A week before the Oscar ceremony, Martin had arrived at Rosarito Island.
This place boasts Hollywood's largest production area in xico.
Nurous nautical films, including "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Master and Commander," with scenes involving sailing and naval battles, were essentially fild here.
It's all because of what is touted as the world's largest infinity pool for shooting.
The pool's creator was Jas Caron.
That's right, it was originally dug out for the filming of "Titanic."
The primary beach shooting location recomnded by the exterior crew was also on Rosarito Island.

Standing on the high slopes of the golden beach, Martin looked through the viewfinder, observing the opposite beach and bay.
Cinematography Director Dan Rothenstein had his assistant set up the tripod and film the wide-angle scene with the cara.
There weren't many tourists on the opposite beach, but there were seven or eight people playing with surfing and windsurfing in the sea, occasionally falling into the water but quickly climbing back on.
Martin asked, "Dan, I think this place is great, take a look over there." He put down the viewfinder and pointed towards the far left front, "There's a reef area at the end of the beach, which is great for framing shots."
The two had plenty of discussions back in Los Angeles. Rothenstein said, "This bay is nice, let's go down and take a look."
"Let's go, we'll head down to et the professionals." Martin descended the slope, walked along a path by the coconut grove for a while, and made his way down to the beach from the gentle slope.
Nearing the shore, Martin heard soone shouting at him.
Amid a wave, Blake Lively, dressed in an orange bikini, stood on a surfboard, battling the waves.
She did an aerial spin, didn't land steadily, and fell into the sea.
Quickly, she climbed back onto the board and paddled toward the beach.
Beside her, a tall woman in a red bikini watched closely.
This was the surfing coach hired for Blake, who would also act as her stunt double during shooting.
Blake got up from the water, carrying the surfboard over to Martin.
After a period of swimming, fitness, and surfing training, Blake's figure had improved even more.
Purely in terms of fitness and sex appeal, Blake undoubtedly stood at the pinnacle of Hollywood.
She ran up to Martin, threw her surfboard onto the beach, intending to hug him and get his clothes all wet, but noticing the viewfinder in his hand and realizing he was working, she just held his arm and asked, "Want to go for a swim?"
"Another day," Martin continued using his viewfinder to observe, "I still have a lot of work to do today."
Blake understood Martin's style and didn't say any more.
Cinematograph Director Rothenstein and his crew followed, setting up the tripod for the cara, continuing to film the scenery here.
Surfing coach Bruna also ca ashore.
Martin put down the viewfinder, and asked the professional, "How's the surfing conditions here?"
"Excellent," Bruna was full of praise, "The sea here seems calm, but periodically, waves surge up, not too big, especially suitable for those just past beginner level in water sports."
Martin had also been observing the conditions of the waves.
Blake earnestly said, "I can handle waves like today."
Martin nodded, changed a few angles and positions to observe and was quite pleased with this beach.
He imdiately called a producer who was with him, instructing him to inquire if shooting on the beach was convenient.
Since Hollywood crews had been shooting here long term, and had established a massive production base, security on Rosarito Island was good by xican standards, and while local gangs were certainly present, even the dimst of criminals knew not to ss with the crews from Hollywood, Arica.
These were the lessons learned through the blood and lives of those who ca before.
The group left the beach and headed straight to the infinity pool production center not far away.
Surrounding the enormous pool, the production studio had built a large area of soundstages.
Martin decided if the exterior scenes were to be shot here, those needing set construction would naturally be placed nearby.
Strictly speaking, all the scenes in the film occur on "The Beach"; there are no interior scenes.
However, many close-ups involving sharks and the female lead were actually not suitable to be fild in the complicated environnt of the sea.
Martin planned to build a large pool resembling a beach inside a soundstage for filming.
This studio area is often used by Hollywood crews for filming water-related scenes, and many soundstages have large pools built inside them.
Having made arrangents with the production studio, Martin went directly to one of the soundstages, walked around the pool to ascertain that the size was adequate, and imdiately instructed his people to start negotiations.
Afterward, Martin gathered the art and set decoration crews that had followed, and said, "Set up the pool to resemble the beach, sign the contract here and get started imdiately."
After a busy day, returning to the hotel where they were staying, it was already dark.
After dinner, Blake Lively followed Martin into his room and flopped down on the sofa, clutching a pillow and said, "I'm so tired!"
Martin went behind her and massaged her shoulders, "You've worked hard these past few months."
