549. The Broken Dinsion!
The train, which Billy had feared would crash head-on into the wall, did not result in a deadly collision.
Just as the train was about to et the ancient bricks, the Rock of Eternity suddenly emitted a brilliant blue glow. This light spread along the position where the Rock of Eternity t the ceiling, flashing out from the gaps between the bricks.
In that mont, the brick wall in front of the train seed to co alive. It spontaneously began to move in an orderly fashion, section by section, unfolding into a deep, pitch-black passageway.
The train, without any obstruction, plunged headlong into the newly ford tunnel, and soon the scene outside the window was swallowed by complete darkness. There was no light source, except for the faint glow from inside the train.
"Ahhhhhh—!"
"Stop howling, senior!" Brainstorm couldn't help but speak up. "I can barely hear the radar now. Oh my god, what is this ancient technology?"
Billy Batson opened his eyes, noticing the calm faces of everyone around him. He silently closed his mouth and fell into awkward silence.
"Did we make it, Valeria?" Alex unbuckled his seatbelt and walked over to Brainstorm, curious.
"Mhm." Brainstorm responded with a slight hum. "We've entered the Broken Space Zone. This is the seam between different dinsions. We need to find the right path to continue."
"I only have a general direction. I've already inford Reed Richards. Didn't he design so specific routes?" Alex asked.
"Dad did input so route data, but he clearly forgot about the space compression folding effect. Tsk, I can't bla him though. After all, we are currently between the real dinsion and the quantum realm."
Brainstorm casually dropped so astounding statents, and even Alex could only barely grasp the aning.
"You an, the space we're in now is completely different from what Reed understood, right?"
"Yes. Dad is still using his old thods to handle the current problem, but he can't comprehend how different the situation is now."
In the Marvel Universe, the makeup of various dinsions was entirely different from that of the DC Universe. For Reed Richards, dealing with the Rock of Eternity was a first.
Not only that, but after Alex altered the connections between dinsions, their starting point was now between the real world and the quantum realm. In a sense, their starting point was completely opposite to what Reed Richards had designed.
"What do we do now?" Billy Batson asked anxiously.
"Easy. Just need to switch the map," Brainstorm said, shaking her finger before turning her head. "Bro, help out."
"Oh."
Upon hearing this, Franklin stood up.
Seeing that the most powerful extraordinary being in history was about to make a move, Alex beca curious. He stepped back to Billy's side and studied Franklin.
"Billy, weren't you curious about why his title is 'Psi-Lord'?"
Billy blinked in response to Alex's whisper. "Yeah, so what?"
Alex smiled slightly.
"You'll find out soon."
Standing beside his sister, Franklin stared into the darkness ahead of the train. His eyes began to glow with a cyan light.
Perhaps this Franklin was different from the one in the main universe— not every parallel world's Franklin possessed that unparalleled power.
For example, in the world where Deadpool killed the Marvel Universe, Franklin and his sister had tragically died at Deadpool's hands, killed in their sleep.
Perhaps it was the sa as with the planet devourers: every universe had powerful planet devourers. So were stronger, so weaker, but only the main universe's planet devourer was the strongest, and only he sealed the divine runes.
But even so, no matter how weak a planet devourer was, they were still a terrifying existence capable of destroying civilizations. No one dared to underestimate this ancient god of the universe.
The sa went for Franklin.
Even if he wasn't the Franklin from the main universe, the power he possessed was enough, given the chance to learn, master, and unleash it, to make everyone stop and take notice.
Raising his small hands, terrifying energy erupted imdiately.
In the dark environnt, cyan flashes of light appeared intermittently, and then pieces of shattered space seed to find their place, moving toward the front of the train.
To Billy's amazent, the space fragnts that could tear everything apart were transford into energy in Franklin's hands and ford into tracks ahead of the train.
At this mont, the seemingly endless path ahead finally showed so hope. The iron tracks, entirely made of space fragnts, led the train toward an unknown destination.
"My God."
Billy Batson's mouth fell open.
"Next, it's ti to test the radar's effectiveness."
Brainstorm watched this with a look of approval and delight. She then leaned over the control panel, eyes fixed on the flashing radar screen.
"Be careful, everyone. We are about to traverse the Broken Mirror Dinsion. The space here is highly unstable and very dangerous. Make sure you hold onto sothing!"
