Chapter 1429: Chapter 501: Black Card

Atlantic City.

Donnie stood at the floor-to-ceiling window of his office, overlooking the city that belonged to him.

“Recently, a lot of people have co to Atlantic City, all here for the bootlegging syndicate. So are trying to persuade you, boss, to continue managing the syndicate, expressing that they are willing to accept the trend of declining profits, as long as you continue to manage it!”

Henry Dale stood behind Donnie, reciting the nas of those seeking for Donnie to continue managing the syndicate to Tang Fei.

Of course, this list only includes those who hold weight in this syndicate.

After finishing the list, Henry Dale regretfully said.

“The Rothschild family, and so of the influential financial magnates in the United States didn’t co to inquire.”

Donnie turned around, a smile on his face, and said, “Don’t underestimate those people. Even if they’re not the smartest in Arica, they certainly have the smartest people under them. These people clearly understand that the bootlegging syndicate is a powder keg right now; whoever takes it over is bound to get blown up!”

Henry Dale nodded and then worriedly said, “Boss, could our opponents make a move on this issue to prevent others from taking over?”

Donnie laughed and said, “If they could stop it, would there still be so many people coming to Atlantic City to take over the bootlegging syndicate?”

Greed blinds the heart!

Donnie believes that families like the Rothschilds can see the results of taking over the bootlegging syndicate and also believe they can endure the benefits it brings.

But not everyone is the Rothschild family!

Wealth is sought amid risks.

Annual profits of over a hundred million dollars, not everyone can endure that.

So many, even knowing it’s a pit, will still choose to jump in!

Moreover, everyone who jumps in thinks they can pass this powder keg to soone else before it explodes.

What really worries Donnie are those in various levels of the U.S. governnt. When this interests alliance was ford, Donnie beca their most trusted person in this matter.

Now this most trusted person is suddenly stepping away and wants to bring in soone new. They are reluctant to part with their vested interests, but can’t trust outsiders, so they will do everything they can to retain Donnie.

But luckily, this year’s election has ended, and Herbert Hoover has successfully been elected the 31st President of the United States.

This April, Herbert Hoover will formally take on the duties of President of the United States.

During this period, for the U.S. political arena, the most important thing is how to smoothly transition power.

This is why Donnie has chosen this ti to give up the bootlegging syndicate.

“Boss, your analysis is correct!” Henry Dale thought for a while and said, “Given the current situation, those most actively taking over the bootlegging syndicate are actually people from the Arican Family Alliance!”

Donnie nodded. In fact, he was inclined to hand over the bootlegging syndicate to these people.

To Donnie, these people are like chamber pots; when he needs them, they’re there by his side, but if he doesn’t need them, there’s no need for them to be there.

Simply put, they are people who can be discarded at any ti.

The consortia that can manage them understand the risks of the bootlegging syndicate. Those who can’t, even if they get it, will be driven to distraction until the syndicate crumbles before Prohibition is lifted!

“Let John handle the Family Alliance people first. Let’s see if they can negotiate common benefits for everyone!”

Donnie decided to put the matter aside for now.

“By the way, is the congratulatory gift for Hoover ready?”

Donnie asked Henry Dale.

Even though Donnie provided imnse support for Herbert Hoover’s presidential campaign, both financially and electorally.

Now that he’s beco President of the United States, the proper courtesies must still be extended, given that he is the President now.

Henry Dale said, “It’s ready!”

Donnie nodded and said, “Make arrangents for the trip to Washington!”

“Alright!” Henry Dale thought for a mont and asked, “Should we inform Café Jackson?”

Donnie nodded, “Let them know.”

“Okay!”

Just as Henry Dale was about to leave, Donnie suddenly called him back again.

“Let John know to tell those Family Alliance mbers to behave themselves in Atlantic City while I’m away. I don’t want to co back from Washington and hear that they’re causing trouble here.”

Henry Dale nodded and went to handle these matters.

The next day!

Donnie took a train to Washington.

When Donnie arrived at the station, Café Jackson personally ca to greet him.

“The future Attorney General of the United States, you must be quite busy with work now, right?”

Donnie teased after eting Café Jackson.

With Herbert Hoover successfully elected President, his Cabinet mbers are also being actively chosen. Of course, this selection isn’t simply about Herbert Hoover wanting to use whoever he wants.

Herbert Hoover must weigh the balance of various forces, actively seeking an arrangent that everyone can accept.
