National Tax Bureau Valley District Sub-bureau Branch.
"What? Contact the dia, hold a press conference? Right now? Are you sure? This... Well then, fine!"
After hanging up the phone, Edward's eyes were still wide with disbelief.
The call had, of course, co from David, and David had not been here for long. Yet he wanted him to hold a press conference, ready to announce the tax evasion cris of two city hall officials in this city?
Even with divine foresight, one couldn't possibly expect to investigate with such speed, could they?
If the caller hadn't been David, who had just made a great stir at Sparks University, if he hadn't verified it several tis, Edward would never have believed it!
Putting aside his thoughts, Edward imdiately went to the door of the director's office, knocked, and entered.
The Valley Branch director was a refined woman in her fifties, wearing light makeup, nad Jennifer.
When she saw Edward co in, she pushed up the glasses on her nose bridge and asked, "What's the matter, Edward?"
Edward organized his thoughts and replied, "Director, I have sothing to tell you. This morning, Director David from Las Vegas contacted ..."
"Wait a second..."
Upon hearing the na David, Jennifer's pupils dilated instantly, interrupting him: "Director David from Las Vegas? Didn't he just cause a huge earthquake in Sparks City? Why would he suddenly contact you?"
"Director, please hear out, here's the situation..."
Edward went on to explain everything in detail.
After listening, Jennifer, who had already been sowhat restless, felt inner turmoil churning intensively.
David had co to their Henderson City?
And was he preparing to replicate the havoc he wreaked in Sparks, to shake the local city hall here as well?
But that was not the most shocking thing to her.
What shocked her the most was, according to Edward, David had already arranged for their Valley Branch to schedule a dia press conference, ready to issue a tax evasion notice against certain city hall officials!
All of this left Jennifer both shocked and puzzled, and she imdiately asked, "Did you not say he only arrived this morning? The day has barely passed 6 or 7 hours, and he has everything ready?"
Edward spread his hands, equally baffled, and replied, "I can't figure it out either, but I've confird with him several tis. He seems very confident, and he's already on his way over!"
After a short contemplation, Jennifer responded, "Alright, then go contact the dia. Don't reveal any information about officials evading taxes, just simply prepare them to co over at any ti!"
"Understood."
Edward imdiately left the office and began contacting the dia through various channels.
Soon, Henderson's dia received the news and were instantly abuzz with speculation.
They were of course aware of the earthquake that had just happened next door in Sparks; in fact, many of them had even gone to the city court this morning to cover the event.
And now their local Valley District National Tax Bureau Branch suddenly inford them that there might be a major piece of break news to announce later.
This led the notified dia to associate it with the events in Sparks.
Could it be...
That Henderson City was also about to experience such a significant earthquake?
To confirm their suspicions, these dia outlets imdiately started inquiring about David's whereabouts through various channels.
Because they knew the official upheaval in Sparks was instigated by David himself.
If David appeared here, combined with the notification from the Valley Tax Bureau Branch, then it was almost certain!
Henderson City, City Hall.
The city hall already had a long-standing cooperation with many dia outlets.
Therefore, the National Tax Bureau's notification to the local dia about an upcoming significant announcent quickly reached the city hall's ears.
Before this, despite the incident in Sparks City, many officials here harbored a stroke of luck, believing it wouldn't reach their heads.
But now, suddenly getting a tip from the dia, many of them beca anxious right away.
Mayor Priestley convened all the important mbers of the city hall for an ergency eting in the conference room without delay.
"The reason I urgently called everyone here is that we just received a ssage from the dia. They've been inford by the Valley Tax Bureau Branch that a press conference may be held shortly to announce a piece of breaking news!"
"What, breaking news?"
"The Valley Tax Bureau Branch inford the dia about a press conference? This... It can't really be happening to us, can it?"
"It can't be possible, the trial in Sparks just finished this morning; it can't be our turn this afternoon, can it?"
Upon hearing Mayor Priestley's words, many of the officials present grew tense.
"This ssage cos from two dia outlets that have collaborated with our city hall; it's unlikely to be false!"
Hearing Mayor Priestley confirm once more, those at the scene grew even more panicked.
It wasn't until nearly a minute later that Sharp suddenly asked, "The question now is, is David still in Sparks City?"
At those words, everyone at the scene also quickly caught on.
Frankly, the local tax bureau definitely did not have the power to cause trouble over their city hall's head; it was probably only that damn David who had the capability.
And as long as David wasn't in Henderson, they didn't have much to fear!
"I've already ordered people to check, and there's no clear information yet. However, Sparks is very close to our Henderson City; if he wants to co over, it would only take a mont..."
