The temple lay in ruins, and Marquis Youxi, one of the culprits behind this destruction, had already taken his leave. Brand glanced at Main Priest Wood, "Lord of Priest, you shouldn’t have co out," he said seriously, a stark contrast to his previous joking deanor.
"If I hadn’t co out, wouldn’t you have torn down this temple? Do you know how long this temple has been standing?" Main Priest Wood raised his eyelids slightly, answering with a hint of annoyance.
Brand smiled awkwardly, turning back to Princess Magdalene, "I haven’t thanked you yet, Your Highness. May I ask your na?"
"Just call Magdalene, here I am rely a nun, sir," Magdalene sighed, "I’m sorry... I should have stopped your duel, now it’s caused so much trouble. This temple is Master Rogering’s labor of love, we’ve desecrated this artwork terribly, it’s all my fault."
"No," Brand shook his head and said, "You don’t need to take the bla, Your Highness. Even if you had stopped, I would have insisted on dueling him."
The Nun Princess widened her brown eyes slightly, surprised, "Why, sir, do you not regret it?"
"If I cannot protect my subordinates, that is when I would regret it," Brand replied earnestly, "Princess Magdalene, this is why I thank you."
"It’s the first ti I’ve heard such a statent. Usually, vassals are loyal to their superiors, defending their followers even at the cost of their lives — isn’t that the duty and obligation?" Magdalene blinked.
"Vassals are loyal to their lord, promising to grant their followers honor and protection; it’s a noble contract. In ancient tis, the ancestors who braved the wilderness made this vow," Main Priest Wood interjected, watching the monk soldiers cleaning up the ruins in the courtyard, "but for this, you’ll have to pay the price of a hundred thousand Thor, which is rather expensive."
Brand turned the newly acquired ring on his finger and shrugged, "Anyway, it’s not my money, and besides, that marquis paid far more than I did. He spent so much just to confirm if the Lord of Priest was officiating a Holy Temple Knight ceremony, now that’s quite a splurge." If Marquis Youxi were to return now and hear this, he’d probably be furious.
Wood did not respond.
"I see," Magdalene looked at Brand carefully, "Sir, may I ask your na?"
"Of course, my na is Sophie." Brand couldn’t help but glance at Main Priest Wood when he said this; he felt a bit embarrassed lying in front of the inford, but after all, the older one is the wiser, and Main Priest Wood maintained a nonchalant composure, as if he’d heard nothing.
"Sophie?" The Nun Princess muttered with a frown, "Why does that sound like a girl’s na?"
Her voice was very low, almost a self-talk, but unfortunately, Brand, having stepped into the Golden Domain, had heightened senses far beyond ordinary people. Upon hearing this, he couldn’t help but cough heavily. Fortunately, Magdalene didn’t dwell on this issue and instead lifted her head and asked him, "Mr. Sophie, did you co to Ambeser to take up the occupation of Holy Temple Knight at this point in ti?"
"Almost," Brand suddenly rembered sothing and added, "Besides that, I also want to look around Ambeser, broaden my horizons, I’ve long heard this is the most prosperous port in the Southern Territory of Vornede Continent, just always heard but never seen, since I’ve co this ti, of course, I must see more."
"I see. Indeed, Ambeser’s prosperity exceeds many places in Erune. But the most worthwhile places to visit in this city would be the Andevor Temple, besides, the White Stone Lighthouse and rare goods market are worth checking out as well. The charm of this city is indeed different from many places." The princess nodded in response.
"I’ve heard Ambeser holds the largest auction in the entire Southern Territory, and historically, items from fantasy have appeared in Ambeser’s auctions. Is that so?" Brand feigned inquiry, but in reality, no one present was more familiar with Ambeser’s auctions than him. It’s the auction that involves the largest number of players in all of Erune, held once a season, many players return from all corners of the world to participate in this grand event before it begins.
