Even beauty and acting skills hardly count as capital, many roles could be replaced by anyone without making much difference.
Nastya, who spoke decent English, asked, "I found this issue suspicious and imdiately contacted Mr. Alexandrovich after hearing about it."
Martin said flatly, "It's definitely a scam. I can tell you, while the company listed might be real, and the contact info is indeed from Los Angeles, even the investnt projects listed are real, but no movie company searches for actors this way."
Erica suddenly realized, "No wonder I felt sothing was off, it really is a scam."
Nastya and Misha stared at her simultaneously.
But the naive blond didn't catch on, "Why are you looking at with those eyes?"
Defeated, Nastya simply said, "Erica might not have been the only one to receive this ssage. Hopefully, the finals won't be affected."
Martin gave her a look, the twenty-year-old brunette had made quite an impression on him, and he said, "Just focus on your rehearsals, the finals will go smoothly."
Alexandrovich and Martin exchanged glances and said, "Let's not discuss this matter publicly yet. We will conduct an investigation, all right?"
Confused, Erica was about to speak when Nastya pulled her aside and quickly said, "We definitely won't spread the word."
The trio of Nastya then left the eting room.
Turning down the corridor and entering the elevator area, Misha appeared sowhat disappointed, "So, there's no reward?"
Erica responded, "We avoided a trap though."
Nastya saw the bigger picture, "Don't focus on the now, today we made an impression on Martin and Alexandrovich. If there's a backing force behind this ss, it's better if other powers interfere, we will surely reap the benefits in the future."
Confused, Erica asked, "The more you speak, the more complicated it sounds, doesn't it?"
Nastya pushed her into the elevator, "Those people wouldn't be after just you, naive gal."
Misha's mind also turned, "How can you think this much?"
Nastya shrugged, "When you join two different talent shows, not because of lack of skill, but both tis sidelined, you start thinking too."
Erica said, "Even if I failed ten tis, I wouldn't think like that."
...
Inside the eting room, Martin waited until Alexandrovich had reviewed the docunts Nastya and her friends had brought. He then let Bruce take a close look.
Bruce stated, "I've heard of this company. It's been around for a long ti, involved solely in investnt, never in independent production."
Alexandrovich, no newbie to these dealings, speculated, "Using movie investnt as a front for money laundering?"
Bruce shook his head, "That I'm not sure of, I've only heard about it and never paid much attention."
Martin instructed, "Find out more about this company from our Los Angeles contacts." Then he looked at Alexandrovich, "The contestants in the finals, even if they don't win, you have plans for them, right?"
Alexandrovich stated, "They will beco either contracted actors or singers of the company. These people want to rob our assets! I will expedite the signing process."
Martin, less concerned about the contracts, countered, "Even if they sign, if they run off to Western Europe or Los Angeles, what then?"
Alexandrovich, being no ordinary man, declared, "We'll take a dual approach: contractually obligate the contestants and secretly launch an investigation to root out all the bastards trying to steal our assets!"
Martin noted that the latter thod was crucial, saying, "The dance teacher Olga is a lead, have soone monitor her 24/7 and see who she contacts."
After a pause, he added, "Notify Lebrov, we might need more people."
Alexandrovich imdiately called Lebrov to discuss, ensuring surveillance on both Nokia and Olga.
Soon, Lebrov arrived at the hotel. The Saintess Pop Group talent show hosted by 1 1 TV Channel was the most significant program of the year besides "Servant of the People," and they couldn't afford any slip-ups.
The three discussed the recent developnts and decided to coordinate these two fronts together.
Ukrainian beauties, like prey in the eyes of a Hyena, were too easily targeted.
...
Upon receiving the notification, Nokia changed into sportswear that was easy to move in, took the elevator down, and quietly walked out of the hotel alone towards the nearby burger joint.
On the way, she looked around as if not wanting to be spotted.
Two n quietly followed her, one with a cara taking pictures.
The other asked, "Shall we make a move?"
The one with the cara shook his head, "Too many people, she's heading to McDonald's."
Nokia pushed open the door and went inside McDonald's, while the two n stood guard outside.
Just minutes later, Nokia re-erged carrying a paper bag and quickly made her way back toward the hotel entrance.
Given the short distance and crowded comrcial area, the n dared not make a move.
As Nokia entered the main entrance of the hotel, the one with the cara said, "You keep watch, I'll go report."
Without waiting for a response, he walked towards a BMW parked to the front left of the hotel, cautiously scanning his surroundings to ensure no one was watching, and gently knocked on the driver-side door of the BMW.
The car window rolled down.
anwhile, from a small building thirty ters away, soone used a high-powered lens to snap continuous shots, capturing both inside and outside of the car.
In the BMW, the bearded Victor stated, "Continue watching here, I'll go check another location."
He started the car and left the grand street where the hotel was located, heading towards where Olga lived.
Today, Olga had handed over docunts to two relatively naive contestants, preparing to deliver those contestants' docunts.
Victor parked his car by a park near Olga's community and waited a while before Olga got into the car.
In the brief mont the car door opened and closed, he too was photographed.
