After concluding the opening ceremony for Ares Arsenal, Donnie attended several gala events organized by New Jersey state officials, including ones hosted by Governor Edwards and the newly-appointed Speaker, Damai Jas.
Previously, when Donnie was building Trident Shipyard, he had promised Damai Jas to dismiss Aman Louis and appoint Damai Jas as Speaker.
However, Donnie’s true intention was not to remove Aman Louis, so Damai Jas did not beco Speaker at that ti.
Regarding this matter, Damai Jas naturally felt sowhat displeased.
But he did not have the courage to oppose Donnie’s decision!
With the conclusion of the election, Aman Louis officially stepped down from the position of New Jersey State Assembly Speaker, and Donnie fulfilled his promise by promoting Damai Jas to be the new Speaker of New Jersey!
This caused any lingering dissatisfaction in Damai Jas’s heart to vanish completely.
On the night before Donnie left Trenton, he t with Sambu Kalasa, a State Senator in New Jersey!
“Not getting the Speaker’s position this ti – does it make you a little unhappy?”
Donnie sat on the couch, handing Sambu Kalasa a freshly lit cigar.
Compared to Damai Jas, Sambu Kalasa was Donnie’s closest collaborator among New Jersey state legislators!
Sambu Kalasa chuckled and said, “Rest assured, Mr. Block, I understand your plan, and besides, my credentials indeed make unsuitable for holding the Speaker’s office this term!”
As ntioned before, in the United States, credentials matter greatly — unless you belong to prominent families like Taft or Roosevelt, climbing the ranks in the legislature still requires patience.
Donnie did not care whether Sambu Kalasa’s remarks were genuine; as long as he showed this attitude in front of him, it sufficed!
“I’ve already placed young Kalasa in the position of Head of the Investnt Departnt at Venus Bank. I trust his abilities will be up to the task.”
Young Kalasa was Sambu Kalasa’s son.
Sambu Kalasa expressed gratitude to Donnie, saying, “To receive Mr. Block’s personal arrangent is truly his honor!”
Donnie nodded and said to Sambu Kalasa, “Next, you need to build more connections in the legislature. Once Damai Jas completes his term, it will be your ti to rise!”
Sambu Kalasa exhibited joy but then worriedly remarked, “I don’t think Damai intends to only serve one term, does he?”
Donnie waved dismissively and said, “That’s not sothing he gets to decide!”
Regarding the arrangents in Atlantic City and New Jersey, Donnie had long made plans.
Brad Dorn would serve two terms as Mayor of Atlantic City, after which Donnie would support Brad Dorn’s bid for New Jersey Governor.
At that point, Edwards would make way for Brad Dorn… According to the U.S. Constitution from the 1980s, the New Jersey Governor held significantly stronger autonomous powers, coupled with longer re-election terms compared to other states.
Once Brad Dorn beca New Jersey Governor and Sambu Kalasa beca State Assembly Speaker, Donnie’s control over New Jersey would rise another level!
If both had further potential for advancent in their political careers, Donnie would continue to support them.
Sambu Kalasa expressed his gratitude to Donnie, saying, “Thank you, Mr. Block. I will definitely not disappoint you!”
The day after his eting with Sambu Kalasa, Donnie returned to Atlantic City.
But this ti, Donnie didn’t go to the seaside manor; instead, he went to John’s residence.
The reason was simple – John’s wife was pregnant!
This made Donnie very happy, as it ant the Block Family wouldn’t face manpower shortages in its third generation.

Seeing John’s hearty laughter, Donnie asked knowingly, “Think about what?”
“I’m impressive, right?” John failed to understand Donnie’s teasing, leaving Donnie’s question unanswered.
“Impressive!” Donnie imdiately lost interest in the conversation!
John laughed and said, “I’ve already called Dad. He and Mom will arrive in Atlantic City tomorrow!”
Donnie suggested, “If they find it difficult to travel, maybe they should just stay in Atlantic City, so they don’t have to make frequent trips here!”
John shook his head, saying, “I’ve already ntioned it, but Dad insists that soone from the Block Family has to keep an eye on Elwood Village, so he won’t move here!”
Elwood Village was still Donnie’s largest base for bootlegging operations in the United States!
Hearing this, Donnie didn’t say much. “Alright, anyway, whatever he needs, we can send it over promptly from here!”
John nodded and then happily said, “Donnie, I have a premonition!”
Donnie asked curiously, “What kind of premonition?”
“My son will definitely be smarter than yours in the future!” John said gleefully.
“You must be dreaming!” Donnie replied, patting John on the shoulder!
