Chapter 1394: Chapter 483: Competing with Swiss Banks for Business (Part 2)
Aguirre and Escovar heard that Donnie had sent them a telegram, and they stood up together, taking the telegram written by Donnie from the adjutant’s hand.
Seeing the two n’s expressions, Warren Wagner smiled, knowing that his boss’s business in xico was secure!
Of course, Warren Wagner was already aware of the contents of the telegram Donnie sent them.
Both Aguirre and Escovar opened their respective telegrams, and after seeing the contents, their faces slightly changed, but simultaneously they handed over their telegrams to each other.
The telegrams contained the sa ssage: Donnie was writing to hope they would agree to release and exile Calles!
“Mr. Wagner, do you know the content of the telegram?” Escovar asked Warren Wagner.
Warren Wagner nodded and said, “I know, my boss hopes that the two commanders can release and exile Calles!”
Aguirre asked in a low voice, “Mr. Wagner, doesn’t Mr. Block dislike Calles?”
Warren Wagner smiled and said, “My boss told that business is greater than everything, and there is no matter of personal likes or dislikes. Calles is a valuable client of Breton Bank, and we do not like it if our client suddenly disappears. Although it might bring us unexpected wealth, it would make us lose the most precious credibility.
So our boss hopes Calles stays alive, and not just alive but very happy!
Rest assured, gentlen commanders, our boss can guarantee that Calles will henceforth live in the United States, and will never step foot on xican soil!
Actually, besides considering Breton Bank’s interests, our boss is also considering the interests of the two commanders!”
Aguirre was hesitant to release Calles. He knew very well that the prestige Calles held in xico would bring them more trouble in managing xico!
But now, Warren Wagner says it’s for his own consideration?
“I don’t quite understand what you an, Mr. Wagner!”
Warren Wagner laughed and said, “Firstly, Calles has high prestige in xico, and many xican people support Calles. If Calles is killed at this ti, it might provoke resistance among so xican citizens, similar to how Calles’s governnt handled the situation with churchgoers before.
Secondly, the current situation in xico is unstable, and no one can predict what might happen in a few years, not even a decade. I think neither Obregon nor Calles could predict today’s scenario when they overthrew the forr governnt.”
Actually, Warren Wagner was reminding Aguirre and Escovar that Calles’s situation mirrors theirs; everyone ca to power through ard coups. Today, they can overthrow Calles’s regi, but in the future, soone might overthrow theirs.
If they kill Calles now, their future successors might kill them.
Leave room for maneuver!
Aguirre and Escovar understood Wagner’s underlying ssage.
Escovar then said, “Aguirre, I think Mr. Block is correct. We are already the victors now, and as victors, we should show a conqueror’s deanor. With Mr. Block’s assurance, we needn’t worry about Calles coming back to cause trouble for us.
The most important thing is that this resolves our trouble. After all, Calles has good relations with various national leaders!”
Escovar thought differently from Aguirre; he was previously worried about how to handle Calles’s situation.
Killing him would have too great an impact!
Letting him go would bring endless trouble!
Now, thankfully, Donnie is helping them solve this problem, alleviating their prior concerns!
Aguirre pondered for a mont and suddenly smiled, “Since Mr. Block has spoken, there is naturally no issue, but after releasing Calles, he must leave xico imdiately!”
Warren Wagner smiled and said, “No need to worry, Commander Aguirre. Our company has already prepared a passenger ship to send Calles to the United States imdiately!”
They then discussed the details of their cooperation further, with Aguirre and Escovar focused on asking Warren Wagner when the official congratulatory docunt from the United States would arrive.
Warren Wagner assured them that the official congratulatory docunt would arrive once they publicly announced the new regi!
Aguirre and Escovar were very satisfied with this outco!
.
xico, Altamira Port!
Once the ruler of xico, Calles, now boarded a luxurious passenger ship under the cover of night and without attention, with Levin Peters beside him.
Walking onto the deck, Calles stood there, gazing at the country that once belonged to him, feeling many emotions. Everything that had transpired recently felt like a dream to him!
“I never thought Block would be the one to save in the end!”
Facing the sea breeze, Calles calmly said.
Levin Peters laughed and said, “You should be grateful, Calles, that you listened to Wagner’s advice and moved your funds back to Breton Bank!”
Calles laughed self-mockingly, “At first, I only thought Block coveted xico’s business. When Aguirre and Escovar rebelled, I thought Block coveted the entire country of xico. Now that I’ve boarded the vessel to the United States, I realize Block not only covets those, but also the assets of everyone like around the world!”
Levin Peters responded, “Our boss only hopes everyone can place their funds in the safest bank since earning money is difficult!”
Calles brushed his hair back with his hand and asked Levin Peters, “Your boss’s approach now is competing with Swiss banks; they are not easy to deal with!”
Levin Peters indifferently replied, “That’s not sothing I should consider; I just need to ensure that Calles reaches Atlantic City smoothly, and my task is completed.”
Calles asked, “Does that an I’ll live in Atlantic City forever?”
Levin Peters shook his head and said, “Of course not. Our boss specially asked to tell you, Calles, that you are free to go anywhere in the United States, or even leave the country, except for one condition: you may not return to xico, nor contact your forr subordinates in xico since Aguirre and Escovar are also our bank’s partners.”
Calles was slightly stunned, thinking he would be imprisoned in Atlantic City for life as a living sign for Breton Bank. But he hadn’t expected Donnie to give him such freedom?
Soon, Calles understood; Donnie was still using him as a living sign since the better he lived in the United States, the more people like him would place their funds in Breton Bank!
“By the way!” Levin Peters continued, “Our boss also asked to tell you, Calles, that if you don’t have any good investnt projects temporarily in the United States, you can place your funds in Venus Bank, which still offers considerable returns!”
Calles nodded in agreent but said nothing.
With the roar of the passenger ship, the vessel carrying Calles departed the port, and Calles headed back to his cabin. Before returning, however, he saw two children playing on the deck; they weren’t his own children, his children were in the room.
“Who are they?”
Levin Peters smiled and said, “They are Hector Moreno’s family.”
