Chapter 877: Luring soone into a trap
“Paul, if you’ve co to Atlantic City just for The New York Tis, I would feel disrespected by the Warburg family!”
After eting with Donnie, these were the first words that Donnie said to Paul Warburg.
This gave Paul Warburg an even more direct sense of Donnie’s dissatisfaction with The New York Tis!
“Alright, since you’ve put it that way, Donnie, I won’t talk about Adolf Ochs anymore!”
Now that Paul Warburg clearly understood Donnie’s stance, he knew he couldn’t talk about this matter anymore.
“That’s what our friend from New Jersey should be talking about!”
Donnie said cheerfully.
Paul Warburg also smiled, but he didn’t imdiately inquire about new investnts from Donnie; instead, he showed concern for his niece.
“Donnie, Zhan Ning has been in Atlantic City for a while now. Is she adjusting well to the life here?”
Donnie nodded: “She’s adapted very well. Zhan Ning even visited various schools in Atlantic City; she really likes the children there and enjoys playing with them!”
“The Venus School?” Paul Warburg asked subconsciously.
Paul Warburg was very familiar with Atlantic City and knew that Venus School was the best school there, invested in by both Donnie and Nucky. The children who attended were from the wealthiest families in Atlantic City.
The teachers were all hired from major cities like New York and Philadelphia.
Donnie shook his head: “Of course, Zhan Ning visited Venus School too, but she prefers Gaia School!”
Paul Warburg frowned slightly. His recollection of Gaia School was vague, only knowing it was a publicly modeled school invested in by Donnie, where children from the slums of Atlantic City attended.
He didn’t like Zhan Ning Warburg’s choice. A princess of the noble Warburg family should often attend schools that matched her status.
However, Paul Warburg, being very tactful, didn’t voice this. He simply smiled and said: “Zhan Ning has always loved children; coming to Atlantic City has truly allowed her to embrace her nature!”
Donnie nodded: “That’s true, Zhan Ning is a very compassionate person and the children there love her!”
The two then discussed other matters, such as Donnie joining the Federal Reserve.
“Donnie, we’ve done everything we could in this regard. The rest is up to your initiative. I’m not sure when you plan on eting with the Rothschild family?”
Donnie replied: “Let’s wait another two months. I still have two very important matters to attend to. Once these are resolved, I’ll personally travel to Germany and the United Kingdom to negotiate with the Rothschild family!”
Paul Warburg was a bit surprised. In reality, he had been eagerly anticipating Donnie’s departure to Europe to negotiate with the Rothschild family. In this matter, Paul Warburg had already reached a consensus with the Rothschild family to extract greater benefits from Donnie.
One of these benefits was their desire to know where Donnie had invested over one hundred million US dollars in the United States.
And Paul Warburg also believed that Donnie would definitely proceed proactively to Europe to discuss matters with the Rothschild family.
Yet, after a long ti, Donnie had shown no signs of action.
This left Paul Warburg both puzzled and sowhat anxious. An investnt of one hundred million US dollars was too tempting. He was very concerned that a two-month delay might cause him to miss such an investnt opportunity.
“Donnie, I’m curious, what kind of matter could be so urgent that it takes precedence over going to Europe to resolve the Federal Reserve affair?”
At this point, Paul Warburg asked in bewildernt: “Could it be that you want to settle dostic issues first?”
Paul Warburg thought this was the most likely possibility.
Donnie shook his head: “Not at all. In two months, my child will be born. As my lineage in this world, I don’t want to miss this important mont!”
Paul Warburg looked at Donnie in astonishnt, never having anticipated such a reason.
But with such an occasion, he couldn’t well say anything!
“Ah, I had completely forgotten about that. Well, when the ti cos, Donnie, you must call . I will personally co to Atlantic City to congratulate you!”
Donnie nodded: “Of course!”
Finally, Paul Warburg, becoming sowhat impatient, started questioning Donnie about the one hundred million dollar investnt.
After hearing Paul Warburg’s inquiry, Donnie leaned back on the sofa and, with a smile on his face, said: “Paul, as you should know, there is no free lunch in this world!”

Paul Warburg cursed internally. He knew that at this mont, Donnie would definitely seek to gain so benefits from him, but he didn’t expect Donnie to be so blunt!
At the sa ti, he was overjoyed because Donnie’s words ant that the investnt could potentially include outsiders.
“Of course, if your plan, Donnie, is compelling enough, our Warburg family will not be stingy in helping our friends overco difficulties!”
