Robert Stuart nodded and said, "That's feasible. We can start to dispatch our company's n to get in touch with the local law enforcent imdiately."
Jas O'Neal added, "We could also reach out to the Bureau of Investigation. Even though this matter is under the jurisdiction of the state governnt, the Bureau has a bit more clout than them. Plus, since Donnie is not from either of these states, it turns into an interstate situation!"

anwhile, in Pacific City, Donnie received a call from Albert Furr.
"Donnie, you've gone too far this ti!"
Albert Furr stated directly over the phone.
Donnie replied with a laugh, "Albert, I'm not sure what you're referring to?"
Albert Furr knew Donnie would never directly admit to it, so he didn't dwell on the issue but continued, "Donnie, I've already received their call. They're willing to consider this an accident, as long as you're willing to go to New York and apologize to them. Then this whole affair can be put behind us. After all, we're all in this together for the money—why harm others and ourselves in the process?"
"Go to New York to apologize to them?"
Donnie heard the biggest joke of the early morning. "And what if I don't do as they say?"
Albert Furr responded, "You know, Donnie, they might not match you in the thods used in the recent events, but in other aspects, there is still so distance between you and them. Bowing your head now, admitting your mistake, and then working hard for a few years—I believe you'll surpass them by then!"
"Albert!" Donnie interjected, "As a friend, I hope you can give a serious answer. If I concede this ti, do you really think they'll just be after my oil fortune?"
On the other side of the phone, Albert Furr fell silent. Not because of the friendship Donnie ntioned, but because he knew that when Donnie asked this question, he already had his answer.
"Human greed knows no bounds!"
Eventually, Albert Furr gave Donnie the answer he was looking for.
"So, I won't back down this ti. To , the oil business isn't my entire world. I can keep them at bay here, but for them, it's not that simple. After all, they have to answer not only for themselves but also for their board mbers, right?"
Dressed in pajamas, Albert Furr sat in his study, now certain of sothing he had previously overlooked: they had all underestimated Donnie.

The situation with the other four oil companies was different. Figures like Harry Sinclair, though chairn of their companies, still had boards of directors to answer to. If they couldn't bring more benefits to their board, their positions could easily be replaced by soone who could!
Securing the three major oil fields was not a significant financial drain for them, but the cost of equipnt and staffing in the oil fields was substantial, and their boards would definitely demand that they start generating profits soon!
"Donnie, we are friends, and I understand now. I will pretend I have seen nothing regarding this matter, hoping only that you guys don't take things too far in the end!"
Albert Furr decided to be an observer, no longer participating in the further developnt of this matter!
Donnie replied with a chuckle, "Thanks, my friend!"

As Andrew llon sat in his office, he hung up the phone and sighed.
He knew that the possibility of Gulf Oil increasing its stake in Pandora Oil Company was now out of reach.
