530. The Call from the Old Bat.

After eting with Adrianna, Black Adam, and the two heroes from the Justice Society, Alex had also sorted out the details of what had happened here.

The entire incident was not too different from the plot in his mory. It all stemd from a misunderstanding due to an imbalance of information, as well as the personalities and stereotypes of the people involved.

If there was one difference, it would be the absence of the Atom Smasher and Cyclone, two young heroes. But that didn't matter much, as they were rely supporting characters in the original story.

Amanda Waller, the Congressional representative, did not appear either. It was unclear whether this universe simply lacked her or if she hadn't yet reached that position.

As for the entire situation and the ancient truths behind it, once Adrianna, Black Adam, Doctor Fate, and Hawkman compared the information they each knew, everything would be clear.

At the start, these individuals' deep-set stereotypes about each other severely affected their judgnt, causing them to be at odds with one another, ready to fight at the slightest provocation.

Now that they had truly fought, they had gained a better understanding of each other's combat abilities.

With Alex, an unknown and mysterious fourth party, involved, they temporarily set aside their grudges and began to communicate in earnest.

This was also why Alex had called them back. As an outsider, he didn't belong to any of their factions, and in this situation, even if he spoke the truth, the likelihood of them believing him was low.

So, it would be better to gather them all together and let them calmly share the information they each had. This way, the three individuals with extraordinary powers wouldn't continue causing trouble.

Originally, Alex had planned to just listen in, but he suddenly noticed his phone buzzing in his pocket.

This phone had been modified by Tim, and since Alex hadn't stored any contacts on it, theoretically, no one could contact him using that number.

Unless, of course, the caller had used the Bat-network.

With that thought in mind, Alex greeted everyone before heading to Amon's room, closing the door behind him and activating the soundproof barrier. He left Black Adam and the others to discuss the information among themselves.

Amon was a big fan of superheroes, and this was obvious from the decorations in his room.

His room not only had various action figures of Justice Society heroes, but also several hero posters.

If Alex rembered correctly, these were mbers of the Justice League in the original story, but here, they had all beco mbers of the Justice Society. He even saw a small Batman figurine.

Casually picking up the Batman figure, Alex answered the phone call.

"Hello, are you done with your eting?"

"Yeah, just finished." The voice of old Bruce Wayne ca through the phone. He wasn't surprised that Alex had guessed it was him calling. "Tim told you went to Kahndaq?"

"There might be sothing here that can help , so I ca to take a look. Don't worry, I won't cause you any trouble." Alex fiddled with the figurine, making Batman do a split.

"I'm not worried about that. You've always been very cautious," Bruce Wayne paused, then chuckled. "But the fact that you can get from Gotham to Kahndaq in an instant, it seems like in the years we haven't seen each other, you've gained a few more tricks up your sleeve."

Alex rolled his eyes, knowing that the phone must have a tracking feature.

He wasn't planning to hide anything, so he replied, "You can't navigate those dangerous multiverses without so tricks. I learned a bit of magic for self-defense—nothing too impressive, just a little parlor trick."

Hearing this, Bruce Wayne, who knew Alex well, didn't believe a word.

Years ago, Alex had co to him to request the relics of certain super-criminals and had demonstrated a deep understanding of how various items worked. That alone was enough to prove that Alex had kept quite a bit of critical information in his head.

Bruce Wayne had even made so assumptions. From his standpoint, if he had advance knowledge about other universes, he could also use that information to acquire various super-powered artifacts.

He had even imagined that if he could travel to a world where Barry Allen hadn't yet beco The Flash, he might be able to intercept the Speed Force lightning under the right circumstances.

So, now that he knew Alex had beco a super-powered individual, Bruce Wayne wasn't surprised in the least.

Not lingering on this topic, Bruce Wayne suddenly brought up the Justice Society.

"You must have t Doctor Fate and Hawkman by now. How are they, compared to what you rember?"

Upon hearing this, Alex began to recall. It seed that Doctor Fate and Hawkman had always been sowhat of a secondary role in the past, their combat abilities not particularly remarkable either.

