"This power is simply irresistible, completely overpowering."
Just as the deford old man’s yellow teeth were about to bite through his own throat, Wang Hao hastily whispered, "Wait! It’s okay if you eat , but I have a few questions to ask!"
"I have a ginseng here! Eat the ginseng first, not , please, sir!"
With a trembling hand, the bright red ginseng fell to the ground, its roots still sared with so dirt.
The old man froze and began to mutter, "What’s going on? There’s a ginseng here, it looks very nourishing, should I eat it?"
"This kid actually gave a ginseng to stop from eating him, what’s going on?"
Wang Hao waited, holding his breath, unable to predict the next move of this madman.
The three-ard deford old man was clearly on the brink of insanity, his two greedy eyes waiting on him, yet staring at the ginseng, mumbling, "Should I eat the kid first, or the ginseng first. What’s going on? Maybe eat both."
"Of course, eat the ginseng first, the kid can’t run away. The ginseng is on the ground, what if soone else picks it up!" Wang Hao bluffed.
If he were to be killed in the next second, it ant this plan didn’t work, and he’d have to think of another.
"Right!"
The old man seed to have an epiphany, the third hand on his shoulder slowly grabbed Wang Hao’s head and crouched down.
He picked up the Blood Ginseng with so doubt and strangeness, and swiftly gobbled it up.
After that, he seed to digest the imnse vitality brought by the Blood Ginseng, the blood-red color in his eyes slightly clearing.
He recovered sowhat from that babbling madness.
With a soft "boom," a cloud of red gas jetted out from the old man’s rear.
Wang Hao rolled his eyes and cursed silently.
The three-handed deford old man moved away from the fart he released, gripping Wang Hao’s arm tightly, and asked with so caution, "Kid, who are you? Why are you giving food? Did you co here to offer yourself to ?"
Once Wang Hao started describing sensitive content related to "it," the old man would kill him at the fastest speed!
"It’s nothing much, just randomly wanted soone to chat with, ask so small questions. After this, it wouldn’t matter even if you ate , don’t be nervous, don’t be nervous, you can see I’m just an ordinary person."
After being grabbed, Wang Hao lost the ability to move, but he could still talk, "But I’m also not ordinary, as you know, those people from Taoyuan Village, they specifically captured from outside to fetch well water."
The deford old man paused, his schizophrenic tendencies acting up. In this haunted place, it had been too long since he last had a chat, his desire to talk surged.
"I also heard that, the people from Taoyuan Village went through a lot of trouble to deal with that tree, and then the spiritual child ran away. What’s going on? Are you that spiritual child?"
"Yes, that’s , sir, where are you from, how did you co here?"
The old man exclaid, "Asking where I’m from, just that question? What’s the deal here? I’m a Lord from the Great Qing Dynasty, how is it now?"
"The Great Qing Dynasty has long perished!" Wang Hao nearly laughed and cried.
"The Great Qing Dynasty has finished... yes, at the end of a dynasty, it’s always dood." He sat on a large rock with a somber look, pouring out his hardships, "Kid, I don’t even know how I ended up here. Ah, my mind is muddled, and I don’t have much lucid ti."
"I only rember, I too had a grandson about your age... Ah, I, as a Lord, am not a good person, I don’t know how many lives I have taken. But I also don’t want to die, so I can only continue wasting away, trying to find a chance to survive."
"My mind is still clear now, but soon, it won’t be. When it’s not clear, I unconsciously want to jump into the sea."
"But eating that ginseng, my mind will work well for a while."
"Why do you want to jump into the sea?" Wang Hao asked.
Another important piece of information!
He recalled Xu Zhijun from "Binge Eating Heaven II," being drawn in a certain direction, irresistibly walking towards that side.
"Everyone who jumps into the sea dies... I have no idea what’s going on! That’s why I desperately restrain myself, desperately hold on!"
"I won’t jump into the sea, because everyone who jumps into the sea will die!!" The deford old man’s head tumors wriggled, his eyes filled with blood, displaying a trace of madness.
Wang Hao didn’t dare to continue asking, and changed the topic, "Do you know Li Xianfeng?"
"Li Xianfeng... a great good man indeed!" The deford old man slapped his thigh, looking excited.
This seed to be an openly secret in the village, his voice lowered, "He was the one who told us the secret of the well... you see, the walls are covered with his writings."
"Sotis, I also copy a bit on the wall, hehe, ss up the village, maybe grab so well water in the chaos."
