entirely corrupt.
The two sums he took were primarily because of his old school relations with Trevicon and a bit of nepotism with the Vice Director of YA Company.
Afterwards, in gratitude, they bypassed Director Ducray, went straight to his wife, and forcefully handed her these sums of money.
Therefore, the higher-ups at headquarters would definitely not easily take down a director of such a large division once they found out.
But as David said, it's definitely a stain.
And since there's a seat for every high-level position at headquarters, with such a stain, his competitors would certainly use it against him, making his ascent to the headquarters much harder.
Unless, of course, he had no intention of moving up to headquarters.
But David knew that was almost impossible.
As the saying goes, a soldier who doesn't want to be a general isn't a good soldier, and Director Ducray, after years of hard work, had finally beco the director of a super division like Long Beach.
Now that he was halfway to headquarters, how could he willingly give up everything he had achieved?

David was right. While this matter wouldn't bring him down, it would beco a stain that his opponents could use against him in the future, and he certainly cared about that.
His many years in the service, now pushing Bellamy for the "God-Making" election campaign, weren't all to gather more achievents in preparation for his move to the headquarters?
If David took these two docunts to the headquarters, not to ntion his competitors, just Donald, Obajoa and their group would give him enough trouble.
After all, Director Obadiah, the head of the headquarters, and Deputy Director Donald, who oversaw the black tax legislation, were supporters of David.
And since he had already annoyed these two giants by freezing David's GCO funds, with this leverage, wouldn't the two giants make a big deal out of it?

"He wants to see ?"
Bellamy felt a little surprised, but the bad feeling in his heart intensified. He imdiately got up and pushed through the door towards the Director's office.
A few minutes later, he entered, saw Director Ducray's sowhat gloomy face, and while his mind was racing, he also asked softly, "Director, you wanted to see ?"
