After that, Hubert Lewis instructed his underlings, "Listen, even if Donnie got his hands on the munitions, he wouldn't possibly put all his n on one transport route. I got information that he ordered 30 trucks from the Ford Motor Company."

"They're definitely going to split up into different convoys and deliver the bootleg liquor to various cities. When that ti cos, you guys should be at...."

Experience tales with empire

As he spoke, Hubert Lewis walked over to the map hanging on the wall of his office and pointed at a road, "Donnie has been using this route for his shipnts to New York. Take our n, rember to bring more people, and more weapons, to ambush them here and snatch Donnie's goods for !"

After hearing Hubert Lewis's plan, the underlings showed signs of worry.

Donnie was no small-ti player now, he was a na known throughout the entire Eastern United States.

Their boss was now plotting to rob Donnie's goods, and if Donnie found out, it would be an outright declaration of war between Atlantic City and Newark!

Despite the worry in their hearts, these two underlings still didn't dare to voice any objections to Hubert Lewis, for they knew their boss all too well.

When he made decisions in anger, one should never, ever, ever disagree with their boss, or they could end up like Randall Heyman, lying on the ground as a warning for others!

"Understood!"

The two underlings said, steeling themselves.

"You don't need to worry!" Hubert Lewis seed to guess their concerns and said with a laugh, "Although Donnie is powerful, we're not pushovers either. And look at this route; it's not even within our Newark territory.

As long as you guys can take out all of Donnie's n, no one will know it was us who did it!"

"Yes!"

The two underlings nodded again.

"Alright, go get ready!" Hubert Lewis dismissed them impatiently, "Oh, and throw this trash out for !"

"Yes!"

.

The 30 trucks Donnie ordered from the Ford Motor Company finally arrived in Atlantic City.

However, exactly as Donnie had planned, as soon as the 30 trucks arrived in Atlantic City that day, they were led by Kritch straight to Elwood Village.

That evening, the convoy returned to Atlantic City and drove into the warehouse at the docks.

"Boss, everything's been taken care of. Now we just wait for the munitions from Colt Company and Springfield Company!"

At the entrance to the dock warehouse, Kritch said to Donnie with a smile.

Donnie also smiled and said, "Good, although this is Atlantic City, you all still need to be cautious, and make sure security is tight!"

Kritch nodded and said, "Don't worry, I'll personally stay on guard here!"

"I'll leave this place in your hands then, I'm off to attend llon's costu party!"

Donnie patted Kritch on the shoulder and left.

However, Donnie didn't imdiately head to the Ritz Hotel to attend the llon Bank's Atlantic City branch's party, but went to West District first.

He knocked on Helen Taft's door!

The door opened to reveal Helen in a pink evening gown, opening her door for Donnie. A pink evening gown is actually quite rare, mainly because few people can pull off such a color.

But when Helen wore the gown, there was not a hint of discord, and it wasn't just unobjectionable, it was dazzlingly eye-catching!

"How do I look?"

Helen stood in front of Donnie, elegantly showcasing her outfit.

"Tonight, you will be the center of attention at the entire dance party!"

Donnie exclaid with genuine admiration.

Helen laughed heartily and asked, "Won't that be a bit too conspicuous?"

Donnie replied, "Not at all conspicous, it's innate, there's no helping it!"

"Haha!" Helen laughed again, "Donnie, I'll accept your complint!"

Then the two left the apartnt, got into a car, and headed for the Ritz Hotel.

"Helen, I'm very grateful for your company tonight!" Donnie thanked Helen in the car.

When Steve Cotting ntioned this matter to Donnie before, Donnie thought of inviting Helen as his dance partner.

When Donnie told Helen about it, she also readily accepted his invitation.

"The people attending this dance are all the elite of Atlantic City, I suppose they won't hesitate to donate to our WRPA, right?"

Helen asked confidently.

Donnie laughed heartily, "I don't think they would refuse!"

Helen said, "That's good enough!"

The car quickly arrived at the Ritz Hotel, and Helen, arm in arm with Donnie, walked into the venue, which by then had already gathered quite a few guests.

However, when Donnie and Helen entered the venue together, they still attracted everyone's attention.

There was no helping it, as the pair in their twenties—Donnie and Helen, so handso and beautiful—stood out conspicuously among a sea of middle-aged individuals.

Although it was the opening ball for llon Bank's Atlantic City branch, Andrew llon did not attend; instead, the manager of the Atlantic City branch of llon Bank, Lanny Cunningham, hosted the event.

Upon seeing Donnie, Cunningham imdiately excused himself from the guests beside him and ca over to Donnie with a smile plastered on his face.

"Donnie, I'm thrilled to welco you!"

Donnie shook his hand, saying, "Receiving Mr. Cunningham's invitation is an honor for !"

Following that, Donnie introduced his dance partner Helen to Cunningham.

But Cunningham seed montarily stunned upon hearing Helen's last na, though this mont of hesitation was brief, and he soon shook hands with Helen, welcoming her with a smile!

After exchanging pleasantries with Donnie for a while, Cunningham went back to attending to other guests.

Donnie stood among the crowd, with people constantly coming up to greet him and make small talk.

Helen followed by Donnie's side, not speaking, nor seeking donations for WRPA as she had said upon arrival, simply watching Donnie interact with the people around him.

Soon, Helen noticed that so people were seeking Donnie's help, while others simply wanted to be seen in his presence!

"It seems your influence in Atlantic City is greater than I'd imagined!"

After hearing this, Donnie just smiled lightly and said, "If ever there's soone else who can bring these people benefits, they would treat them just the sa!"

Helen nodded, "Few can see things as clearly as you do!"

As Donnie was about to say more, a waiter approached him, whispered a few words, and Donnie's expression turned somber as he said to Helen, "I need to step out for a mont, I'll be right back!"
