William didn't answer. Instead, he approached the heart holding the Book of the World.

The black leather book quickly flipped its pages automatically, stopping on a specific one.

Subsequently, a suction force erupted from it, pulling all the pitch-black spirit threads on the heart toward it.

Ever since the Kayako incident, William had wanted to try using the Book of the World to purify the evil power on it.

This was in order to forge the Holy Heart of the "Origin" stage of theology.

Not long ago, after returning from the abbey, he formally began his cultivation in this area.

However, during his first attempt, William discovered a spirit thread extending from the heart that contained an incredibly dense evil aura.

Considering this heart ca from the progenitor of the Mountain n from Wrong Turn.

Therefore, William decided to investigate first, to prevent so monster from reviving again.

But he didn't expect the heart to actually be connected to a Son of the Devil, and he happened to catch him slaughtering the Witch Academy—this was truly an unexpected surprise.

This guy nad Langdon indeed possessed a very evil soul, but perhaps because he hadn't fully matured yet, his own power wasn't quite strong enough.

Of course, this was only relative to William.

To witches like Foxx, Langdon's power was already quite formidable.

In short, after an unexpected trip, William had obtained another "Legendary Item" belonging to the Hell faction.

Inside the laboratory.

The Book of the World had already extracted most of the evil power from the heart.

And Langdon beside it also revealed an expression of agonizing pain. The energy on his body flowed continuously toward the heart; it seed this thing had a special connection to him.

"Stop... quickly!"

Nurous cracks appeared on the surface of his skin, and an abundance of evil aura seeped out from his body.

At this mont, the entire laboratory suddenly shuddered.

The next second, the smooth tal floor abruptly turned into jagged, rocky terrain, and scorching magma oozed out from beneath the ground.

William frowned and instantly appeared at the doorway.

He then injected Holy Power into the holy statue there, and imdiately after, ten magic arrays manifested around the laboratory.

The two powers clashed violently, and the floor constantly shifted between magma and tal.

"Is this... reality corruption?"

William pondered inwardly, but that Son of the Devil was still bound to the table and had no opportunity to make a move.

Just as he was puzzled, an unimaginably terrifying consciousness descended upon the laboratory.

William instantly felt as if he had plunged into an icy cavern, as if his soul had been dead for centuries.

"Son of God... it's you again..."

Suddenly, a deep voice echoed in his ears, instantly making him dizzy.

"How dare you... harm... my son."

That voice rang out again.

Hum—

Imdiately after, William realized he suddenly couldn't move, and his entire body began to turn transparent.

He blinked his eyes, and then actually discovered the scene before him had changed.

Boiling magma, jagged rocks, and nurous masses of powerful evil forces peering at him.

William instantly activated [Missionary], and a look of surprise washed over his face.

The world before him was composed entirely of evil spirit particles, and the Holy Light on his body was the only light source in the darkness.

And behind him was a spatial rift; inside was the laboratory he had just been in.

At this mont, countless spirit threads connected William to the other side of the rift.

However, a dense evil aura floated around the spirit threads, seemingly trying to snap them.

Watching the spirit threads break one by one, a black leather book suddenly flew in front of William.

The next second, the book radiated golden light, and at the sa ti, a hexagonal transparent pane of glass suddenly appeared before William.

Its surface flipped, and then another pane of glass extended out.

As the glass continuously flipped, a barrier was quickly erected around William, connecting seamlessly with the rift.

A mont later, a sealed passage had been ford.

Those evil auras swirling outside the spirit threads also dissipated imdiately.

At this ti, William was yanked toward the rift, and a hysterical roar of rage echoed in his ears.

But that was the extent of it.

After his figure flew back into the laboratory, the rift completely closed.

"That was..." William's eyes flickered.

Hearing the other party's address of "Son of God" gave him a vague suspicion inwardly.

"It seems the Book of the World protected . Next ti I extract power, I need to stand further back..." he thought, looking at the black leather book in his hand.

After this sudden interlude, William imdiately set up several more layers of magic arrays around the area.

He then quickly left the laboratory, moving to a room a few doors down, and monitored the situation inside remotely.

Gail had given him high-level clearance, so right now, he was the only one in the vicinity.

No further accidents occurred after that.

