Chapter 1148: 392. So things do not require evidence_3

Donnie had a full contingent of 100 guards with him for this trip. Every ti Donnie traveled, he would reserve an entire train, ensuring maximum safety!

“No need, I’ll stay at the county’s hotel. Once John Garner arrives here, I will co over!”

Tom Wagner knew it wasn’t that Donnie didn’t trust the security here, but rather that Donnie would take this ti to seek out other farrs!

Tom Wagner was right; Donnie was indeed seeking opportunities to negotiate with other farrs. So were quick to agree to sell in the face of Donnie’s offer, so said they’d consider it, and so were unwilling to et with Donnie.

Very soon, John Garner arrived at Wagner Farm.

Donnie also arrived once more at the Wagner Farm.

At this point, when John Garner saw Donnie, his expression was incredibly complicated. Just as he arrived at Wagner Farm, Tom Wagner had already inford him of Donnie’s recent actions.

Taking a deep breath, John Garner earnestly said to Donnie again, “Block, I swear to God, I had nothing to do with the ambush on you!”

Donnie, sitting on the sofa, waved his hand and said, “Mr. Gana, I can no longer believe your words. Edgar Hoover told that you had hinted to him about getting rid of . Moreover, you were among the few who knew about my schedule that night. If I don’t suspect you, then who?”

John Garner, suppressing his anger, said, “You have no evidence!”

Donnie sneered, “Do you think that at this point, I need evidence? Now you are the main suspect, so I have no choice but to focus all attention on you!”

John Garner, breathless, said, “Aren’t you afraid of my revenge?”

Donnie waved and said, “John Garner, you should know that your revenge on , even if it requires to pay a price, will take ti. In that ti, I can certainly wait for you to step down. And the cost of your revenge is sothing I can bear!”

This was the standoff between the two in this particular environnt.

Donnie believed that if John Garner decided to go for broke, he indeed had the power to retaliate. However, most of Donnie’s business interests intertwined with those of various parties, making them beyond John Garner’s reach. But John Garner was different; to exact revenge, he needed a stable support base, which Donnie was already undermining.

Political opponents are often more troubleso and ruthless than business rivals.

At that ti, John Garner would face pressure from both sides, leaving him with no other options.

“I truly don’t know who did it. I admit I initially wanted to use Edgar Hoover to get rid of you because you had evidence of radium-containing goods, and I didn’t want that evidence in the public eye.

But likewise, I understood the massive impact of getting rid of you, and there’s no way I’d do sothing so foolish!”

At this mont, John Garner had conceded!

Donnie said, “So you first inford Edgar Hoover, creating the illusion that it was all Edgar Hoover’s doing. Even if you succeeded, my people would only focus on Edgar Hoover, not you!”

John Garner shouted, “Of course not! Don’t forget, Edgar Hoover knows about this. If I frad him, he would certainly reveal the truth, and then I couldn’t escape the consequences!”

Donnie waved his hand and said, “Gana, do you still want to deny it at this point? If it was as you said, you wouldn’t have needed to hint at Edgar Hoover to take action!”

John Garner realized he was caught in a vicious cycle.

“I really didn’t do it. I just wanted to use Edgar Hoover’s hand. If he didn’t succeed, I wouldn’t have done anything. Block, you should know that doing it oneself and hinting at soone else to do it are two completely different things!”

Donnie looked at John Garner and couldn’t determine if he was telling the truth or not.

So Donnie posed a second question, “Tell about your dealings with Thor Brady?”

John Garner’s face suddenly changed, and he said, “Thor Brady, I rember now, he knows about that night’s party!”

Donnie didn’t fully trust John Garner’s words. He indeed suspected Thor Brady, but if Thor Brady wanted to eliminate him, there must be a fundantal logic behind it, and Donnie couldn’t recall having any direct conflict with Thor Brady!

“How did he know I was going to the White House for the event that night?”

John Garner said, “I told him. At the ti, I didn’t think much of it; we were just chatting, and it ca up!”

Donnie asked, “Why would he do that? There’s no reason!”

This was the point that puzzled Donnie the most.

John Garner also shook his head and said, “I don’t know either, but I’m sure he knew about that night. But whether he did it or not, I don’t know!”

Since he couldn’t get any useful information from John Garner, Donnie wasn’t going to brazenly kill a National Congress mber either.

“Alright, Mr. John Garner, our conversation is over. Now I need to discuss farm acquisitions with Mr. Tom Wagner!”
