Chapter 1175: Chapter 401: Western Remnants, Part 3

“Mr. Sermont, Mr. Burns is my friend, there must be so misunderstanding here, let’s leave it at that!”

Nate Sermont knew that one of his boss’s wives was the daughter of Earl Bock, and this daughter had recently given birth to a pair of twins for his boss.

“Since you have said it, Earl Bock, then naturally there’s no problem!”

Old Burns knew at this mont that Atlantic City truly didn’t care about him. Under normal circumstances, he would have left without hesitation, but now he couldn’t. George V was about to arrive in Atlantic City, and he had to stay in Atlantic City to welco the King.

So, in the end, Old Burns resignedly booked the best available room at the Surf Hotel.

Donnie soon learned of this news.

Sitting on the sofa in his office, Donnie looked at Walker with so helplessness: “If I had known, I wouldn’t have agreed to your terms!”

Walker replied awkwardly with a smile: “I didn’t expect these people to be so… ”

For a mont, Walker didn’t know how to describe the behavior of these people.

Old Burns was not alone in this behavior; there were even worse cases. So people even boasted about being aristocrats, insisting that the Surf Hotel should waive all their expenses.

So even proposed that the Surf Hotel provide them with certain implicit services free of charge.

“Is this the nobility you once spoke of?”

Donnie increasingly looked down on these people; in Donnie’s eyes, they were simply remnants of a bygone era!

Walker retorted with a sigh: “What can I say, these people live in their own circles and hardly interact with the outside world, still thinking it’s the old days!”

Donnie said: “Let’s be clear, I’m definitely not indulging these types. If they cause any trouble in Atlantic City, don’t say I didn’t warn you!”

Walker nodded: “Don’t worry, if they do cause trouble, I won’t indulge them either!”

In fact, these people really did stir up a commotion.

Perhaps because they ca separately, initially causing only individual disruptions, but as they gathered in Atlantic City, they created quite a collective din.

“Boss, led by old Burns, these people have drafted a ceremony to welco George V and are insisting that you personally go to discuss it with them!”

Nate Sermont handed a few sheets of paper to Donnie, looking a bit concerned.

Donnie took the papers, filled densely with various rules, but as soon as he seriously examined the first line, he tossed the papers aside.

“Did you lose your mind to a train on your way here, bringing such things to read?”

Donnie glared at Nate Sermont, displeased.

The first rule in these guidelines was that Donnie should kneel when eting George V.

Moreover, they demanded that all arrangents for receiving George V should be left entirely to them.

Yes, they would take the spotlight, while Donnie would be left to foot the bill.

Nate Sermont cautiously answered: “It’s mainly because there are so many of them, and they’re quite old, with so influence in New York. I worry they might do sothing bad.”

Donnie cast a glance at Nate Sermont and said coldly: “This is Atlantic City; even if that bunch of old guys in their seventies or eighties have influence, so what? Do you really want to kneel and welco George V?”

Nate Sermont quickly shook his head: “Of course not! I’ll go deal with this right away!”

“Wait a minute!” Donnie called out to Nate Sermont, saying: “Inform Walker about this and let him handle it!”

Nate Sermont nodded quickly and left in a hurry.

When Walker learned about these matters, he was also taken aback; he knew they were sowhat thoughtless, but he hadn’t expected them to leave their brains back in New York entirely.

Having Donnie kneel to greet George V, what were they thinking?

Walker approached where old Burns was, finding him and others actively discussing how to welco George V.

“Walker, you’re just in ti!” Upon seeing Walker, old Burns imdiately spoke: “We just thought of sothing: Donnie should furnish the room for His Majesty the King and the viewing box for watching horse races entirely with silverware. Go tell Donnie to arrange it at once!”

Naturally, Walker wouldn’t comply with old Burns’ command; he directly sat on the room’s sofa instead.

These remnants of the older generation showed discontent with Walker’s actions.

“Walker, didn’t you hear what I said? If your grandmother were here, she would surely teach you the basic manners of a noble!”

Old Burns said coldly.

“Enough!” Walker waved his hand and said coldly, “Put away your antics. I’m here to inform you of two things: first, you have lost the opportunity to accompany Mr. Block in welcoming George V, and second, I’ve decided to reconsider cooperation with so of your families. The Astor Family will seek new partners, not those stuck in the last century.”

Hearing Walker’s words, old Burns imdiately beca enraged.

“Walker, do you know what you’re saying? You’re abandoning the honor of nobility; you will lose everything you have today!”

Walker clapped his hands on the sofa, stood up, and said coldly: “What I have is not yours to take away with words. Previously, considering your age, I showed so respect, but now? Since you don’t care about dignity, don’t bla !”

After saying this, Walker left imdiately, worried that staying any longer might affect his intelligence!