"I tell you, well water can make the mind clear! We jump into the sea because our minds are not clear! Drinking well water, we wouldn’t want to jump into the sea!"
"Those people from Taoyuan Village, hateful, wanting to monopolize this well. Luckily, Li Xianfeng discovered this secret!"
"Kid, would you help , a Lord, in exchange for so well water?"
Without questioning, Wang Hao was dragged through the door by the deford old man, who muttered non-stop along the way, "I’m not a good person; I do everything just to survive."
A faint red light emitted from the old man’s body, seemingly to fend off the ntal disturbances from within the walls.
This ti, he could move his head; Wang Hao saw more clearly what was happening on the other side of the wall.
This place was filled with all sorts of strange and exotic plants.
So plants sensed the presence of humans and slowly extended towards them, trying to grasp hold of this ordinary living person.
However, it was evident that the old man’s aura was strong.
As a Gatekeeper-caliber entity, an old monster who had lived for who knows how long, chasing away so strange plants was hardly a difficult task.
Toward the direction of the coastline, even more bizarre plants grew, and many Papern were hanging from them—so white, others dyed red.
"What’s the deal with these Papern? Why are they hanging in the trees?"
"Who knows, the people of Taoyuan Village... always so secretive. One day, I’ll kill them all."
The deford old man seed to have a deep loathing for the original inhabitants of Taoyuan Village.
Wang Hao then said, "I can help you fetch water, but I want to see the murals inside. The temple has many murals; I want to take a look."
"What’s going on? Has your brain gone mad, kid? You’re still bargaining even when death is near, wanting to look at murals. Have you lost your mind, becoming brain-damaged at such a young age? Such a pity, really a sin, pulling you in from outside."
The deford old man was utterly baffled; in all his years, he had never seen a child willingly walk into a trap, insisting on seeing paintings at the brink of death.
Yet the guy’s eyes were shifty, not like those of a brain-dead person.
Wang Hao coaxed, "Don’t you want to figure out the reason? Whatever Taoyuan Village people did, don’t you want to know? What if the murals depict another way to obtain well water?"
"That makes sense too!" The deford old man seed a bit slow.
At this point, he had no sympathy left, just wanting to chatter on, continuously talking.
Having soone to talk to made him feel a bit better: "Alright, if you want to see, then see; it won’t take too much ti."
"I, old man, have never cared about those murals!"
He began to mutter manically, "Are you insane, kid... What’s so great about murals... If we don’t find anything, wouldn’t it be a waste of ti..."
This made Wang Hao’s scalp tingle, yet he didn’t dare to shut off the sound and had to endure forcefully.
"Damn, an idiotic chatterbox! Next reincarnation, I’ll find a way to get rid of you!"
Soon, the splendid temple ca into view.
From afar, a murky fog could be seen surrounding the temple.
"Those people exerted a lot of effort to suppress that tree, wanting to ritualize their spirit God."
The old man mocked, "They didn’t expect the offering to escape... Heh, heh heh, lucky ."
"I’m giving myself up to feed you, seeing as you look pitiful. May you live a few more years, old man," said Wang Hao. "Now let have a look at the murals, quickly."
"You’re really a living Buddha, a ’Bodhisattva’ in life. In Buddha’s tis, he never saw a brain-damaged child spirit like you. What’s really going on?" Surprisingly, the old man kept his promise and began showing him the nearby murals.
The first four images had already been viewed.
But this ti, viewing them up close allowed for a more detailed and intricate discernnt of their contents.
The first mural depicted the ancestors of Taoyuan Village discovering this mystical world.
By that ti, the well already existed, and so did the outside ocean, but it wasn’t red—it was a transparent, azure blue.
"Old man, was the sea transparent before?"
"How would I know? That was many years ago."
The second mural showed Taoyuan Village’s ancestors discovering the mystery of the well, drinking its water allowed one to beco smarter!
It could even facilitate soul out-of-body experiences.
They started making Papern, seemingly trying to abandon their physical bodies and only leave their souls behind, becoming true Eternals.
The third mural, under the guidance of so mystical power, depicted them placing the crafted Papern into the sea, believing this would help them reach Heaven across the ocean and achieve true eternal life.
"Old man, are you thinking of jumping into the sea like those Taoyuan Village people, to reach Nirvana across the shore?"
"What’s going on, I don’t know either! Why does everyone want to jump into the sea? Even Taoyuan Village people?"
The deford old man was also engrossedly studying the murals, still endlessly muttering, "But Li Xianfeng said, jumping into the sea ans death; there is no Nirvana."
