Chapter 708: 243, Rivals of the Baku Oil Field_2

“We are n of yer Lansky, ordered to bring this person back to New York!”

Tolga explained to Robbie Frank, “Mr. yer will personally call Mr. Block to explain this matter!”

Robbie Frank raised his voice, “I don’t care who you are, but right now you’re firing guns in Block Tavern, that’s you breaking our rules. Leave imdiately, or don’t bla us for not being polite!”

As Tolga tried to explain further, he saw that many people in the tavern had pulled out pistols and rifles aiming at him.

“We are n of yer Lansky…”

Smack!

...

Robbie Frank, losing his patience, stepped forward and slapped the man across the face, cursing, “Fuck you, wasn’t I clear enough just now? This is Atlantic City, not New York. Unless I hear it from our boss, even if God himself shows up, he’d better just sit here and drink quietly, or we’ll send him straight to hell!”

Tolga was shocked by Robbie Frank’s arrogance, but with the situation being unfavorable, he looked at the weaponry around the room and could only concede humbly.

“I’ll rember this slap!”

After dropping such a harsh line, Tolga left the place with his n.

Robbie Frank, unconcerned, spat on the ground and went back to his work, not having interacted with Lu Honggui or Feng Zhangping at all throughout the encounter.

.

“Our people fought with yer’s n?”

Donnie, after hanging up the phone, curiously asked Robert sitting across from him.

Donnie had just received a call from yer, in which yer apologized to Donnie, explaining that his n had misbehaved and fired shots in Block Tavern, seeking Donnie’s forgiveness.

Donnie didn’t forgive yer on the call, just said he would look into the matter first and then get back to him.

Robert nodded his head, recounting last night’s events at Block Tavern to Donnie, “I didn’t think it was a big deal, so I didn’t tell you!”

Donnie nodded slightly, he indeed hadn’t taken the matter to heart. Although Lu Honggui’s identity as an Easterner gave Donnie a sense of kinship, this feeling did not an Donnie would go out of his way to protect the man.

“If yer’s n broke the rules, they must pay the price. It can’t be settled with just an apology!”

Donnie might not have planned to stick his neck out for Lu Honggui, but Atlantic City’s rules couldn’t be broken, not even by yer’s n, even though yer was now the biggest gang boss in New York City.

Robert nodded, “I understand, I’ll have Tyron and Joachim take care of it!”

Hearing Robert say this, Donnie didn’t dwell on the matter any longer and said, “I’ve already spoken with Coolidge on the phone. He seems rather supportive of our ideas, but given his current status, it’s still uncertain how much he can accomplish, so we should also prepare so extra cash here!”

Previously, both Albert Furr and Archie Roosevelt had told Donnie that it would be impossible for Pandora Oil Company to obtain the drilling rights to the Baku Oil Field.

The most critical issue was, Donnie lacked a powerful figure to represent Pandora Oil Company and connect with the power players in the Soviet Union.

After so thought, Donnie decided that Coolidge might be the one to attempt this.

Coolidge was the Vice President of the United States, and that status was certainly high enough. Whether Coolidge had real power in the United States didn’t matter; to the Soviet side, Coolidge’s position as the Vice President of the United States already represented a great deal.

Until now, Donnie had been investing in Coolidge without ever having asked him to do anything for himself.

Now when Donnie was seeking Coolidge’s help, he was actually looking to test Coolidge’s view of their relationship.

If Coolidge could readily lend a hand, then it would an that the relation between Donnie and Coolidge had beco one where they could support each other as allies.

Now that Coolidge had learned of Donnie’s request, he imdiately used his contacts to get in touch with the high-level officials in the Soviet Union. From this, it was apparent that Coolidge truly regarded Donnie as a firm partner in cooperation!

Robert said, “Getting the cash ready isn’t a problem, but now that this matter has officially started, isn’t it sowhat improper to have only Magichi over there?”

Donnie asked, “You an to send more people over?”

Robert nodded, “Exactly, and even with Coolidge’s help, we don’t have a certain victory, especially since the Sinclair Oil Corporation has the Roosevelt Family planning for them—they might have even deeper connections than Coolidge!”

Donnie smiled and said, “Let’s not rush this, let Magichi handle it for now. Don’t forget, our rivals in this deal aren’t just Sinclair Oil Corporation, there’s also the behemoth Shell to contend with!”

Robert analyzed, “The Soviet Union is not Iran. I think British influence won’t be an impedint to the Soviet’s decision on who gets to exploit the Baku Oil Field, right?”

Donnie nodded and replied, “That may be true, but given that the Baku Oil Field is currently one of the oil fields with the largest reserves in the world, the United Kingdom will certainly value it highly. If they can’t exert any influence over the Soviet Union, they will definitely try to interfere with their competitors.”

Donnie continued, “Now with Sinclair Oil Corporation taking the lead, our pressure is a bit smaller.”

During this period, Donnie had been analyzing the competition over the Baku Oil Field. Up to this point, according to Donnie’s intelligence system, a total of four oil companies were interested in the Baku Oil Field and had already begun to act.

These four oil companies were Shell, a Dutch brand but controlled by the United Kingdom, Arica’s Sinclair Oil Corporation, his own Pandora Oil Company, and the last one, which Donnie was still unsure whether they would participate, was the Rockefeller Family.

Among these companies, Shell had the most apparent strength, but this did not an they were necessarily at an advantage in this conflict!

If he were in charge of Shell, he would also investigate the competition in this battle.

So, who is most likely to be his rival?

Naturally, it would be Sinclair Oil Corporation, with the support of the Roosevelt Family!

As for Pandora Oil… a company without its own large oil fields in the United States, what competitive strength could it have?

Therefore, Donnie decided that this ti, he would not erge as the leader; instead, he’d watch the competition between these two companies from behind—and if possible, he could entirely profit from their confrontation in the end!

“You’re saying Shell will take action against Sinclair Oil Corporation?”

asked Robert.

Donnie nodded, “Definitely. In the matter of the oil fields in Iran, Shell has already leveraged British power to suppress Arican oil companies once. I think Shell, with their successful experience, will certainly continue to use this thod. It’s just that this ti they lack the support of the Soviets, and what I haven’t figured out yet is how they will target Sinclair Oil Corporation!”

The matter of the Iranian oil fields didn’t just involve the British; the Soviets also intervened, both not wanting the United States to gain more interest in the Middle East.

After thinking for a while, Robert said, “I understand your aning. Do we need to send soone to the United Kingdom to investigate Shell’s movents?”

Donnie laughed, “Do we have such connections?”

Robert listened and gave an embarrassed laugh.

Donnie added, “Alright, for now, we just need to keep advancing according to our plan. As for the rest, it’ll depend on the strategies of all parties involved!”
