486. Ready to Explode!

Inside the elevator of Vought Tower, Holander and Starlight stood facing the elevator doors, the atmosphere unnervingly tense.

This wasn't the first ti Starlight had shared an elevator with Holander. Although they were both superheroes and could easily leap from windows without harm, they usually acted just like normal people when it ca to elevators.

Even soone as powerful as Holander, who could fly and move through any terrain, still took the elevator unless he had a special mission.

Given that the enemy had already reached their doorstep, one would expect Holander to be eager to confront Soldier Boy imdiately.

However, what intrigued Starlight was that he wasn't rushing to the battlefield but instead was leisurely riding the elevator.

Carefully turning her head, Starlight could clearly see the beads of sweat on Holander's forehead and the fluctuating emotions in his eyes.

Could he be afraid?

Starlight dared not even breathe too loudly, worried that any unnecessary movent might provoke the volatile ti bomb standing next to her.

Holander was too unpredictable now. No one could tell what was truly going on in his mind or predict his next move.

If soone with such terrifying combat power like Holander truly lost control, it would be disastrous for the entire world.

Starlight wasn't sure what would happen next. She wasn't certain whether Soldier Boy was stronger than Holander, but she speculated that Soldier Boy probably wouldn't be able to defeat him.

Although Soldier Boy had left behind many legendary tales in his ti, he was a figure of the past. Besides, Starlight had searched all the information in her mind and found no evidence that Soldier Boy could fly.

This ant that even if Soldier Boy could surpass Holander in combat power, he wouldn't have the ability to keep him here.

As long as Holander wanted to escape, no one could stop him. In this scenario, the only victims of the battle between Holander and Soldier Boy would be the innocent people caught in the middle.

Whether the protesters were ordinary people or superhumans, this wasn't a battle they should be involved in. Even the aftermath of the battle could cause horrific casualties.

Thinking about this made Starlight's heart race.

Perhaps her heartbeat was too loud, for Holander slowly turned his head. He stared at his reflection in the elevator doors, and after a long silence, he broke it.

"Edgar once said that your stance is up for debate. Now is the perfect ti. I need your answer, Starlight. Which side are you on?"

"Friend or foe?"

Hearing Holander's deadly question, Starlight struggled to swallow, her thoughts in complete chaos.

"You're a smart person, and smart people know which side to stand on," Holander continued, his tone serious.

"I believe you know what choice to make. We're the Seven. Even if Maeve and the others fail, we are still invincible. They're just a bunch of rabble, while we have countless superheroes on our side."

"But this will cause casualties."

Starlight hesitated, but before she could finish her sentence, Holander cut her off with brutal force.

"Don't talk about that damned casualty anymore!"

With a swift motion, he grabbed Starlight by the throat and slamd her against the elevator wall.

Fortunately, Vought Tower's facilities were specially designed, or the sheer force of the impact would have destroyed the elevator.

Staring at Starlight with a ferocious expression, Holander growled.

"You care so much about those ordinary people, huh? Now Vought is barely holding on, and after Vought is gone, what do you think soone like you will be worth?"

A wave of suffocation hit Starlight. She frantically grabbed at Holander's hand around her neck, her legs kicking wildly in desperation.

However, her struggles were as futile as a rabbit's resistance against a predator. Holander didn't care about her movents and continued speaking.

"Their goal is to destroy Vought. But once the Vought Group falls, what do you think they'll do next, huh? Do you think Vought is evil? Do you think conducting those damned human experints is evil?"

Holander's eyes glowed with red light as he spoke every word deliberately.

"Have you ever considered what would happen if Vought hadn't united the superhumans? What do you think humans would do to superhumans? Don't you think the military or other forces want to study the secrets of superhumans?!"

"I… I don't know." Starlight struggled to speak, her voice barely a whisper.

"Of course you don't know, because you're just a country girl," Holander sneered.

Seeing Starlight's face turning red from the lack of oxygen, Holander's killing intent beca even more apparent. He gritted his teeth and coldly said.

"I am perfect. The Seven is perfect. I will not allow the world's greatest superhero organization to be tarnished by a traitor."

Starlight, seeing the growing redness in Holander's eyes, struggled more desperately, truly feeling the approach of death.

The strength around her neck tightened, and just as Holander was about to snap her neck, a sudden sound rang out.