"Are you sure this train can withstand the spatial turbulence?" Billy asked Alex, looking concerned.
"With here, what's there to be afraid of? Even if it can't hold up, there's still ," Alex gave him a reassuring look, though his own expression grew more serious.
The Mirror Dinsion was no simple world. It was the dinsion closest to the real world, intricately connected to it. If this place broke, the danger would be unimaginable.
In the darkness, a deep white light appeared from afar, as if the tunnel had finally reached its exit. At that mont, the train suddenly accelerated.
The distance between them and the white light shrank rapidly. Billy Batson could now see the edges of the light, which seed to be made of spatial cracks like shattered mirrors.
Sinister fissures spread from the white light, radiating out like a spider's web in the darkness, creating a visual illusion of shifting shadows and light.
"What kind of place is the Mirror Dinsion?" Billy furrowed his brow.
"It's the backside of reality, a special dinsion that maintains the stability of the real dinsion. I once tried to cross into the Mirror Dinsion in the Wasteland Universe but failed. That's when I suspected sothing had gone wrong here," Alex explained slowly, his face also showing signs of concern as the train rushed into the Mirror Dinsion.
"Be careful. The road ahead is going to be a bit bumpy," Brainstorm's warning ca just in ti.
The next mont, the train shook violently, accompanied by sharp, crackling sounds.
The noises were coming from the outside, like hailstorm pounding against the train or soone unloading ammunition from a Gatling gun.
Hearing the anguished sounds from the train's exterior, Billy instinctively clenched his clothes.
At this mont, he couldn't help but feel nervous. Crossing into an unfamiliar world on a strange Earth, if it weren't for Alex sitting beside him, he never would have co here.
As the spatial fragnts twisted, the train officially plunged into the white light. The surrounding darkness was instantly dispersed, replaced by pitch-black clouds and colorful lightning storms.
Under the control of Franklin's telekinetic power, the train moved smoothly through the air, with tracks below constantly breaking apart and reappearing ahead.
At that mont, the scenery outside the window began to look even more dreamlike.
The entire view was divided by sinister spatial cracks. On their left, violent storms eroded the landscape, while on their right, a volcanic eruption spewed forth, with world-ending natural disasters unfolding in front of them.
"What is this…" Billy cautiously moved closer to the window, frowning as he looked outside.
"Fragnts of the Mirror Dinsion. They're reflections of reality. If I'm not mistaken, they are replaying the mont when the Mirror Dinsion shattered," Brainstorm speculated.
And sure enough, just as she guessed, in the midst of the violent storm, Billy witnessed a figure being pierced by an arrow through the heart, falling from the sky.
In the fiery, molten volcano, a massive figure slowly awakened. It pulled a gigantic sword from the lava and unleashed destructive flas onto the ground below.
"Yes, this is the scene from that battle," Alex sighed deeply as he watched the familiar sight.
After completely mastering the Wasteland Universe, all the events in the tiline could be backed up in the House of Mysteries. Combined with his mory of the original story, Alex imdiately recognized it.
"Unbelievable. Is this really sothing a group of supercriminals can do?" Billy muttered, stunned. If Darkseid brought ultimate power and destruction, then this scene completely overturned Billy's view of the world.
It was the first ti he had seen a dinsion destroyed in such a spectacular way due to a single battle.
And this was just what he could see. He couldn't even begin to imagine how many other dinsions were suffering similar disasters that were hidden from his view.
"So now you see why I had to create the Overseers. I don't want our reality to end up like this," Alex spoke solemnly.
Upon hearing this, Billy nodded heavily, clenching his fists.
The astonishing scene didn't last long, or perhaps it was changing so rapidly that ti seed to fly by.
Not just Earth, but the entire universe unfolded in this chaotic interplay of light and shadow. As civilizations plunged into ruin, everyone's faces grew somber.
At that mont, Brainstorm saw a light dot appear on the radar panel.
"Got it! Travelers, it seems our first destination dinsion is about to arrive," she said excitedly.
Upon hearing her words, Alex and Billy both turned their attention back from the view outside the window.
Without speaking, they both looked ahead. In the puzzle made up of pieces from the Mirror Dinsion, a reflection identical to the Hogwarts Express appeared before their eyes.
