Inside the cabin.

The clearing was covered in dust, with monster remains scattered around.

Dana and the others were panting heavily, their clothes drenched in sweat.

There were more of these zombie monsters than they expected, but thankfully, they were finally almost done clearing them out.

At the sa ti, tendrils of black aura drifted past them, converging toward the cabin, yet the group remained completely oblivious.

"It seems the zombie monsters were already connected to the Source Power passage here," William thought to himself, feeling the changes in the black leather book.

"Even without finding its exact location, the Book of the World has already collected a significant amount of evil aura."

By this ti, Marty, Dana, and the other two had finished resting.

Just as they were about to purify the remaining monsters, William suddenly intervened.

"It took three bags of blood just to clear out this batch; that's too wasteful. Let's slow down. We'll wait for more monsters to gather and deal with them all at once," William suggested.

"Of course, if no other monsters appear after a while, we'll quickly finish the fight and find a way out of here."

The four of them were slightly taken aback, their gazes unanimously falling on the tal box.

This dium-sized box currently had icy white mist wafting from its open lid. It held roughly dozens of blood bags, making their stockpile still look very full.

Perhaps sensing their thoughts, William added: "You should plan ahead while supplies are abundant. That way, you won't fall into a passive situation later."

He narrowed his eyes.

"After all... the monsters won't give us a second chance."

Hearing this, the group realized he made perfect sense!

Consequently, they put down their holy artifacts and resud resting where they stood.

Unlike the calm here, the underground conference room was in an uproar.

"Who let this guy in!"

"He needs to do research just to purify a ghost! Can't he just pick up the fucking holy artifact and get to it!"

"Please watch your language. You must not use vulgar words; the Lord is watching from above."

"You motherf..."

Even the North Arican officials were losing their composure.

Underwood approached Claire with a complex expression.

"What exactly is that gentleman planning? If the Church has no ulterior motives, then let's just end this ritual quickly," he said in a low voice.

Claire offered a bitter smile.

Although she had been assisting William, this gentleman had always been very mysterious. All she knew was that he wouldn't do anything useless.

So, she composed herself and conveyed this thought to the Secretary.

"Sigh... let's hope so," Underwood frowned slightly.

The group waited a while longer. Seeing that the five sacrifices truly had no intention of making a move, they had no choice but to release the new monsters early.

A ghost bride, a freakish clown, a giant centipede...

The Church released multiple monsters in succession, yet the sacrifices remained still.

Even when the monsters attempted to approach the cabin, that damn wanted fugitive actually planned to take the sacrifices and run first. His reasoning was that the ghosts exhibited new behavioral patterns and needed to be observed again...

Therefore, the Church could only continue releasing monsters.

Commotion also broke out at the various stone altars in the dense forest.

The exorcists were agitated, cursing the priest's cowardice.

Once the magic array nodes were activated, they constantly consud their own energy. Even though the drain wasn't massive without any evil aura present, who would willingly waste their strength for nothing?

During this ti, a few impatient exorcists sneaked off, caught a couple of evil existences, beat them half to death, and threw them near the cabin.

With just a few drops of blood, they could be completely purified.

And the result... naturally, went without saying. That damn priest told the sacrifices to put the holy artifacts away.

He even spouted nonsense like, "The Lord has already displayed His miracle. If we act now, it would be blasphemy..." Thus, everyone waited in vain once again.

After this, no one dared to act rashly.

Simultaneously, the clamor to apprehend this wanted fugitive grew louder and louder.

However, the Church's upper echelon remained silent, seemingly having so reservations.

But the speed at which monsters were released increased significantly after that. The entire dense forest was shrouded in a dense evil aura, causing nightfall to descend prematurely.

In front of the cabin.

Three rings of golden patterns flashed in William's eyes.

Currently, the clearing was packed with monsters, and the surroundings were littered with nurous black spirit threads.

These thin threads extended deep underground. Every so often, the ground nearby would tremble slightly.

Although the disturbance was very small, it still caught William's attention.

"Could the passage be located below..." He narrowed his eyes slightly.

At the sa ti, the surrounding evil aura had grown too massive. Continuing to accumulate it might trigger other anomalies.

Therefore, William announced: "We can act now."

The four people beside him looked apprehensive. Even though they lacked supernatural powers, they could feel the oppressive atmosphere in the clearing.

Hearing Mr. Priest's words, they imdiately reached for the blood bags.

But William added: "You guys have been doing the purifying up until now. Leave the rest to ."

