Franklin Roosevelt spoke of the foremost necessity of getting people to work, the need to "balance inco with expenditure," and the need for "adequate and stable currency" (applause), promising to implent a "Good Neighbor" policy in foreign affairs, yet stating that dostic issues must take precedence.

However, the most surprising was his continuous emphasis on the need for action.

The word "action" repeatedly appeared.

After Franklin Roosevelt said he believed it was possible to take necessary actions within the frawork of the Constitution, the most enthusiastic applause was given to his following declaration:

If circumstances permitted, he would ask without hesitation for "broad executive power to wage a war against the ergency, power as great as that which would be given to if we were invaded by a foreign foe."

This declaration was a huge success.

Because the Arican public was tired of watching a President devote his greatest energy to reverse actions: they wanted proactive policies.

"We do not fundantally doubt the future of democratic institutions," Franklin Roosevelt continued, "The Arican people have not failed.

In tis of peril, they have expressed a demand: they need direct, vigorous action.

They demand leadership with discipline and direction.

Now, they have chosen as the instrunt to fulfill their wishes.

I accept this generous gift."

Donnie was still earnestly listening to Franklin Roosevelt’s speech.

Before this, Donnie had not exercised his privilege to preview Franklin Roosevelt’s speech.

Donnie was eager to see how the audience reacted during Franklin Roosevelt’s speech.

Now Donnie could be very certain that Franklin Roosevelt’s speech was very successful.

The Arican public at this mont did not need cautious, ambiguous answers.

They hoped for change, were tired of waiting, and wanted soone willing to fight this Great Depression for them and with them.

The Arican public at this mont longed for leadership, craved the thrill that bold decisions bring.

Now Franklin Roosevelt, in his speech, gave them all of this.

Moreover, Franklin Roosevelt was very skilled in speech-making, especially in his use of emphasis.

This could enhance the public’s sense of identity.

Franklin Roosevelt’s speech ended.

Then it was ti to officially move into the White House, and as for the forr occupant of the White House, Herbert Hoover, he was no longer the center of attention.

All eyes were on Franklin Roosevelt.

Herbert Hoover, with his family, walked out of the White House, ready to get into the car and leave.

"Mr. Hoover!"

At this mont, a voice called out to Herbert Hoover from a distance.

Herbert Hoover turned back and saw Donnie approaching.

"Mr. Block, our era has ended!"

Herbert Hoover shook Donnie’s hand and said with endless sighs.

Donnie denied: "Mr. Hoover, our era has not ended; it continues. You have now completed your historical mission, it’s ti for you to rest well for a while.

I’ve prepared a place for you in Atlantic City, and you can relax well when the ti cos!"

Herbert Hoover felt so sentint; how glorious he had been four years ago, and how lonely now.

But fortunately, Donnie had not given up on him.

"Mr. Block, about so matters before..."

Donnie gestured: "Mr. Hoover, past matters are already over; those were just normal squabbles between two friends, but they will not affect our friendship!"

Herbert Hoover nodded earnestly and said, "Indeed, in that case, I will go to Atlantic City first, see you in Atlantic City!"

Donnie nodded and said, "See you in Atlantic City!"

Watching Herbert Hoover leave, Donnie also felt a bit sentintal.

This was already the third President he had sent off.

Donnie turned to look at the White House.

"Indeed, the White House is as solid as iron, while Presidents co and go like water!"

Donnie returned to the White House banquet hall, where the first ball of Franklin Roosevelt’s inauguration had yet to officially start.

But at this ti, many people were already gathered here.

Franklin Roosevelt was undoubtedly the focal point.

Regarding Franklin Roosevelt’s speech at the inauguration ceremony.

The bankers and entrepreneurs present didn’t yet realize the severity of the situation.

To them, Franklin Roosevelt’s speech was no different from those of previous Presidents.

Anyway, they just spoke about impossible targets to excite the ordinary citizens a bit.

Isn’t this what every President of the United States would say before taking office?

If there had to be any difference, they had to admit, Franklin Roosevelt’s words were more alluring.

When Donnie walked in, all eyes imdiately turned to him.

At this ti, there were two focal points in the room.

Donnie Block and Franklin Roosevelt.

Finally, everyone saw these two focal points converge.

"Mr. President, in the days to co, it will be up to your leadership to lead the Arican people out of the current quagmire!"

In embracing Franklin Roosevelt, Donnie volunteered.

Franklin Roosevelt said resolutely: "This is a daunting task, but since the great Arican people have chosen , I will do my utmost to ensure they are not disappointed!"

At this mont, Donnie Block and Franklin Roosevelt both appeared to care deeply for the Arican public.

Their patriotic deanor also brought applause from the scene.

After the applause, soone approached Donnie with an embarrassed and pleading look.

"Mr. Block, I am Riel Carles, the president of Detroit Citizens Bank. It is a great pleasure to et you here, Mr. Block!"

Donnie knew Riel Carles, forrly one of the banking giants in Michigan.

Detroit Citizens Bank was also one of the largest local banks in Michigan.

However, obviously, in the current environnt, Detroit Citizens Bank’s situation was not very good.

If it weren’t for Michigan declaring a bank holiday, it was estimated that Detroit Citizens Bank would have been completely bankrupted by all the depositors coming to withdraw their money.

"Hello, Mr. Carles, I am also very pleased to et you here!"

Donnie shook hands with Riel Carles and said.

Riel Carles respectfully said: "Mr. Block, Detroit Citizens Bank has been in operation for over fifty years.

I earnestly ask Mr. Block for your help to save Detroit Citizens Bank!"

Today, Riel Carles did not really co to the White House to offer blessings to Franklin Roosevelt.

What Riel Carles truly wanted was to et Donnie Block here and get assistance from Breton Bank.

If Detroit Citizens Bank doesn’t get external help soon...it’s known that the bank holiday can’t last indefinitely.

One day, it will have to open for business again.

Riel Carles indeed found Franklin Roosevelt’s speech to be quite empathetic.

But he didn’t have the courage to gamble on whether the people of Michigan would believe Franklin Roosevelt’s words.

That when the banks opened, depositors wouldn’t co to withdraw their money.

So, Riel Carles hoped to get help from Donnie Block.

At this mont, only Donnie Block’s assistance could really help Detroit Citizens Bank out of its predicant.

Earlier, he had also called Venus Bank’s secretary’s office and submitted a request to et with Donnie Block.

But the response he received was always that Donnie Block had no ti.

In desperation, Riel Carles ca to the White House.

Begging Donnie Block for help!

Donnie showed a puzzled expression and said: "As far as I know, Detroit Citizens Bank is a bank with a very good credit standing. Can’t even you earn the trust of the people of Michigan?"

Riel Carles shook his head and said helplessly: "At this mont, the Arican public trusts Breton Bank the most!"

Donnie nodded and said: "Mr. Carles, you don’t need to worry. Later, I’ll make a call to Breton Bank, asking them to send soone to Detroit to look into this matter!"

Riel Carles widened his eyes, looking at Donnie with disbelief and imnse joy!