"There's not much difference, except their personalities are a bit reckless."

"Heh, don't feel the need to spare their feelings. I've spent quite a bit of ti with them, so I know their temperant. People, especially those my age, getting powerful suddenly, it's natural for them to beco a little arrogant."

Alex didn't need to ask to know that the old Bat was referring to Doctor Fate.

It seed that this ancient god who preached order and justice hadn't left Batman with a good impression, which was understandable. After all, the old Bat had once wiped out many of Gotham's villains, and if it followed the will of Nabu, Batman would have been purged too.

"When I first t them, I only intended to form a team to deal with the alien war. But after actually interacting with them, I realized that these superhumans are far less obedient than Barry Allen."

"Barry is still just a kid. His moral compass is higher than that of most complicated adults. With good education, he can truly beco the hero who brings hope to others," Alex said.

"Yeah, but the other mbers of the Justice Society aren't so honest."

Bruce Wayne sighed lightly before speaking again.

"Take care of things in Kahndaq. Don't cause any trouble. The governnt's been keeping a close eye on the Justice Society recently, and I suspect they might have other plans."

"Other plans?" Alex paused for a mont, then thought of sothing. "You an they might try to form an organization similar to the Justice Society, but one controlled by their own congressional departnts?"

"Exactly. Officially, the Justice Society is under the banner of the United States and listens directly to the president. But in reality, everyone inside knows it's just a facade. They don't have the authority to issue missions from the Society's headquarters."

Sitting alone in a conference room, Bruce Wayne lightly tapped the desk with his fingers as he continued.

"I've also investigated secretly. The governnt has already started building a related departnt, and the data shows they're planning to form a secret task force. I haven't been able to get the personnel list yet, though."

"Recently, Gotham hasn't been too peaceful. The military's been wandering near the city, and I suspect their intentions aren't pure. But for now, I can't figure out what exactly they want."

Listening quietly to Bruce Wayne's account, Alex had a general understanding of the situation.

It seed the formation of the Justice Society had provoked so people who didn't want to let these superpowered individuals roam freely. Instead, they wanted to keep that power under their control.

This task force was likely the Suicide Squad from Alex's mory.

The squad was made up entirely of supervillains and anti-heroes. They only followed the governnt's orders, and each mber had a liquid bomb injected into their bodies. If they disobeyed, the governnt could kill them at will.

Once soone joined this task force, their life and death would be completely controlled by those in power.

They were sent on all kinds of dangerous and impossible missions, such as killing the Justice League, which is why the team was called the Suicide Squad.

Alex wasn't sure how those in power would go about collecting so many supervillains under the current circumstances.

Smiling slightly, Alex was about to tell Bruce Wayne not to worry, but suddenly, he thought of sothing. He stopped himself from saying it.

The impression he had of this place was still fresh in his mind, and Alex had assud that most of the villains here had been wiped out by the old Bat.

But upon further thought, while the Joker was dead, Harley Quinn had not made an appearance. It was possible that in this universe's current society, there was a girl who had beco obsessively infatuated with the Joker and transford into Harley Quinn. It wasn't an impossible scenario.

Killer Croc was dead, but King Shark was still around. There were also Captain Boorang, Captain Cold, Heatwave, the original Ratcatcher, and a series of new supervillains who had erged.

If you counted the current Justice Society's enemies, such as Deadshot, the Fearso Five, and Doctor Destiny, it would be easy to put together a new Suicide Squad.

"It seems like you've got quite a bit of trouble on your hands. If those people really manage to form that squad, it might cause a huge impact on the Justice Society," Alex rubbed his temples.

"That's what I'm worried about. Since the Justice Society was founded, it's been under pressure from all sides. Even though I've secretly blocked so of it, there are still many people watching us closely."

"Superheroes can fail too. Everyone knows this. What they really want is the extraordinary abilities of the heroes," Bruce Wayne said seriously.

"We're missing a pillar for the Justice Society. They need soone with extrely powerful combat ability, soone who can threaten everyone, an invincible figure."

Bruce Wayne paused, making sure Alex understood.

"Only then will those with ulterior motives quiet down."
