Capítulo 868: Chapter 374: Dividends
Allen: My good brother, your thoughts are just like mine. I think we are truly a match made in heaven!
Dominic: I’m not gay… And I don’t agree that our thoughts are the sa. At least, I don’t have that many girlfriends.
Allen: Living the billionaire lifestyle, can that be called promiscuous? That’s just being carefree! I’m just trying my best to help more girls, to lead them to a better life!
Dominic: Got it.
The two chatted for a while longer. It was a rare mont for the General Sect Leader to enjoy a relaxed holiday until Chief Lei Luo sent a ssage. Allen took a look and found it was about the human resources given to the Drug Enforcent Bureau last ti, including the subsequent bonus split.
Allen: Are you really giving it? I was just joking with you. How much is your bonus?
Chief Lei Luo: Wasn’t this sothing we already agreed upon? I’m not the type to go back on my word—50% of the bonus profit, 15 million! Mr. Jin, where are you now? In Los Angeles? I’ll drive over to bring you the bonus.
Allen: That much? Are you sure that’s your bonus? Alright, I’m at ho. Just co over.
He sent his location to Chief Lei Luo and looked a bit surprised.
If I rember correctly, the total value of that haul was just over 30 million US dollars. So, after you guys at the Drug Enforcent Bureau recovered the illicit funds and property, you still tried to find a way to flip them?
No wonder you’re called Chief Lei Luo. You really live up to your na!
Allen was filled with amazent. After waiting for a while in the villa, Chief Lei Luo soon drove over, and the vehicle stopped at the entrance, honking its horn.
Allen went out to take a look, and wow, a Rolls-Royce Cullinan? How co it’s the sa luxury car as the General Sect Leader’s?
How much have you pocketed?
Impressive, indeed.
The General Sect Leader opened the villa’s security door and waved in greeting, “Hello, Chief Lei Luo.”
“Long ti no see, Mr. Jin!” Chief Lei Luo responded enthusiastically, lowering his car window to greet.
Allen walked over and circled his car, hesitatingly saying, “Chief Lei Luo, this car must be expensive, huh?”
“Expensive or not, it’s an old luxury car, not worth much, but the maintenance cost is high, so basically no one wants to buy it. I got it cheaply at an auction.”
Chief Lei Luo said: “It was thanks to the Luo City police departnt’s efforts a couple of days ago. They raided a drug ring in the suburbs, arrested them, and sentenced them to 400 years in a private prison; their assets were all seized. We, the Drug Enforcent Bureau, didn’t get the tip-off, so the local police had to endure our complaints and grudgingly transferred so of the drug lords’ assets to us at a low price, so everyone got a piece!”
“My colleague bought a foreclosed house, I don’t need a place to live, so I chose to buy a luxury car to drive around! When I need money, I’ll sell it then.”
Chief Lei Luo, facing joyous events, was visibly in high spirits. After getting out of the car, he couldn’t hide the joy on his face.
“Mr. Jin, I also want to thank you for the gift you sent us last ti. Thanks to our success in tackling the Gulf Group, they’ve decided to promote and raise my salary! They’ve now opened a new office specifically for , and I am now the Deputy Director of the Drug Enforcent Bureau stationed in the Los Angeles office.”
“Congratulations, Director Lei Luo,” Allen imdiately congratulated him.
From the head of the duty officers to the nominal second-in-command of the Luo City Drug Enforcent Bureau, although it’s a level promotion, the weight is entirely different.
In the event of any issues, the director just needs to make a call from the office, and the people below will be running around tirelessly. If there’s a problem, they don’t bear responsibility; the risk is all theirs, while the credit is all his. It’s a golden position, and the money to be made is much greater!
“Right now, it’s still the deputy position; becoming permanent requires so ti and qualifications,” Lei Luo waved it off and didn’t talk more about it. He then opened the trunk, laboriously lifted out two large briefcases, and handed them to the General Sect Leader.
“This is the bonus split I promised you earlier, even though I know, Mr. Jin, you’ve got a big family business and might not care about such a small amount, but it’s a token of my appreciation. Please accept it.”
Allen opened one of the briefcases and took a look; it was filled to the brim with cash, US dollars. He looked at Deputy Director Lei Luo aningfully, “Where did your Drug Enforcent Bureau sell that batch of goods to? Weren’t they destroyed?”
“Don’t misunderstand, Mr. Jin. We indeed destroyed that batch of goods. Our Drug Enforcent Bureau would never do such a two-faced act. The reason there’s so much money is mainly due to our progress over in xico, where I was fortunate to be involved. We cracked down on and held the Gulf Group accountable, dealt with so of their processing facilities, money laundering institutions, smuggling trade ships, casinos, and the like.”
Deputy Director Lei Luo said: “This money is compensation paid by the Gulf Group to the Arican people, as part of their desperate attempt to cut losses and survive. It’s precisely because of those witnesses and evidence that we had a pretext to tackle their illegal activities. The Gulf Group lost at least three billion over this! This money is just a small portion, and their behind-the-scenes investors lost a lot of money too! At least this much!”
Deputy Director Lei Luo held up five fingers.
Allen understood imdiately; no wonder those behind-the-scenes investors acted like mad dogs, seeking revenge against the General Sect Leader, even resorting to using viruses as a weapon. They lost tens of billions.
If the General Sect Leader had his business ruined, losing that much money, he’d also be itching for the other party to perish quickly!
“You at the Drug Enforcent Bureau have offended so many people. Aren’t you afraid of retaliation? What about the CIA?” Allen asked.
“No worries. Our Drug Enforcent Bureau is conducting regular operations, and we do have backers behind us. They wouldn’t dare openly accuse us, maybe just make trouble secretly. However, Mr. Jin, you might need to be a bit cautious lately,” Lei Luo advised, “They might target your business.”
“I understand, but I don’t think they’ll go too far, since I don’t have any business that they could actually target,” Allen nonchalantly replied, “But I do appreciate you bringing over the bonus. Would you like to co in for a cup of tea?”
“No need for tea, I have other matters to attend to. The main reason I ca over was to remind you to be cautious and deliver this fund,” Lei Luo said before getting back into his car, extending an invitation, “We, at the Drug Enforcent Bureau, are having a party in the city center tonight—a celebration. If Mr. Jin has ti, you are welco to join.”
“If there are beauties, I’d be happy to,” Allen chuckled.
“I’m sorry to disappoint you; the Drug Enforcent Bureau is full of single, divorced middle-aged n who haven’t even started a family. We’d love to invite beautiful colleagues to the party, but unfortunately, there are none! If you want beauties at the party, you’ll have to bring your own,” Lei Luo said helplessly.
“Then it’s not worth it, is it?” Allen imdiately declined. “Aren’t your parties all about the little extras thrown in, like stuffing dumplings?”
If it’s not a silver party, why bother? It’s completely contrary to your usual style.
“Well, I have other things to do, so I’ll head out now. Let’s et another day, Mr. Jin.” Lei Luo waved before turning the car around and hitting the gas, leaving the villa.
“Goodbye,” Allen watched him leave, then fell into deep thought.
Lei Luo’s reminder was indeed well-intentioned, but their intelligence was too outdated. Planning to retaliate against the General Sect Leader? Sorry, those behind-the-scenes masterminds were almost all wiped out by the killer squad the General Sect Leader sent!
By the ti it’s over, there won’t be a single one left.
Allen was in great spirits, humming a song as he carried the two large bags of cash and paper currency back into the villa.
