"Cooperation?"

Brenner's eyes flickered, guessing the intentions of this group of people.

"I need you to close the entrance to the Upside Down."

Brenner looked surprised upon hearing this.

Even the top authorities didn't know about this matter; how did this person get the news?

Secret Service? Or so non-existent departnt?

Although his mind was a bit confused for a mont, Brenner still said: "This is very difficult to do."

"The reason?"

William's voice ca from the walkie-talkie.

Brenner was silent for a mont.

"The Upside Down rift was initially opened by her." He finished and glanced at Eleven.

The latter recalled so bad mories and shrank behind Chief Hopper.

"After that, I used a particle accelerator to expand the gap and maintain its stability."

"I have never seen such a world; it is full of danger."

A hint of longing appeared in Brenner's eyes as he spoke.

At this ti, William interrupted him:

"Even knowing the danger, you still disregarded the safety of others, just for the 'scientific research' in your heart, right?"

He deliberately emphasized the words "scientific research."

Brenner was speechless for a mont, and then muffled: "You won't understand."

Unexpectedly, in the next mont, William ruthlessly exposed him:

"Wrong! This is just an excuse to cover up your incompetence in balancing safety and greed for scientific research."

"You!"

Brenner's face turned red upon hearing this, speechless for a long ti.

"Critique of you ends here; let's continue to talk about business. Where is that accelerator equipnt?" William said calmly.

"Heh, it's useless even if I tell you."

Brenner snorted coldly, venting his dissatisfaction with being ridiculed just now.

"You think I haven't tried?"

"I tried all thods, but the underground of the laboratory is filled with Upside Down matter."

"Communication, infrared, night vision devices... all of these failed."

"You can't find direction down there at all, and you might encounter various 'monsters'!"

Brenner leaned back in his chair, seeming to finally find a trace of psychological advantage.

"Although your courage is comndable, going down is just sending yourself to death."

"If you can't do it, don't bla the road for being uneven." William spoke again.

Brenner imdiately felt a tightness in his chest.

This guy on the walkie-talkie was too infuriating!

"After returning from the Upside Down, you are responsible for turning off the accelerator, and your scientific research results can be retained."

William proposed a condition.

Brenner was shocked upon hearing this!

"You want to enter the Upside Down? Humans cannot stay in that environnt for long!"

"That's not sothing you should worry about." Chief Hopper interrupted.

To find Will, he and Joyce had to go in.

"The Chief is right. If you have no objections, let's start the operation." William echoed.

"I have objections!"

Brenner wanted to say more, but the walkie-talkie connection had been cut off.

Hopper patted him and said: "He was just being polite to you."

...

Outside the laboratory building.

William put away the walkie-talkie.

To save battery, he had agreed with Hopper to contact again when they officially entered the underground.

There was another problem to solve at this ti.

William glanced in the direction of the dense forest; he could feel a bloody aura approaching.

Unsurprisingly, it should be the monsters wandering in the town.

He ca to Emma, grabbed her shoulders with both hands, and said seriously:

"Comrade Emma, the organization is entrusting you with an arduous and glorious task!"

Emma looked suspicious, her feet instinctively taking a step back.

But because William was holding her, her body couldn't move.

William turned his head and signaled the two officers.

The latter hesitated, but still stepped forward.

One held a bucket, and the other held a rope.

Emma imdiately slled a bloody sll; she found so viscous substance in the bucket.

The officer carrying the bucket took out a brush and sared the stirred minced at on Emma's face.

Another officer tied Emma with a rope.

Emma looked at William in disbelief.

"I thought we had a deal..."

She was gagged with a cloth halfway through.

"Relax, just playing bait, no danger." William smiled.

The two officers swallowed and said nothing.

Not long ago, this priest also asked for their willingness, but they naturally shook their heads and refused.

So the other party suggested letting the little girl do it.

And looking at the priest's expression at that ti, he seed to look forward to it.

Plus the ability displayed by the other party, and repeated verbal assurances.

Although the two still couldn't bear it, they finally voted in favor.

So, Emma was dragged outside the arranged trap.

She stared at William resentfully, seemingly wanting to kill him with her eyes.

But William and the two officers had long hidden far away.

A mont later, movent ca from the dense forest.

A thick tentacle extended from the bushes, followed by a long and narrow head.

A monster about two ters tall, covered in various organs and resembling a spider in appearance (The Spider Monster / Mind Flayer's avatar), erged from the forest.

It easily broke through the iron fence and soon found Emma in the clearing.

The latter twisted her body desperately, but could only watch the spider monster approach.

Until this mont, Emma finally understood.

This damn priest never intended to teach her exorcism from the beginning, but always used her as a tool!

"William, you damn bastard!"

Emma could only curse angrily in her heart.

And the spider monster happened to arrive.

Emma closed her eyes tightly.

But a few seconds later, she found she wasn't dead.

She looked curiously.

She saw a barrier between herself and the monster; the latter couldn't touch her at all.

Seeing the spider monster walk into the trap, William didn't rush forward, but observed for a while longer.

Confirming that the other party couldn't escape, he walked out from behind the cover.

The two officers dawdled for a while, and only dared to approach boldly after William called many tis.

They looked incredulous; such a monster was unheard of!

At the sa ti, the two admired William even more, able to subdue even such a monster.

On the other side.

William didn't hesitate and imdiately took out the Exorcism Bible.

At the sa ti, he asked the two officers to take out the holy water prepared in advance.

"In the na of the Lord, let the Holy Light descend upon ..."

Inside the Demon-Trapping Array.

The consciousness attached to the monster's brain saw the human in front intending to expel it, and stopped moving for a mont.

It looked at the other party "with interest."

The current body was a mixture of flesh and blood from Demodogs.

The latter were native creatures of the Upside Down, maturing into Demogorgons, so their flesh and blood strength was high.

At the sa ti, as a collective of thoughts, it had no physical body itself.

Even the thought itself didn't exist in this space.

This also ant it couldn't be attacked.

But unexpectedly.

When the "water" in the hands of those humans splashed over, this vessel was instantly lted.

It was "a bit surprised"; humans a thousand years ago also possessed this holy power.

Seemingly inherited from above "The Unknowable Space."

Imdiately after, it was "a bit shocked."

It "found" that its consciousness was being constantly stripped away, and it couldn't even resist!

In its long and endless existence, this situation had only appeared a few tis.

So, before the consciousness completely dissipated, it "rembered" that human's face.

On the other side.

Seeing the spider monster turn into a pool of at paste, William stopped chanting.

He asked the two officers to take out the gasoline prepared in advance, and then began to destroy this lump of things for the second ti.

The fire soon illuminated the night sky.

William turned around and untied Emma.

"See, I said no danger."

Emma clenched her fists tightly.

Zzz... zzz...

At this ti, Hopper's voice ca from the walkie-talkie.

"William, we have entered the laboratory underground."
