Chapter 1170: Chapter 400: Elite Club

On the third day after the Venus Consortium’s full eting ended, Owen Young finally t Donnie.

“Young, I know you’ve been wanting to see these past two days. Is there sothing you want to discuss?”

Donnie displayed his amiability towards Owen Young.

Owen Young sat on the sofa in Donnie’s office and seriously said, “Respected boss, do you have no specific instructions for General Electric?”

Donnie smiled and asked, “Do you hope I can offer so advice on General Electric’s developnt?”

Owen Young was sowhat at a loss on how to answer Donnie’s question. At the eting, he saw Donnie appointing a major direction for other companies but offering no advice for General Electric, which made Owen Young feel a bit disappointed, sensing Donnie’s lack of attention to General Electric.

But now, Donnie’s words left him unable to respond in that manner. As the president of General Electric, Owen Young hoped he could, like forr presidents of General Electric, have strong authority within the consortium.

Donnie didn’t continue to make it difficult for Owen Young and said with a smile, “Young, rest assured, General Electric is a company I value greatly. Precisely because of my esteem for it, I understand that for the enormous General Electric, the best advice is to allow it to continue safely in its designated path, like before. You know, small boats can easily turn around on the sea, but large ships cannot!”

Donnie was very clear that, even without his involvent, General Electric could normally develop into one of the world’s largest electrical companies. Given that this is the case, he felt no need to formulate a developnt plan for General Electric at this mont.

Allowing it to continue on its originally designated path is the best arrangent for General Electric.

Of course, there’s another matter to consider.

Venus Bank is the largest shareholder of General Electric, but it’s not the controlling shareholder, similar to the situation with Westinghouse.

However, if Venus Bank were to begin acquiring shares of General Electric and Westinghouse now, the expenditures would amount to a substantial figure.

Donnie can completely wait until the Great Depression. By then, the market value of these two companies will shrink by more than 50%, and that’s when Donnie can acquire General Electric and Westinghouse shares, or even orchestrate the privatization of these two companies.

That’s when Venus Bank would truly begin reorganizing these two companies.

These matters, however, Donnie couldn’t discuss with Owen Young at the mont.

Although Owen Young’s abilities are sowhat inferior compared to the previous president of General Electric, that’s only relative to the last president. As far as Arican professional managers go, Owen Young’s abilities are quite outstanding.

Donnie still wanted Owen Young to honestly serve him for a while longer!

After hearing Donnie’s explanation, Owen Young felt more at ease, realizing that it’s not neglect by Donnie but rather the imnse scale of General Electric that led Donnie to hesitate in altering its developnt strategy.

With this doubt resolved, Owen Young thought about the Westinghouse matter.

“Mr. Block, the president of Westinghouse, declined to attend the group’s eting citing illness. I believe you should reprimand him; otherwise, they will beco increasingly reckless in the future!”

If he could convince Donnie to complete a full acquisition of Westinghouse and then rge General Electric with Westinghouse, Owen Young would ensure his na is etched in the history of General Electric.

Donnie perceived Owen Young’s inner thoughts, wore a smile while looking at him but said nothing.

Donnie’s smile made Owen Young’s anticipation turn into apprehension, feeling as if Donnie had seen through his inner thoughts.

“Young, I’ll consider this matter. But as you saw earlier, Venus Bank has many issues to deal with. For now, I can’t spare the ti. Let’s discuss it later!”

Owen Young dared not say anything further but felt rather helpless inside. In his view, the matter was extrely important, yet for Donnie, it was sothing that could be postponed.

After sending Owen Young away, Donnie dealt with other matters, mainly eting with the heads of various subsidiaries. Although Donnie had provided them with developnt strategies on major directions during the eting, they also needed to describe specific affairs to him!

After completing these tasks, Donnie returned to the seaside manor… next to it!

The Bock Earl family was still here at this ti.

Donnie found Earl Bock.

“Mr. Bock, in so ti, King George V will arrive at Atlantic City to watch the horse-racing event at Atlantic City’s Racing Club. I think you can stay here until then. I’ll arrange for you to share a box with King George V to view the horse races!”

After hearing Donnie’s words, Earl Bock showed an excited expression.

George V still holds high prestige in the hearts of the United Kingdom’s people.

George V’s grandmother was the United Kingdom’s Queen Victoria, and his father was Queen Victoria’s eldest son, Edward VII.

However, George V was not Edward VII’s eldest son but his second son.
