Rights and Wealth_4 Chapter 495: 186.

Rights and Wealth_4 “Mr.

Coolidge, how do you feel about our Surf Hotel?”

Donnie exchanged greetings and shook hands with the current Vice President John Coolidge.

John Coolidge laughed, “It’s very impressive.

I’ve stayed in quite a few hotels, but the service at Surf Hotel is definitely top-notch.

Even if there were no other attractions, I would be very eager to co to Atlantic City for vacations whenever I have the ti!”

Donnie laughed, “If that’s the case, then that’s truly wonderful.

...

You should know, I’m planning to establish a horse racing club in Atlantic City.

I’m aware of how much you enjoy the sport, Mr.

Coolidge.

If possible, I hope you could regularly visit and guide our horse racing club!”

John Coolidge’s hobbies were few, but aside from his passion for antique collecting, his favorite was horse racing.

Even after he beca President, he postponed a eting with Cabinet Ministers to attend a horse racing event, which, of course, was reported by the Arican dia and criticized for a while.

But John Coolidge didn’t take such reports to heart and continued to regularly participate in various horse racing events.

Upon hearing that Donnie was going to establish a horse racing club in Atlantic City, John Coolidge imdiately showed a delighted expression, “My goodness, Donnie, are you trying to get to live in Atlantic City permanently?”

Donnie also changed his way of addressing Coolidge, laughing, “John, if you could live in Atlantic City, I believe every person here would warmly welco you!”

Coolidge chatted casually with Donnie, while Harry D’Agostino, standing by, watched them engaging warmly in conversation, revealing a puzzled expression.

After all, Coolidge currently had no intention of running for President and, in everyone’s eyes, had reached the pinnacle of his political career.

He was in a famously nominal position as Vice President.

Frankly speaking, Coolidge’s current influence was even less than that of Harry D’Agostino.

After Coolidge left, Harry D’Agostino laughed, “It’s been a long ti since I’ve seen Coolidge chat so enthusiastically!”

Because he understood his own position, Coolidge had beco much quieter after becoming Vice President.

Donnie laughed, “Having just the Surf Hotel won’t be enough to draw in ordinary tourists to Atlantic City; if we have a horse racing sport, I believe it could bring many more visitors!”

What Donnie was proposing, establishing a horse racing club, was not just any place for breeding and riding horses.

He wanted to emulate Hong Kong’s horse racing and establish a similar jockey club.

In the United States, a nation of immigrants with Europeans as a major demographic, horse racing is very popular, and there are quite a few horse racing events.

Atlantic City had so of its own but had never been large-scale.

Just like Atlantic City’s casinos before.

Donnie wanted to create a large-scale horse racing event, and when that happened, Atlantic City would combine the advantages of both Hong Kong and Macau, eventually transforming into a true Casino City.

The Surf Hotel and the jockey club would be the foundation of Atlantic City, and then by developing the local tourism industry, Donnie wouldn’t have to worry about Las Vegas becoming the capital and stealing Atlantic City’s tourists in the future.

After hearing this, Harry D’Agostino’s puzzlent cleared up, and he smiled, “If that’s the case, John indeed makes a very suitable candidate!”

Although, in everyone’s opinion, Coolidge was a Vice President without real power, in the public eye, he was still the second-ranking individual in the Arican power hierarchy.

If he could endorse Atlantic City’s horse racing, it would undoubtedly attract many tourists.

While the two were chatting, General Pan Xing and Marshall ca to the scene, both uncommonly out of military uniform and dressed in suits instead.

General Pan Xing had officially taken the position of Chief of Staff of the U.S.

Army, placing him as one of the two great heads of the U.S.

Military Departnt.

A true person of power indeed.

His arrival imdiately beca the focal point of the venue, with many people actively initiating conversations with him.

Donnie also walked over with a glass of wine in hand.

“General Pan Xing, I am very grateful that you could personally grace our Surf Hotel!”

General Pan Xing said with a light laugh, “Donnie, you’ve given so much help to our retired soldiers, and today I’m here on their behalf to thank you!”

Donnie smiled and said, “It’s all part of my duty, after all, I’m one of them.

Once the business of the Surf Hotel is on track, I hope that WRPA can allocate a portion of its funds to support more veterans!”

General Pan Xing imdiately showed an interested expression and said, “If that’s the case, then it would be really great.

If Arican businessn could all be like you, Donnie, our job would be much easier!”

Donnie once again humbly stated that it was his duty.

And indeed, Donnie’s contributions were rewarded.

Not long after the evening event ended, he received a call from Marshall.

General Pan Xing had formally listed Pandora Oil Company as one of the U.S.

Army’s partnership companies.

Donnie was paying attention to the guests in the room, and so in the room were also watching him.

The hottest two gazes belonged to Robert Taft and young Theodore Roosevelt.

Although they didn’t speak to Donnie during the entire soirée, they were still constantly aware of his situation.

When they saw Donnie effortlessly navigating between the various notables, engaging with them in lively conversation, they felt quite stirred inside.

If it weren’t for the presence of another woman, Donnie would have already been their ideal brother-in-law in their minds!

However, thinking about Donnie’s current situation gave them a headache again.

As for their headache, Donnie didn’t bother himself with it.

After the evening’s festivities, Donnie then focused his energy on the Surf Hotel’s opening the next day.

The next day, in the morning, the Surf Hotel officially started its operation amidst a joyous atmosphere, with countless tourists flocking in.

Donnie was in the exclusive banquet hall, hosting guests from various factions.

However, this ti it was only divided into two parts: in the main banquet hall, he hosted everyone he had invited over the past three days, while in another hall, John and Eli represented those who entertained the big bosses of the gangs.

After lunch, these people went into the Diamond Hall and Golden Hall for their own experiences.

And at this ti, Donnie also returned to his office, stealing a brief mont of leisure.

“You take care of things here; I’m leaving Atlantic City tomorrow!”

Donnie instructed Nate.

With the matters of Atlantic City wrapped up, Donnie had to focus all his thoughts on the ABC roadshow and the upcoming listing!
