Chapter 968: 330, please step into the urn_2
Bobby Mozelle didn’t say anything.
Initially, when they first arrived, they thought Donnie was deliberately keeping them waiting, but when they saw Paul Warburg arrive, they realized Donnie was indeed waiting for an important guest.
Moreover, the Sachs father and son had already guessed that Paul Warburg’s visit to Donnie this ti was very likely concerning the IPO of Trident Shipyard.
Even though Kuhn, Loeb & Co. consortium doesn’t have a company handling such business, everyone on Wall Street knows that Paul Warburg maintains excellent relationships with the two founders of Gordon-Blalock Securities.
So, the Sachs father and son were deeply worried.
Now, seeing Paul Warburg leave, Walter Sachs imdiately said excitedly.
Seymour Sachs, however, managed to remain composed: “It seems like we are up next. Later, we must have a good discussion with Donnie about the IPO of Trident Shipyard!”
“Mm!” Walter Sachs nodded heavily.
In the end, they waited for half a day without seeing Donnie’s assistant co to invite them in, leaving them both humiliated and more anxious!
“Father!” Walter Sachs looked at Seymour Sachs with eyes filled with equal parts worry and anger.
“Wait!” Seymour Sachs said sternly, “Since we’ve already decided to approach Donnie, we should be prepared for situations like this!”
Walter Sachs reluctantly sat back down.
The father and son continued to sit there until 11 o’clock, and just as Walter Sachs was about to lose patience, Bobby Mozelle finally arrived.
“Mr. Sachs, both of you, my boss is now available. You may go in to see him!”
Walter Sachs bolted upright, while Seymour Sachs stood up more slowly: “Thank you, Mr. Mozelle!”
They then headed toward Donnie’s office.
When the father and son saw Donnie, he set down the docunts he was working on and looked up.
“Please, have a seat!”
The two Sachs n sat down across from Donnie.
“Gentlen, I had assud you would have understood my position already!”
Donnie said coldly.
Seymour Sachs showed a regretful expression and said, “Mr. Block, last ti’s incident was Goldman Sachs’ mistake, but please allow us to explain!”
Donnie waved his hand and said, “It’s nothing more than saying that you were forced into a situation and had no choice but to act, right?”
Seymour Sachs replied earnestly, “Although this explanation does sound feeble, the actual circumstances truly were as such. Mr. Block, you should understand that so situations are not within our control; we can’t always dictate what happens!”
After he finished speaking, Seymour Sachs gazed intently at Donnie, and upon seeing Donnie slowly nod, he felt a sliver of delight in his heart!
“Mr. Sachs, I accept your explanation, but I do not see why I should bear the cost of your difficulties. If we collaborate this ti and you find yourselves under pressure from others again, wouldn’t it an I’d suffer betrayal once more?
Therefore, I believe it’s better if we don’t collaborate in the future!”
Donnie’s words sent Seymour Sachs into a state of despair, though his strong ntal resilience quickly restored his composure.
“Mr. Block, I can assure you that such a situation will never happen again, and moreover…” Seymour Sachs paused, choosing his words carefully before continuing.
“Moreover, Mr. Block, Venus Bank is also a shareholder in Goldman Sachs. The developnt of Goldman Sachs genuinely serves to advance Venus Bank’s growth positively.”
Donnie sighed and said, “Mr. Sachs, don’t you realize that it’s precisely because of this relationship that I agreed to et with you today? If we didn’t have this connection, I wouldn’t have seen you at all!”
Seymour Sachs nodded quickly and replied, “Mr. Block, I appeal to you to prioritize this connection and grant us so ti to present Goldman’s IPO proposal for Trident Shipyard. I can assure you that no company on Wall Street can match the quality of our proposal!”
Donnie fell into silence.
This mont filled Seymour Sachs with imnse excitent because at least Donnie had shifted from outright rejection to consideration—aning their chances had increased from zero to boundless opportunities!
“Forget it. Regarding Trident Shipyard’s IPO, I’ve already found a suitable partner for collaboration. Since I’ve promised the other party, I must uphold my loyalty to my partner. I don’t want to compromise my existing alliances!”
Donnie’s ultimate response sent Seymour Sachs plumting from imnse joy to profound disappointnt once again.
“Fine!” Donnie suddenly said, “Today, I’ve witnessed your sincerity, Mr. Sachs. Honestly, I remain optimistic about Goldman Sachs’ growth. If not, I wouldn’t have continued holding Goldman’s stocks after that incident!”
Seymour Sachs clutched his chest; the intense emotional rollercoaster took its toll on the heart of this seventy-plus-year-old man.
“What is it exactly that Mr. Block is referring to?”
Donnie replied, “To tell you the truth, not only do I aim to list Trident Shipyard but I’m also working on the IPO of United Artists. If Mr. Sachs is interested in this matter, I’d be willing to take a look at your proposal!”
