Hello everyone. This is Takeshi Matsuyama.

The title of this work is 鈥楢maryllis in the Ice Country鈥? but the na Amaryllis itself was sothing I recalled. When I was young, I had a book I like called 鈥楾he Robber Hotzenplot鈥?(Written by Otfried Preussler), and there鈥檚 a pixie called 鈥楢maryllis鈥?inside. She鈥檚 very passionate, helping our protagonist who鈥檚 stuck in a fix. This pixie called Amaryllis left a deep impression on . Whenever I hear the na Amaryllis, I鈥檓 reminded of that pixie rather than the na of a flower.

After more than twenty years, I finally managed to have Amaryllis debut in a work. Robots and pixies are two completely different things, but cuteness and determination is a common point between them. Just to now, in the story 鈥楾he Robber Hotzenplot鈥? the pixie Amaryllis had 鈥榣ived underground for a very long ti鈥? It鈥檚 only after I finished writing this book that I realized this coincidence.