Ding!

The elevator doors slowly opened, revealing the scene of the first floor lobby of Vought Tower.

Blinking, Holander turned to look and realized they had sohow reached the first floor. Through the walls, he could clearly see Soldier Boy standing at the front of the crowd.

His throat moved as he swallowed, and Holander's eyelids twitched.

With a faint, dry lip press, Holander hesitated for a mont before suddenly throwing Starlight into the corner of the elevator. The imnse force of the impact caused the elevator space to warp.

Once freed from Holander's grip and regaining oxygen, Starlight gasped for breath. But then, a sharp pain hit her, and she knew she had definitely broken a few bones.

Holander's mind was just as disordered. He didn't even know what he was doing anymore. Attacking Starlight had only been a way for him to vent. Initially, he had indeed intended to kill her.

But now that he had casually thrown her away, he didn't plan on continuing the attack.

"If you're not going to stand on my side, then just stay here," he muttered to himself as he turned and walked toward the exit.

In the elevator, only Starlight remained, struggling to endure the pain, half of her body embedded in the elevator wall.

Outside Vought Tower, Soldier Boy had reached the front of the crowd, facing the superheroes maintaining order.

The appearance of Soldier Boy stunned not only the second- and third-tier superheroes but also left the protesters uncertain.

"My god."

"Is that really him? Am I seeing things?"

"Soldier Boy, it's really Soldier Boy!"

"Is this the legendary Soldier Boy? He hasn't aged a bit!"

"I knew it! I knew Soldier Boy wasn't dead!"

"What's he doing here?"

"Is he on our side?"

"He should be a hero for Vought, though. It's hard to say which side he's on."

"But didn't Vought say Soldier Boy was dead?"

"Who knows how much Vought is hiding?"

Facing this most famous superhero in history, the leader of the team Ezekiel could not help but feel nervous.

For middle-aged second- and third-tier superheroes like them, Soldier Boy had been their idol as they grew up, their most revered hero.

"Soldier Boy…"

The Termite approached Soldier Boy, his voice trembling.

It wasn't fear; he was just so excited to et his idol in person that he almost lost the ability to speak.

Moreover, like most people, everyone knew Soldier Boy was the blood-for-blood leader, and the blood-for-blood organization was founded by Vought.

Although no one knew why Soldier Boy, who was believed to be dead, had reappeared, the Termite guessed that he was probably still aligned with Vought.

But to his surprise, Soldier Boy didn't even glance at him. Hearing his voice, Soldier Boy coldly responded.

"Who the hell are you?"

"I…" The termite choked, unsure of how to reply.

At this mont, Polarity, one of the older superheroes, stepped forward. He had t Soldier Boy before in his youth.

"Soldier Boy, do you rember ? You once gave a speech at our school, and the things you said have always inspired ," Polarity said.

"I don't rember any little characters, and especially not any of your kind." Soldier Boy said, showing no kindness.

Soldier Boy wasn't being polite to them. In fact, he had co here for revenge. He had no interest in pleasantries with these troubleso individuals.

"Don't block the way, you trash. Get out of my way. I've got a score to settle with Edgar, that old fool."

Hearing this, the termite furrowed his brows. If anyone else had spoken to him like this, he would have slapped them across the face by now.

But facing Soldier Boy, even though he was being so aggressive, the Termite eventually spoke in a calm tone.

"Sorry, Mr. Edgar's orders are clear—no one is allowed to enter Vought Tower, not even you. I must…"

Boom!

Before the Termite could finish, Soldier Boy struck. With a powerful swing of his eagle shield, the imnse force sent the Termite flying through the air.

No one had ti to react. Not even the Termite could activate his abilities in ti. No one expected Soldier Boy to attack.

Polarity's face darkened, his eyes narrowing dangerously at Soldier Boy.

With his abilities, he could control Soldier Boy's shield, but the speed at which Soldier Boy acted was so fast that even Polarity didn't have ti to react.

The Termite crashed heavily into the front doors of Vought Tower, shattering the glass upon impact.

Seeing this, the superheroes guarding the entrance of Vought Tower imdiately froze in shock, quickly preparing for battle.

Although they didn't know why Soldier Boy had co here, his actions had already made one thing clear:

Today was not going to end well.