As soon as he finished speaking, he took the holy artifacts from them and pulled out five blood bags at once.

This scene caught Dana and the others off guard.

William sequentially filled the grooves of the holy artifacts. The next second, a blinding light flared under the eaves, and a powerful, holy energy radiated outward.

These five items were high-quality holy relics, inherently containing imnse Holy Power.

Moreover, special magic arrays were inscribed on their surfaces, allowing them to be activated by sacrificing blood. This was why ordinary people like Dana could use them.

William tossed the holy artifacts onto the nearby ground one by one, then brought out a few holy artifacts he had crafted himself.

Having observed for this long, he had already confird that the sacrifices were rely purifying the ghosts to allow the evil aura to flow into the magic array.

There was absolutely no reason Holy Clergy mbers couldn't do this themselves; they were deliberately hiding it due to so ulterior motive of the Church.

And since William had found a clue to the Source Power passage, he naturally didn't intend to stay any longer.

The mont he made his move, the screens beside the various stone altars abruptly went black.

Shortly after, nurous pristine white lights flared in the clearing by the cabin.

Imdiately after, a massive beam of light shot into the sky, quickly forming a crystalline barrier.

"Th-this is... what is this." Dana's eyes went wide; the sight before her felt like a hallucination.

Marty slumped to the ground, his right hand continuously crossing himself: "Mamma mia! Is the Lord revealing a miracle!"

Jules's gaze darted between the magic array and the priest, looking at him as if he were a monster.

Curt also froze in place, temporarily forgetting even the pain in his body.

On the other side, after setting up the magic array, William imdiately began chanting exorcism scriptures.

Faced with so many caras around, he decided to use a safer thod to purify the evil.

As his voice echoed through the air, the ground of the dense forest lit up with pristine white Holy Light. The ghosts instantly revealed expressions of agonizing pain.

Their bodies rapidly turned to dust, releasing a massive amount of evil aura simultaneously.

But the next second, this evil power was drawn away, flowing into the surroundings.

If soone with a high theological rank had been present, they would have noticed that a portion of the evil aura did not disperse along the magic array, but instead drifted toward the priest under the eaves.

A mont later, not a single ghost could be seen in the clearing.

Inside the underground conference room.

The Holy Clergy mbers were extrely quiet.

Although these evil existences had been purified by the sacrifices, a ritualistic exorcism had been mixed in midway. Wouldn't this affect the Divine Descent Ritual?

Everyone stealthily glanced at Kalvis of the Holy Clans, but he showed no reaction.

anwhile, Underwood was getting antsy.

He approached Kalvis: "Now that the monsters have completely vanished, shouldn't we let the volunteers leave?"

Kalvis remained silent, seemingly oblivious to the person beside him.

Seeing this, Underwood frowned deeply. Just as he was about to ask again, Parolin's voice rang out from the doorway.

"Of course. North Arica made a significant contribution to expelling evil this ti. The Church will definitely rember your rit," he smiled faintly.

Parolin then ordered: "Go personally and escort those sacrifices to a safe location."

"Yes, sir." Kalvis nodded imdiately.

"Let our people go," Underwood interjected. "Once those four volunteers are picked up, the Paranormal Operations Squad can also withdraw."

At so point, the number he used had changed from "five" to "four."

"Mr. Secretary, I'm afraid I cannot agree to that," Parolin smiled.

Underwood narrowed his eyes: "What is the aning of this."

"Please remain calm," Parolin said evenly.

"That wanted fugitive is still with the sacrifices. It would be terrible if soone were accidentally injured because of it."

"Why doesn't the Secretary wait a little longer. Let us apprehend that guy first, and then your people can escort the sacrifices away."

He drew a cross on his chest as he spoke.

"May the Lord bless them, they will surely return safely. But before that, the Church still needs the assistance of the Paranormal Operations Squad."

Underwood fell into deep thought. Unable to find any reason to refuse, he was forced to agree.

The Cabin in the Woods.

Not long after the ghosts were purified, a figure suddenly appeared on the path leading to the clearing.

Dana, Jules, and the others instantly looked vigilant.

William, however, looked thoughtful.

Before long, a young man in a white robe approached.

"We et again, Father William," Kalvis revealed a faint smile.

"Are you here to arrest , my Lord?" William asked.

"No, no," Kalvis waved his hand dismissively.

"I am here to escort you all to safety. You successfully purified the evil and made a vital contribution to defending against the Demon God's legion."

Seeing that William knew the man, the four others were sowhat surprised.

