The Democratic Party has considerable influence.
They can accept being suppressed, but they absolutely cannot tolerate having soone defecate and urinate on their necks. Donnie and others can organize their newspapers and dia outlets to suppress the "Wall Street Journal," but they absolutely cannot allow themselves to be destroyed. If that happens, it might trigger the Democratic Party’s last-ditch retaliation.
At that point, it would no longer be a comrcial matter.
In fact, both now and in the future, the Republican Party and the Democratic Party are maintaining this precarious balance.
Donnie said, "The most important thing right now is that we cannot retaliate. If we retaliate, we will fall into their trap. Currently, it’s only the ’Wall Street Journal’ reporting on this matter, and its influence is limited to Wall Street and so financial investnt circles. If we retaliate, the whole nation will find out!"
Jack Morgan agreed with Donnie’s statent.
Both of them were now silent, as the opposition had chosen the most suitable ti to launch the most fitting attack.
If Donnie and others retaliate, they will fall into the opponent’s trap, escalating the matter. If they do not, it would be tantamount to tacit approval. If they truly wish to attack Deep Sea Bank’s listing, they will certainly continue to expand the coverage on this front.
"I recall that Al Smith was able to secure the Democratic Party’s internal presidential candidate votes because he had the support of most of the ’Wet Faction’ individuals?"
Donnie asked Jack Morgan.
Political party groups are very complex groups, and it’s the sa with the parties in the United States. You can differentiate them by Democratic and Republican thods, but you can also distinguish them by ’Dry Faction’ and ’Wet Faction.’
The ’Dry Faction’ and ’Wet Faction’ are unique political party groups in the United States during the Prohibition era and around that ti.
Simply put, the ’Dry Faction’ represents political figures who support prohibition, while the ’Wet Faction’ represents those who do not support prohibition. Within these two major factions, there are many different parties.
Donnie, as the biggest bootlegger in the United States, naturally supports prohibition because the more prohibition there is, the higher the prices of alcohol in the United States beco.
At the start of prohibition, a bottle of whiskey sold for 8 US Dollars, which already led many to exclaim that the price was outrageously high. But now, a bottle of whiskey sells for 20 US Dollars.
Every year, Donnie can earn over 300 million US Dollars in pure inco from bootlegging alone.
Over the years, Donnie has leveraged the business of his Bootlegging Empire to create a massive empire, drawing together bootleggers, governnt officials, police detectives, the Coast Guard, and other forces.
However, this does not an that everyone is within this empire.
As a result, they began to resist. Because they could not gain benefits, they began ensuring that others couldn’t either. Initially, these people acted independently, posing no threat, but over the years, they have long since connected into a massive opposing empire.
Upon hearing Donnie suddenly ntion this matter, Jack Morgan was slightly startled but responded, "That’s right, Al Smith received more than twelve tis Cordell Hull’s votes, largely because many people voted for Al Smith due to his opposition to prohibition."
Cordell Hull, a Democratic candidate from Tennessee and a representative figure of the ’Dry Faction,’ competed with Al Smith this year for the nomination of the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate but lost to Al Smith. Later, during Franklin Roosevelt’s presidency, he beca a mber of Franklin Roosevelt’s Cabinet as Secretary of State!
Donnie said, "Now it is impossible to extinguish this news, but we can divert the public’s attention away from us to other matters!"
To extinguish a hot news item, there are two simple thods that have been repeatedly effective from now to later.
First, morally destroy the person who raised the issue!
The fundantal logic is, I don’t discuss the topics you want to discuss, I only talk about you personally. For instance, if soone questions a particular brand of car and even acts overbearingly, even if the issues they complain about truly exist, the car company will target the person, denouncing them as a scoundrel, a playboy—whatever things contradict societal morals can be blad on this person.
Then the issue is resolved, because if the person raising the issue is immoral, the problem they posed likewise doesn’t exist.
Second, is to shift the topic by creating news with even greater heat.
Everyone’s attention is limited, much like when following sensational stories; they can’t focus on several hot news items simultaneously.
In such circumstances, you will find many topics suddenly becoming hot issues, especially various scandalous news. When these erge, they beco highly trending, but abruptly, another news item appears to replace them.
The reason is, as the party involved in the initial news can’t explain their own issue, they switch to a more eyeball-grabbing story so that all who were previously focused on them will no longer pay attention to the original matter.
