Seeing the arrival of David and his team, the staff stationed at the passageway hurriedly reached out to stop them.
Nisen didn't waste any words and directly produced the tax emblem, "We're from the Tax Bureau, we're on duty, please step aside!"
On hearing that it was the Tax Bureau, the staff mber didn't dare to obstruct them any longer and quickly stepped aside.
Without beating around the bush, David and the others imdiately proceeded, and quickly ca to a rest area.
Having lost their target, Nisen could only randomly grab a staff mber and ask, "Excuse , where is Mr. Lawson Rubins's resting room?"
"Right there, turn left, the second door."
Without delay, David and his team followed the directions and indeed found the entrance to a resting room guarded by two bodyguards.

David smiled and said, "Really? Then why would Governor Stevenson ask to take you down?"

Lawson was initially shocked and then stared at David with a questioning gaze.
"I ant what I said. You claim to have no personal quarrels with Governor Stevenson, but he wants to destroy you; what do you think about that now?"
"Stevenson sent you to deal with ?"
David nodded, remaining silent.
Lawson fell silent as well, his expression changing as he pondered.
After a mont, David spoke, "Mr. Lawson, since Governor Stevenson wants to take you down, and since I've already taken a dislike to him, how about... we team up and fight back against him?"
Lawson looked at David for about 5 seconds and then suddenly laughed before responding, "Director David, you put it quite interestingly. The Tax Bureau is in charge of taxation, and I am only a candidate right now, without the right or position to retaliate against anything."

Stevenson and David clearly had a grudge. Why then would Stevenson compel David to target him?

Lawson spread his hands: "Director David, I am very grateful that you have co to in person to inform of this, but like I said, I am just a candidate with no authority or position. I'm afraid there's nothing I can do to help!"
Seeing that the other party was so uncooperative, David didn't waste any more words and just stretched his hand back towards Nisen.
And Nisen imdiately passed a file bag into his hand.
