Walker said, "Isn't this just a way to showcase my own abilities? Besides, even before this, there were already quite a few people involved. And this ti, being with Maholi was actually in hopes of getting her help to take back the Astor Family's assets. If I use her money now, wouldn't that just confirm their suspicions?"
Donnie took a bite of his fried egg and then said, "But isn't that what we were thinking all along?"
Originally, Donnie had suggested that Walker pursue Maholi precisely to gain her support, especially in terms of capital and influence.
Scratching his head, Walker said, "That was indeed the case, but it's different now. I truly want to be with Maholi and move forward together!"
With a look of disdain, Donnie glanced at Walker and said, "Just like your father!"
With a sly smirk, Walker said, "Let's not talk about him. Let's talk about and Maholi. I'm sure you have a way to deal with this, seeing as how you've easily manipulated both Helen and Alice!"
"Haha, you saying that really brightens my mood!" Donnie laughed proudly. "I can responsibly tell you that I've got them completely under my control. If I say east, they wouldn't dare go west; if I tell them to sit, they wouldn't dare stand!"
Walker looked envious; after all, these were two princesses from the Taft and Roosevelt Families.
"So, you're saying you've got them wrapped around your finger?"
"Cough cough!" Donnie coughed tactically and then said, "Let's get back to you and Maholi, shall we?"
"Sure!"
"The real issue between you two now is that Maholi thinks you haven't treated her as one of your own in dealing with this matter. And you, you want to prove that those idlers' gossip is false and don't want Maholi to be overly involved in it. That's why there's now a distance in your relationship."
"Exactly!" Walker exclaid excitedly, slapping his thigh. "That's exactly what I an!"
Donnie said, "The problem now is, since you already regard Maholi as your true life partner, I am on Maholi's side in this matter. You're going to spend your life with Maholi, and yet you're choosing to hide this from her because of so pointless words from so pointless people. Put yourself in her shoes; how would you feel?"
Walker said, "Of course, I'd think that I'm just trying to prove my own capabilities!"
Donnie waved his hand and said, "That's your idea, not Maholi's. If I were Maholi, I'd definitely think you were trying to guard against , worrying that I might covet the Astor family's fortune!"
"How could that be!" Walker said loudly.
"Why don't you ask Maholi if that's what she thinks?" Donnie drank the milk in front of him!
Walker looked sowhat dejected.
Donnie continued, "Actually, the matter between you two is quite simple. You can completely share your true thoughts with Maholi. Moreover, you can push forward and tell Maholi that the reason I'm providing you with a $5 million loan is actually because, through this transaction, when you get the Astor family's assets, I want to get that piece of land on Manhattan's Fifth Avenue!"
Walker looked at Donnie worriedly and asked, "Won't that make appear sowhat disloyal?"
Donnie held his head and said helplessly, "What's the big deal? Besides, it's the truth. And between good brothers, isn't it all about taking the heat for each other?"
Walker looked at Donnie with imnse gratitude and said, "Donnie, I really can't thank you enough for this. Rest assured, when I get the Astor family's assets in the future, I will not forget about you!"
Donnie waved his hand, clearly impatient, and said, "Alright, hurry up and find your wife!"
Walker scurried away, and after Donnie finished breakfast, he arrived at ABC's headquarters located in the Upper Manhattan region of New York.
As the nation's largest comrcial radio station, it was only natural that ABC's headquarters would not be shabby, taking up the entire 15th, 16th, and 17th floors of the building. At this ti, ABC also had more than 300 employees, not including the hosts, and, to maintain transmission bases in various cities, there were offices in those cities with such facilities as well.
Furthermore, ABC had completed its split from the "Atlantic City Post." In the early days, when ABC was still Atlantic City Broadcast, it used reporters from the "Atlantic City Post."
But now, ABC already had 200 reporters stationed across the United States, and from ti to ti, also sent reporters to Europe for interviews!
"Boss, these are the cities where the company will be roadshowing next. Please take a look!"
Mashang Evans handed a stack of docunts to Donnie. These cities were, in fact, among the largest comrcial cities in the United States at the forefront, highly coinciding with the top ten competition cities of the first Miss Arica pageant.
"Rember to free up so ti for in November. I need to go back to Atlantic City to prepare for the Surf Hotel's opening ceremony!"
In the last quarter of 1921, Donnie would be extrely busy. In October, he was preparing for the final roadshow before ABC's IPO. Unlike later tis where it could basically be done in a day or two, at that ti, due to less developed dia, if Donnie wanted to ensure a successful start for ABC post-IPO, he had to complete more city roadshows.
Additionally, due to the inconvenience of transportation back then, the entire pre-IPO roadshow of ABC would continue into November. Just at that juncture, the Surf Hotel was slated to open, and Donnie would definitely need to be in Atlantic City during this period.
Therefore, Donnie ultimately decided to schedule ABC's actual IPO date for December 1st!
"I have already arranged it for you!"
Mashang Evans replied.
Donnie nodded slightly, appreciating Mashang Evans's approach.
"Additionally, 'The Wall Street Journal,' 'The New York Tis,' 'The Los Angeles Tis,' and other major newspapers have sent you invitations, hoping to conduct an exclusive interview with you for this ABC IPO!"
Mashang Evans continued to report the current situation to Donnie.
After listening, Donnie had no objections to such arrangents and spoke, "Alright, you just arrange the ti!"
At this point, Mashang Evans said with a sowhat playful expression, "Additionally, the 'Atlantic City Post' hopes to give you an exclusive interview as well!"
Upon hearing this, Donnie laughed heartily and said, "That's for certain. Place the 'Atlantic City Post's' exclusive interview at the very top!"
"Understood!" Mashang Evans continued, "There are already quite a few investnt companies from Wall Street contacting us now, hoping to secure a subscription right. Here is the list of these companies' applications!"
Your journey continues on My Virtual Library Empire
After Donnie took the list and glanced at it, it was obvious that it had been carefully selected.
Those on this list were basically so of the more renowned firms on Wall Street.