As massive amounts of evil aura were sucked into the Book of the World, that Son of the Devil could no longer maintain his human appearance. His entire skin sloughed off, transforming into a monster with special horns.

This form only lasted for a mont before its body began to burn, turning into nothing but ash in the blink of an eye.

William wasn't in a hurry to go in. He first used holy artifacts to purify the area and waited for half an hour before taking action.

"Truly worthy of the Son of the Devil. The extracted power can actually support the closing of two Source Power passages."

William raised an eyebrow, looking at the two brightly lit dots on the page.

Subsequently, he also noticed a bright red path on the map marking the location of the Source Power passage, extending all the way from the passage's starting point to the edge of the book.

"Could this be a route map to reach the passage?"

He imdiately flipped to other pages and sure enough, saw the sa path on the passage belonging to the Church.

"That Will of the World actually mapped out other people's houses so clearly." William rubbed his chin, feeling sowhat impressed inwardly.

With this map, finding other Source Powers would be much easier.

William put away the black leather book, then finally looked at the heart floating next to the tal table.

Unlike before, the surface of the heart now emanated a pristine white glow, containing pure Source Power within.

Just standing next to it, William could feel his own power beco much more active.

"If I use this power to create a Source Power weapon, I'm afraid its power would be astoundingly strong..."

But of course, he wouldn't do that.

William took out the prepared page materials and began the reshaping of the "Holy Heart."

Half a day later.

A powerful surge of Holy Power erupted within the laboratory; all the equipnt and instrunts here failed.

Fortunately, the isolation magic arrays prevented the commotion from reaching the outside.

At this mont, William's entire body glowed with golden light. He gently clenched his fist, and the power bursting from his palm instantly snapped a chair in half.

At the sa ti, several rifts appeared in the space around him. The space inside seed vast, with many light sources flickering.

Holy Power, magical power, evil aura, so kind of powerful ntal energy...

William frowned. With just a brief glance, he perceived multiple different types of powers.

Further away, he could even see many black spirit bodies, seemingly attracted by the commotion here as well.

But every object had nurous spirit threads clinging to its surface, tightly binding them to the space around them.

Only William remained unbound.

And within his chest, a glowing heart currently resided.

Before long, these rifts disappeared on their own, and the surroundings returned to the appearance of the laboratory.

"Could that place be... the Unknowable Space?" William guessed inwardly.

According to Church texts, after completing the reshaping of the "Holy Heart," Holy Clergy mbers could locate that space with their physical bodies.

At the sa ti, because their bodies underwent a qualitative change, they could survive on their own, unaffected by the rule powers of any environnt.

In addition to this, the recovery of Holy Power would also be five tis what it was before.

It could be said that the current William was practically a walking fountain of Holy Power.

"This way, I have unlocked all the theology stages." He clenched his fist.

Aside from those stages he had only recently started learning, stages like "Eyes" and "Soul Body" had almost all been cultivated to the fourth-level Holy Art.

For a young Holy Clergy mber, this was almost impossible to achieve.

William guessed that his current strength probably already surpassed Jolan's.

"I wonder how that Archbishop is doing now." He shook his head slightly.

To this day, the Church had not announced the outco of handling Jolan, so the Light of Humanity couldn't gather any news either.

Beep... Beep...

At this ti, the light on the communication device on the desk suddenly lit up, followed by Gail's voice.

"Mr. William, are you free right now? We would like to discuss the subsequent acquisition of Source Power with you..."

A few days later.

South Arica, edge of the Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia.

Located in the Andes Mountains, this was the world's largest salt flat.

Screech—

An off-road vehicle pulled over by the highway, and William stepped out.

He wore mountaineering gear and had a video cara slung across his chest.

"My friend, there are no waystations around here. Are you sure you want to travel here alone?" a middle-aged man popped his head out of the vehicle and asked.

This was a local guide.

William smiled faintly and gave him a thumbs up.

"Alright, I'll co back here in three days. I hope to see you then, my friend." The guide shook his head helplessly.

The car then started up again, quickly turned around, and left.

Only after the other party had gone far away did William have the ti to observe his surroundings.

The azure sky stretched boundlessly, with only the dazzling sun hanging high above.

Standing on a small mound, he could see a mirror-like surface not far away, reflecting the blue of the sky.

That was the famous Salar de Uyuni, also known as the Mirror of the Sky.

