Chapter 1701: Chapter 637: Donnie Begins to Flex His Muscles in Front of Roosevelt

Arranging a position for Eisenhower in the U.S. Army is, at present for Donnie,

not a matter of great concern.

Donnie Bruck’s most steadfast ally in the U.S. Army, George Marshall, has now beco the Director of Operations at the United States Departnt of the Army, simultaneously serving as Deputy Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army!

He has truly beco part of the upper echelon of the U.S. Army.

Eisenhower showed a delighted expression, and his visit to the White House made him realize that the Philippines was currently not within the focus of the U.S. high-level leadership.

If he wanted to make a mark in the U.S. Army, he must return to the United States.

“If that is the case, I personally will be very grateful to Mr. Block.”

Donnie nodded and said to Mackenzie Pope, “Call Mitchell and tell him I invite him to visit New York!”

At this mont, Donnie naturally ant George Marshall, which Eisenhower didn’t doubt.

Following that, his heart couldn’t help but feel joy.

After MacArthur’s retreat in Washington, George Marshall has beco the strongest figure of this generation in the U.S. Army.

No one doubts George Marshall will beco the next United States Army Chief of Staff!

This would make him the highest-ranking official in the U.S. Army!

“Sir, will it be too troubleso?”

Eisenhower asked concernedly.

Donnie smiled and said, “There’s nothing troubleso about it, besides, it’s been a long ti since I’ve seen George!”

Mackenzie Pope then dialed George Marshall’s telephone.

After a few brief words, he hung up the phone.

“Sir, I’ve got in touch with General Marshall, and he will arrive in New York on the fastest train!”

Mackenzie Pope reported to Donnie.

Donnie nodded and said, “Calculate the ti, and when George arrives in New York, you can invite Leman, La Guardia, Morgan, Rockefeller, and others, and we’ll hold a grand dance party!”

Eisenhower paused for a mont, naturally aware who these people Donnie ntioned were.

If inviting George Marshall to New York was sothing he could accept, given that George Marshall was closely linked to his political future after returning to the U.S.

But now, with these people, the situation was different.

Leman… Herbert Lehman, who was re-elected as the Governor of New York State this year, and most importantly, is a steadfast Democrat.

La Guardia… Fiorello La Guardia, the Mayor of New York City, who previously served as a mber of the U.S. Congress House of Representatives.

Usually having a tough stance, but loved by the citizens of New York City.

Additionally, he is a staunch Republican.

Though Eisenhower had been in the Philippines for so ti, he understood so aspects of the situation in the U.S.

Such as, the relationship between Herbert Lehman and Fiorello La Guardia wasn’t great, mainly due to their differing political views on New York’s developnt.

For instance, Herbert Lehman is a firm supporter of Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal, while Fiorello La Guardia is notably against Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal.

Donnie plans to gather them together?

And now, adding Jack Morgan, Junior Rockefeller, these true power players of New York.

Is this a dance party that I can attend?

I need to consider whether I can even participate in such a dance party, so naturally, Donnie is not hosting it solely for !

Eisenhower understands well that he does not yet have that influence.

“Walker, John, I have so matters these days, please accompany Eisenhower!”

Donnie said to Walker Astor and John Whitney.

The two nodded, having first bonded with Eisenhower during their ti together at West Point Military Academy, later knowing through Donnie that he also had high hopes for Eisenhower’s potential.

John Whitney, after being introduced to Eisenhower by Donnie, seriously studied Eisenhower’s developnt trajectory.

During this research, John Whitney deed Eisenhower to be very capable and was willing to invest in such a promising military figure.

After they left, Donnie stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, watching as the parade outside hadn’t ended, just observing with a blank expression.

For a mont, he was dazed, not expecting to see so many people from the East here.

Then the phone behind Donnie rang.

Mackenzie Pope answered the call and upon confirming who it was, said to Donnie.

“Sir, it’s Minister Lillard on the line!”

Donnie turned back and took the phone from Mackenzie Pope’s hand.

“Judging from Mr. President’s reaction, he obviously still wants to continue pushing his profit law!”

Robert Lillard said to Donnie over the phone.

Donnie chuckled lightly, “I know, after all these days, Mr. President is still expecting to call him!”

At this mont, Donnie and Franklin Roosevelt were in a ga.

Whoever calls whom first signifies falling to a disadvantage in this ga.

Robert Lillard laughed, “After all, he’s the President, a person adored by the public, so of course, he has so pride!”

Donnie also chuckled, “How are things there in New York? How does he instruct you?”

Robert Lillard laughed, “It’s still the usual, but Franklin Roosevelt seems to be emphasizing the matter with Joseph Alsop, which you need to pay attention to!”
