Chapter 1162: Chapter 397: The Mighty Venus Business Empire (Part 1)
Westinghouse’s resistance is quite fierce, even though Venus Bank is now the largest shareholder of Westinghouse, the other side still relies on its control over Westinghouse and is rely going through the motions with Venus Bank’s orders.
Like Westinghouse, absent from today’s eting is Bobby Mozelle, the president of Portugal’s central bank. It’s not that Bobby Mozelle has developed second thoughts from being in Portugal for too long, it’s mainly because Donnie didn’t want too many people to know about the relationship between Venus Bank and Portugal’s central bank, so he didn’t let Bobby Mozelle co.
Walter Disney of Disney, Thomas Watson of IBM, and Robert Woodford of Coca-Cola are among those specially invited today!
The companies present today essentially form one of the largest consortiums in the United States at the mont, the Venus Consortium!
Currently, the Venus Consortium is involved in multiple sectors: finance, tourism, dia, oil, logistics, heavy industry, agriculture and animal husbandry, entertainnt, arms, and pharmaceuticals.
Donnie’s primary goal for this eting with these people is to stabilize the current situation of the company.
Lately, the Venus Consortium has been engaged in nurous acquisitions, including the previous acquisition of Walkerberg Company. Even now, Venus Bank has only just begun to fully digest its business.
Moreover, many of these companies have only recently completed acquisitions, so fully digesting them won’t be an easy task.
Secondly, Donnie listened to the reports from the heads of the various companies!
Nate Sermont stated that Surf Hotel is currently collaborating with the Astor Family to establish luxury hotels across the United States.
Previously, Donnie and Walker t once, at which ti Donnie’s suggestion to Walker was to enter the hotel industry, specifically the luxury hotel sector. Walker had no objections to this, and Donnie entrusted this business to Surf Hotel for collaboration.
After all, Surf Hotel already has very advanced concepts in hotel managent!
“Discuss with Walker, I’m planning to have Surf Hotel establish a budget hotel brand. See if they’re interested?”
Donnie said to Nate Sermont.
Unlike those newly acquired or established companies, Surf Hotel can be considered a veteran of Venus Bank, so there’s no question of accumulation.
The establishnt of budget hotels is actually in preparation for when the United States enters a Great Depression in the future.
Luxury hotels are certainly more upscale, but once the Great Depression hits, there won’t be many Aricans who can afford high-end hotels.
Donnie’s decision surprised many present, especially Walter Disney, Thomas Watson, and Robert Woodford, who were puzzled.
Now, with the Arican economy booming and everyone having money, it’s the best ti to develop luxury hotels. Why is Donnie thinking of establishing budget hotels?
What’s even more startling to them is that although they can all see that this is an unsuitable order, they also believe that Nate Sermont, who has already beco a major figure in the Arican hotel industry, can see this too. But upon receiving Donnie’s order, Nate Sermont almost didn’t hesitate and imdiately said.
“I understand, I’ll contact the Astor Family after the eting and direct the company to establish a budget hotel departnt.”
Donnie nodded.
Then Bastian Robinson reported to Donnie.
Starry dia currently has two major projects under its wing, “Atlantic City Post” and Miss Arica, with others including ABC and the Atlantic City Racing Club already spun off from Starry dia.
Bastian Robinson stated that although “Atlantic City Post” is now one of the newspapers with the largest national circulation, it still cannot completely break through the barriers of western newspapers in the Arican west. So he plans to make acquisitions of two to three newspapers over there to realize a tactic of indirect influence!
Donnie thought for a mont and said: “Alright, but you have to be careful, those newspapers over there are not easy to deal with. They’ve been operating there for many years and have very tight relations with the local State Governnt and City Hall!”
Bastian Robinson nodded: “I understand, so I’ve decided to adopt a gentle approach to enter. There aren’t just those few newspapers over there, let’s secure more distribution channels first!”
Donnie nodded. Then he said to Duster Boqi, CEO of Apollo Chain: “On this point, I hope Apollo Chain can provide more support to Starry dia!”
“Alright!” Duster Boqi nodded, then said to Bastian Robinson: “Mr. Robinson, let’s talk separately after the eting!”
Bastian Robinson thanked: “Thank you, Mr. Boqi!”
Seeing the friendly negotiation between the two, Walter Disney and others were even more curious, as such a vast comrcial empire with every subsidiary is essentially an empire itself shouldn’t it be fraught with issues internally?
In reality, such issues do exist!
Donnie had long discovered this and has implented counterasures, but eradicating them completely is impossible. However, these people have been with Donnie the longest and understand his personality very well.
If Donnie speaks up in such occasions and one still drags their feet, then the next day, one’s position might be replaced by others, and one’s current status and wealth would be gone!
