Chapter 765: 262, the first person from New Jersey_3

Secondly, General Pan Xing has clearly indicated that he will not continue as the Chief of Staff of the Army after his term ends next year, and Donnie should get in touch with the next successor for the role of the United States Army Chief of Staff around this ti.

Last, the situation with the Baku Oil Field is nearing its end, and Donnie should inquire about so details about this matter in Washington!

7 kiloters south of Washington, there is a luxurious manor, initially built by the Spanish ambassador to the United States, but given that the ambassador has recently been replaced, the manor has been put on the market for sale.

Just like Block Manor in Trenton, once Donnie found out about it, he bought it.

While this manor may not be as famous as Mount Vernon in Washington, its luxuriousness is by no ans inferior.

The entire manor was built in a European palace-style, featuring four floors and made of stone, imbued with Renaissance flair.

The house covers an area of more than 16,000 square ters, boasting 250 rooms, 43 bathrooms, 65 fireplaces, 3 kitchens, a bowling alley, and an indoor swimming pool.

Within the manor, there are dense woods, shady lawns, tranquil lakes, as well as beautiful greenhouse and water gardens.

The ballroom is the largest room in the manor, standing 70 feet tall, where guests are entertained and banquets are held.

There is also a 90-foot long tapestry gallery where one can enjoy music and desserts and discuss matters with guests.

At this mont, the United States Treasurer Andrew llon, Vice President Coolidge, United States Army Chief of Staff General Pan Xing, and Donnie were sitting in front of a fireplace in the tapestry gallery.

“Donnie, when did you buy this place?” Andrew llon asked as he sat on a sofa, holding a glass of red wine, a hint of envy in his expression. Actually, Andrew llon also wanted to buy the manor as his Washington residence when it first went on sale.

Unfortunately, Andrew llon found the asking price a bit steep at that ti, so he didn’t make an offer imdiately, and by the ti he decided to act, Donnie had purchased it!

“Andrew, maybe you can now talk about it with Donnie,” Coolidge joked, sitting opposite Andrew llon. “I’m sure that if the price is right, Donnie would surely be willing to sell it to you!”

Andrew llon chuckled and said, “Forget it, I’m not so foolish as to outbid Donnie in cash!”

General Pan Xing, sitting on the other side, was also quite surprised after hearing Andrew llon’s words.

He knew Donnie was wealthy and controlled the private liquor business across Arica, but he hadn’t realized that Donnie had such an alarming amount of cash on hand.

Who is Andrew llon?

The actual controller of the llon Consortium and the Treasurer of the United States—a man like him saying he could not outbid Donnie in cash?

“Andrew, don’t joke about !” Donnie laughed. “You control the nation’s finances; with a single word, you could create several young people like !”

“Look, you all look!” Andrew llon pointed at Donnie and exaggeratedly said, “Do you see why Donnie has built such a great fortune? Who among you can match Donnie when it cos to telling such brazen lies with open eyes?”

Everyone laughed again.

Then Coolidge said, “Donnie, you’re too modest. Take the recent New Jersey incident, for instance— not just anyone could have managed it the way you did. Honestly, I was thinking about calling you to fill you in on the tricky details.

But to my surprise, the way you handled it was utterly brilliant. It won’t cause any worries for people from other states now!”

The trouble between Donnie and Aman Louis had already caused a stir in Washington.

As Donnie’s friend, Coolidge had been genuinely worried for Donnie when he first heard about it.

He feared that a young and impulsive Donnie might actually ruin Arthur Louis, which would make Donnie a dangerous figure in politics!

Such an image isn’t a favorable one in the political arena.

“Thank you for your concern, John. I just wanted my business to run a little more smoothly; I hadn’t considered other things. Since Mr. Louis later agreed to support my business, natural I wouldn’t do anything further!” Donnie humbly said.

The other three nodded. Regardless of Donnie’s actual thoughts, the skill he showed in handling the situation earned their respect.

“Donnie, I really don’t understand. Shipyard businesses aren’t known for quick returns on investnt. I even think you might as well have gone to Wall Street, but you still chose to establish your own Trident Shipyard. What were you thinking?”

Andrew llon did not fully understand Donnie’s thoughts. They had not been close before, and he had not asked. Now that Donnie was beside him, he felt he could ask him to clarify.

“Andrew, Donnie isn’t looking at just simple returns on investnt anymore!” Coolidge answered Andrew llon’s question on behalf of Donnie.

“Once Trident Shipyard is built successfully, effectively the whole of New Jersey’s power will have peacefully transitioned into Donnie’s hands. Although Donnie is already financially powerful, if he enters Wall Street at this ti, not to ntion others, would you, llon, be able to watch such a behemoth erge in your territory?”

Andrew llon went silent, understanding Coolidge’s point.

Donnie then turned to General Pan Xing and asked, “General Pan Xing, may I inquire about General Robert Coontz’s situation?”
