(Alnilam)

Returning to my room I am still thinking about the night’s strange events.

Have we been appointed as Amaia’s guardians by so celestial power?

I can’t wrap my head around what happened.

"Told you she is special," Snow smugly declares.

The smug bastard.

I take off my uniform and am about to put on my nightshirt when I hear a small knock on the door. It has to be Jamina, only she cos to my room at night.

Irrespective of how many tis I tell her, she can enter without knocking, she always does.

Only wearing my sweats, I move along and open the door. To my surprise, I find an apologetic-looking Mintaka and an extrely furious Amaia standing there.

Her pupils dilate seeing , and her fluffed cheeks, which already appear like soft cotton balls, tint the brightest pink when her gaze unapologetically moves from my face to my torso and stays there.

She is ogling...her mouth slowly opens but no sound cos out. Her heartbeat becos agitated.

Thud

Thud

"She is watching us," Snow howls. My magic begins to swing my hair and I hope they don’t make a scene in front of Mintaka. He is volatile with his newly forged bond and overprotective of hers.

"Yes!" I ask, trying to keep my voice steady–placing my hand on the half-opened door.

We just had a prophecy about her and now she is here, wearing her comfy night suit and fluffy slippers.

She is a sight and I want to keep staring.

"Em–Amaia wanted to ask sothing?" Mintaka apologetically says. "She also has to tell you sothing."

My gaze remains fixed on her as the blush on her cheeks keeps deepening but she doesn’t look away.

"Of course. There was sothing I needed to discuss with you as well," I say, keeping my eyes fixed on her.

"She is all yours. I have no hand in any of that. I am just a ssenger delivering her." Mintaka raises his hands and Amaia throws him a dirty look.

"Really?"

He shrugs his shoulders. "You insisted on coming. I have no desire to face his wrath in the middle of the night. So, can I be excused?" His apologetic eyes roam from her to .

I want to have a private word with Amaia so I nod at Mintaka.

"Sure, I will drop Amaia back to her room. Go, get so sleep." It has been more than 24 hours since any of us has slept.

"Good luck!" He whispers to Amaia before running off.

She sighs and turns her head to face . Two tiny wrinkles rest between her brows.

"Would you like to co in?" It would be easier to speak with her instead of awkwardly standing in my doorway.

"Yeah!" She says, finally stealing her gaze away. Her chaotic heartbeat is not calming down.

I step aside so she can enter like the tiny whirlwind that she is.

Walking past , she steps inside my room and her curious eyes roam around. She snatches in a deep breath as if taking in the slls.

Closing the door behind , I move towards one of the single sofas. Amaia familiarises herself with my room, taking in details.

"Have a seat," I offer her the sofa but she keeps standing and turns around to face .

More ripples have ford on her forehead. Her hair is open, scattered all around, framing her oval face, which appears rather angered.

"How cute!!! Her breasts must be soft too. I wonder how they will feel." Snow purrs in my head, almost having a nosebleed.

"Shut up!" He wouldn’t stop putting these lewd images and thoughts in my head.

"Did you perform the Blood Oath?" She asks, annoyed.

Damnit! So that’s why Mintaka was quick to scoot. They couldn’t keep a secret for five minutes.

"Yes!" I answer calmly. No point in lying to her, now that the cat was out of the bag.

"Why? You jeopardised the lives of my mates and told them to lie to ?" Her lips thin out, and annoyance mars her expression. Her arms close over her chest.

"I ensured your secret remains safe. I simply don’t trust everyone involved," I simply tell her the truth. I just hope my stupid brothers didn’t tell her about the prophecy.

"You an Ezran and Saiph. You don’t trust them?"

"Yes, I hardly know Ezran. Saiph is loyal to my mother. I did what I had to do."

My magic is becoming utterly restless.

"I trust them. You always act so upright and yet you went behind my back..." She glares at .

"Why don’t you kiss her, she will grow quiet." Snow swoons in my head.

And my eyes dip to her tender lips, wrong move. Desires uncoil inside and I have to practice every restraint known to to hold myself back.

I cross my arms over my chest so my hands won’t seek her out and do sothing regretful.

"If you want to apologise for my actions. That’s not going to happen."

My magic chose that exact mont to propel my hair forward. Like silvery ribbons, they fly and gather around the chain of her necklace and fling it over her head—removing it. One of my locks brings it closer to , dropping it on my chest. I have to catch it before it stumbles to the ground.

Just perfect!

Amaia’s appearance promptly changes, revealing her true self. I can never get tired of watching her transformation. How her hair always elongates and its hues dull out. And those eyes, she possesses like two vortexes pulling .

"Your hair loves to see like that, don’t they?" She asks, her hand resting on my locks that are still coiled around her neck, reaching for her back.

Small fluttering sounds, my ears pick up like the flapping of wings. Snow’s ears perk up at the sound too.

Still confused, I am trying to assess the situation. To both of our horrors, my wild unstoppable hair slithers under her shirt.

Amaia tries to stop them. A small shriek gurgles from her throat in panic.

I try to reel them in with everything I have, but they lift her shirt, flashing her breasts.

"No, stop." I ferociously pull them but they are glued to her waist. Turning her around they expose her back to .

And there I see them, tiny, flimsy, the most beautiful wings I have ever seen, sticking out of her shoulder blades. Rapidly changing colours like they can feel and sense .

"Wow!" I can’t help but exclaim.

srised, I reach out to touch them as if under her spell.
