The 33-year-old Harry Earl didn’t expect to et Donnie Block under such circumstances today!
Harry Earl was born in Los Angeles, California. His family was quite wealthy, with his father being a well-known local body manufacturer, which actually ant maker of carriage bodies.
In 1908, Harry Earl’s father established Earl Automobile Plant, specializing in body customization and automotive parts.
At the age of 19, Harry Earl got into Stanford University, but, like many legendary figures in the United States, despite his affluent family background, Harry Earl chose to drop out halfway and join his father’s company.
Upon joining the company, Harry Earl brought a new business to his father’s company, modifying cars for the wealthy in California.
Through this business, Harry Earl invented the use of clay to design car shapes.
As Earl Automobile Plant began to gain fa, it caught the eye of luxury car manufacturer Cadillac. Just before Donnie and Pierre DuPont signed the contract regarding the sale of Cadillac vehicles, Cadillac acquired Earl Automobiles, and Harry Earl naturally joined Cadillac, becoming a designer for them.
Just as Harry Earl joined Cadillac, he didn’t even have ti to choose sides before internal struggles at Cadillac began.
"Mr. Block!"
Harry Earl stood opposite Donnie, speaking with a sowhat excited expression.
Among young people in the United States, none did not admire Donnie Block. Starting from scratch, in just a few years, he had beco one of the most powerful figures in the nation. Such a legendary experience made countless young Aricans see Tang Fei as their idol.
Harry Earl was no exception!
Donnie motioned for Harry Earl to sit down and asked directly, "Mr. Earl, if I ask you to beco the chief designer of Cadillac, do you have the ability to do it?"
Harry Earl, whose mood was already unsettled due to eting Donnie, beca even more excited after hearing this question from Donnie.
For a mont, he didn’t know what to say.
Donnie looked at Harry Earl’s deanor and asked, "Not confident?"
Harry Earl then realized that imnse fortune had suddenly landed on him.
"Confident!" Harry Earl said loudly, "But there are so issues!"
Donnie motioned for him to sit down and then said with a smile, "What issues? Tell , and I’ll help solve them right now. But once your issues are resolved, I need you to produce a new car model that will dazzle the whole United States!"
Harry Earl organized his thoughts and said, "First is the lack of funds. I’ve previously ntioned to Mr. Sack, hoping to secure funding for developing new car models, but Mr. Sack believes I should first serve Cadillac’s existing models well. Additionally, I need so people to help with my designs; so are not available in our company!"
Donnie nodded and said, "Firstly, the first issue is no longer a problem. Mr. Sack will be leaving Cadillac due to health reasons, and you’ll beco the chief designer of Cadillac. As for funding, the company will prioritize allocating funds to your project. As for talent, I grant you recruitnt authority; anyone you deem suitable can be brought into the company at the sa treatnt level as the company’s designers!"
Harry Earl nodded excitedly, then said, "There’s one more issue; I need cooperation from the workshop. After all, once we’ve designed the new vehicle, the workshop needs to manufacture it so we can identify issues from the physical product!"
Donnie nodded again and said, "That’s no problem either. When the ti cos, Mr. Fisher will arrange that for you!"
Harry Earl was incredibly happy; this eting granted him a position many dream of, along with actual authority. Cadillac’s situation instead provided him an opportunity to showcase his talent.
Harry Earl was very happy!
Donnie nodded and let Harry Earl sit on the office sofa, then spoke to Rudwell Wells, "Go get Stein Saka and Mihador here!"
Rudwell Wells nodded and went to handle the task.
Not long after, Stein Saka and Mihador, who were discussing the matter in Stein Saka’s office, arrived at Donnie’s office.
Stein Saka saw Harry Earl sitting on the sofa, but showed no change in expression; in his view, Harry Earl was just a newly joined designer, unable to stir up much trouble.
"Mr. Block!"
The two respectfully addressed Donnie.
Donnie spoke calmly, "Now, I want you two to have those protesting and demonstrating people leave here and return to their workplaces. I’ll pretend nothing happened!
Stein Saka showed a puzzled and aggrieved expression, "Mr. Block, how can you think it’s us doing this? We completely stand on the side of company interests!"
Donnie waved his hand, with a aningful smile, and asked, "When did I say you were doing this? Now, the majority of those outside protesting and demonstrating are from the workshop and design departnt. I’m asking you two to persuade them, is there any problem?"
Stein Saka’s expression froze, quickly finding his words, "No problem, but Mr. Block, if we just verbally persuade them, they surely won’t agree. These people are stubborn, and without eting their demands, they definitely won’t leave!"
