(Amaia)
Speaking to Jamina has left drained. Why would the Moon goddess throw between two people who have been together their whole lives?
The Twins have their Moonball practice and Rigel is gone for the night, hunting. He needed fresh blood and he refused to drink from .
"Amaia, there is sothing I want to discuss with you," Kacir slowly says.
I haven’t told him what had happened between Alnilam, Jamina, and . There is no need to burden him with all of my sses.
"Of course!" I smile at him, clutching the pillow to my chest.
He sheepishly smiles at , rubbing the back of his head.
"Rahria wants to shift in the room with her..."
Kacir will never bring this up if his heart is not into it. Both of them have gotten very close as they should. The mate bond is finally weaving its magic.
"Go, be with her. You don’t need my permission. Twins already occupy this room more than you now," I let out a small laugh and his smile widens.
Leaning in, he hugs tight. "You are the best. Thank you." I return his embrace.
"Tomorrow I will shift my stuff but that doesn’t an I will let anyone else occupy my position as your best friend. That will always be ." He lets go and straightens.
"Gottcha!" I point at him with my index finger and thumb arched at right angles.
"Good night, I will see you tomorrow." Kacir takes his leave, closing the door behind him.
Dragging my body down, I lie on the bed and stare at the ceiling. Shuffling of the feathers announces the arrival of Zille. He flies straight towards and lands on my chest, transforming.
My breath is knocked out of my chest when he transforms into Saiph.
His naked body hovers over , dark but affection-filled eyes watch . Only my face is reflected in them.
A blush creeps up in my cheeks, heating them. I am never going to get used to him transforming over .
"Hey!" I say in a hoarse voice. Lifting my hand, I place it on his rugged face.
"Did I startle you?" He questions, tilting his head so my palm will occupy more of his skin.
"A bit. This is all new to ."
Saiph lets a small smile decorate his lips. "You will get used to it." Slowly he presses his warrior chest on mine, squishing my back into the bed. Our lips connect and every thought disappears from my brain, leaving only him and the feeling of his body and lips.
My hands shift to his hardened, sinewy back and I pull him into myself, letting our bodies connect.
Man, he is heavy. Although he is still not putting all his weight on , I feel like I am being crushed under a mountain.
"Ah!" I whimper into his mouth and Saiph lifts himself off .
"Sorry, I know I am heavy for you."
Holding his face, I murmur, "You are perfect."
He tilts his head again, the expressions he holds are reserved only for . For others, he usually just grunts or offers profanities.
"How are you doing, Amaia? I can feel your sadness through the bond."
"I am trying not to think about Alnilam, but my mind refuses to obey. It’s like drowning even though you know how to swim." Dejection coats my words and I don’t know how to let Alnilam go.
"That’s because you are alone and thinking. Do you want to go out with ?" I had requested him to take for a ride and this seems like the appropriate ti. Fresh air will do good.
"Can we go on your bike?" I ask, a little too enthusiastically, like a child, asking for a lollipop.
His controlled smile widens at my request. There is a tiny smirk I can detect.
"Why not?" He lifts himself off my body, giving a full show of his herculean shoulders and battle-perfected chest. Saiph is truly a marvel to be ogled at.
"Get ready and et in the parking area where my motorbike is parked. Wear pants and a jacket," he gives instructions and stands up.
For a few monts, we stare at each other, two souls connected through this bond we don’t even understand. I don’t even know how this will work but I never want to let him go.
With a smile, which he only offers , Saiph transforms into Zille and flies away through the window.
A thrill runs through , and I leave my bed and approach my cupboard to retrieve proper attire for a bike ride.
Getting ready, I slip my dagger into my boots, just in case.
Quietly, I slip out of my room and head down to where we had gotten our bikes last ti.
The wind is crisp today, so I cover my head with the jacket’s hood and bury my hands in my pockets.
Sentinels guarding the area stop . We are not supposed to be out of bed late at night, unless we have a permission slip or have ga practice.
"She is with ," Saiph’s authoritative voice has them turning and stepping back.
He cos into view, walking with the grace of a formidable warrior.
I blink and then openly stare.
Dressed in a midnight blue leather jacket, whose surface has a matte sheen at the shoulders and elbows. Contrasted with black leather riding pants that are snug and practical, tucked into heavy, scuffed black boots. The jacket’s zippers and snaps are blackened steel while his hands are adorned with black and silver studded glovelettes.
The overall effect Saiph gives is one of layered shadow and deep ocean. He is like an ocean whose depths I am completely unaware of. Saiph holds mysteries and I haven’t even scratched the surface.
"Co." He ushers with his hand and I follow him to his bike.
Glistening under the pale moonlight, it’s a beauty and I can’t wait to ride on it. Two helts and a pair of leather gloves rest on it, waiting for us.
I glide my fingers along the tallic body, feeling it.
"I love your bike." A huge grin covers Saiph’s face, I have never seen him smile like that.
" too."
Saiph picks up the smaller helt and turns towards .
"Ready?" I give him a nod of excitent and he brings the helt down on my head. Fastening and securing it.
My eyes watch him as his forehead ripples with concentration lines. There is a similarity in him which I can’t place. A calmness and protectiveness too which has seeped into from the mont he had saved my life.
"Done." Saiph takes a step back and picks up the leather gloves.
I hold out my hands and effortlessly he slips them on my hands.
Picking up his helt, he puts it on and offers his hand. I place mine in his and he helps mount the bike. The feeling from the bike is cold but once Saiph mounts it too, my arms automatically go around him, holding onto him.
He starts the bike, giving it a little rev, and it roars to life.
"Let’s go."