Upon hearing his words, Dana imdiately stepped forward: "The parchnt... and everything here. Were you guys behind this? Who exactly are you!"

"Blowing up the RV and releasing those monsters. Were you trying to kill us!" Marty also demanded angrily.

Curt, unable to speak clearly, grabbed the piece of wood from the ground, while Jules clung to his arm.

"Hehe..." Kalvis touched the cross on his chest.

"I think everyone should co with first. I am acting on behalf of Mr. Underwood."

"That Senator is here too!" Surprise flashed in Dana's eyes.

Underwood had previously proposed a bill to increase student financial aid and subsidize textbooks, making him very well-known among college students.

Although sowhat swayed, Dana instinctively looked at William.

Kalvis's eyes flickered for a mont before he said, "Father William, you wouldn't want these ordinary people to get caught up in what's coming, would you?"

"I didn't expect you to be capable of uttering such kind words," William said sarcastically.

He then looked at the four of them: "Go with him. It's best you don't get involved in what happens next."

By now, the group fully understood that this priest was no ordinary person.

But because they had shared a life-and-death experience, Dana and the others trusted William more.

"Co with us!" Dana's eyes were full of worry.

"She's right," Kalvis suddenly interjected. "You have to co too. We can only start our business after sending them off."

"Since that's the case, lead the way." Unexpectedly, William agreed imdiately.

On the other side, in the underground conference room.

The North Arican officials had already left, and Parolin had also vanished.

Only one white-robed Holy Clergy mber remained to direct operations.

"All Priest Order mbers, proceed imdiately to the various stone altars and assist the exorcists with the next stage of the ritual." He swept his gaze across the room.

"You are forbidden from asking questions about the ritual or investigating on your own. Violators will be sent to the Place of Suffering!"

"Alright, move out."

As soon as his voice fell, the Holy Clergy mbers imdiately set off.

Cid's gaze was fixed intently on the back of the figure on the screen.

After a mont, she stood up and walked out the door, but heading in the opposite direction from the others.

Betis had been keeping an eye on her friend. Seeing this, she didn't dare call out. After a mont of hesitation, she followed her.

The Ruin's Stone Altars.

Shortly after the screens shut off, the exorcists imdiately erupted in protests.

But before long, a massive amount of evil aura surged from the magic array.

This invigorated the waiting crowd, like finding water in a desert.

Without needing any reminders from the Holy Clergy mbers, the exorcists imdiately began actively guiding the evil power, even more devotedly than at the beginning.

They never wanted to experience that agonizing wait again!

This also caused the collection of the evil aura to proceed much faster than anticipated.

By the ti the Priest Order mbers arrived, the work at the stone altars was almost complete.

Seeing this, the Holy Clergy mbers imdiately began preparing the sacrifices for the next stage.

But then, disaster struck!

Accompanied by a loud rumble, nurous cracks appeared on the surface of the stone altars.

Simultaneously, the evil aura within abruptly lost control, erupting toward the sky.

The exorcists' expressions changed drastically, and they imdiately tried to back away.

But the next second, they found themselves firmly locked in place within the magic array nodes.

And that evil aura began invading their bodies, while their own formidable power was being siphoned away by the magic array.

The weaker exorcists already had dark blood vessels bulging on their faces.

This struck terror into the hearts of everyone present.

"What is your Church trying to do! Are you trying to provoke a war among exorcists! Don't forget the Demon God's legion is about to descend!"

Soone imdiately shouted in question.

But then, the exorcists of various factions witnessed an unexpected scene.

They saw that those Holy Clergy mbers were similarly trapped by the magic array, their internal Holy Light energy rapidly draining away.

In an instant, a massive amount of Source Power flooded into the magic array, and the surfaces of the stone altars flared with dazzling golden light.

This scene played out across the dense forest.

If one were to look down from the sky at this mont, they would see a cross glowing with golden light forming.

Only then did the exorcists realize that everything here was a trap set by the Church.

And the trapped Holy Clergy mbers also realized they had been sold out by the Church. From the very beginning, they were ant to be part of the ritual sacrifices.

On the other side.

Because massive amounts of evil aura were rocketing into the sky, a pitch-black barrier faintly ford around the periter of the dense forest.

This aura seeped into the ground, reaching a very deep location.

Here lay a massive chasm, its depths unfathomable, with nurous bizarrely shaped remains scattered along its edge.

As the evil aura plunged into the chasm, a dense chorus of whispers began to echo in the darkness.