However, William's destination this ti wasn't there, but a nearby volcano, where an abandoned underground salt mine was located.

The Book of the World indicated that there was a Source Power passage within the salt mine.

"Hmm... walking this far, they shouldn't be able to see anymore."

William shielded his eyes with his hand, looking at the off-road vehicle that had disappeared over the horizon.

Subsequently, he packed the cara into his backpack and looked toward the volcano in front of him.

The next second.

Bang!

A cloud of dust kicked up from the ground beneath William's feet, and he shot out like a cannonball, appearing dozens of ters away in the blink of an eye.

After a few flashes, he completely vanished into the mountain range.

Shortly after, around the volcanic region.

William stood before a massive cave entrance.

This was exactly that abandoned salt mine. There were many old facilities nearby, as well as a damaged salt mining vehicle.

Before coming, he had asked the Light of Humanity to investigate the relevant information.

This mine shaft was approximately 200 ters deep, and one had to travel 60 kiloters along the mine tunnel to reach the core area.

The workers of the mine originally drove such salt mining vehicles to operate; a single one-way trip took at least two hours.

Therefore, several relay stations were set up along the way for workers to rest.

On the wall at the entrance hung a notice board with the nas of so workers on it.

Before every shift, workers would hang their specific key tags on it. This way, if an accident occurred, they could quickly identify the specific personnel involved.

William naturally didn't have such good treatnt.

He looked down the pitch-black mine tunnel, and a salty sll instantly rushed into his nose.

Adapting to the sll, William set up his standard defensive asures nearby.

Having done this, his figure vanished into the entrance in an instant.

At the sa ti.

At a depth of 150 ters underground.

This was a wide corridor, with lightbulbs installed on the surrounding walls, illuminating the pristine white surfaces.

The starting point of the entire passage was a heavy iron door.

On both sides were many rooms made of tal, looking like prison cells, with special runic characters carved on their surfaces. Currently, quite a few people were staying inside them.

Jingle... Jingle...

Following the sound of clinking keys, the iron door was pushed open.

Imdiately after, several people wearing black robes walked in.

The leader walked with his hands clasped behind his back, while the people behind him each carried a wooden bucket.

"Everyone up. Today's Holy al is ready. After eating, you can all go down for so fresh air," the leader spoke.

As the group passed the first cell, the black-robed person carrying the bucket imdiately scooped out a ladle of mushy substance and dumped it on the floor.

Before long, a haggard-looking man walked out from deep within the cell.

He pressed himself against the bars, reaching for the mush with dirty, calloused hands.

Such scenes played out in most of the cells.

But occasionally, there were exceptions.

"Lord Callum! I am innocent! Please put in a word for with the Church!"

A hand reached out through the iron bars, stopping the leader who had walked up to this point.

"Innocent... heh," Callum sneered, not even looking at the person.

"Every person who cos here uses that sa excuse. If the things you guys did had actually succeeded, would you still be calling yourself innocent?"

That outstretched hand instantly froze in mid-air.

"Don't give him any," Callum stopped his subordinate who was about to serve the food.

"The hearts of those crying innocence are all outside anyway, so their stomachs naturally won't be hungry. We'll talk again when their hearts return."

The several black-robed people carrying buckets imdiately bowed slightly: "Yes."

Callum continued walking and soon stopped in front of another prison cell.

The person inside didn't rush forward to wait for food but remained sitting on the weeds.

"Give him the portion of the guy just now as well," Callum ordered.

A black-robed person quickly walked to the iron fence and picked up the wooden ladle from the bucket.

"Wait, get him a bowl," Callum suddenly spoke up. "He was once a Papal Attendant and a Candidate Cardinal after all. We cannot be negligent."

"Yes," the black-robed person serving food quickly produced so tableware.

"Please enjoy, Lord Jolan," Callum smiled faintly.

Inside the cell, Jolan looked up.

Right now, his face was covered in a full beard, looking unkempt and disheveled. He was only wearing a white long-sleeved shirt, but its surface was also covered in gri. Only his eyes remained sharp.

"Your Excellency Warden, the Place of Suffering was originally a place for the guilty to self-reflect," Jolan said calmly.

"Since the Church deems guilty, how could I dare to monopolize such preferential treatnt."
