Yarin's POV:

As I thought further, it seed like I had heard sothing. So tabloid newspapers liked to attack and sensationalize things to grab attention, and the royal family was naturally not exempt from their reach.

Sotis, I could overhear people discussing gossip from those papers, but to say that there were any malicious comnts, it seed very few and far between.

I shook my head, and Mom said, "So, that's the reality, dear. We aren't universally liked; it's impossible for everyone in the world to approve of us. But comparatively, since we've fulfilled our responsibilities and continue to pave the way for the future of the Lycan pack, our actions are seen by the people. They won't hate us as they would an enemy."

"I understand what you're thinking, child. You're afraid the royal family will lose public favor, afraid that we'll commit so heinous act that the people will overthrow us for. But in reality, haven't we done anything wrong? Those who want to tarnish us can only focus on minor details to create doubts, right?

"And another fact is-we're not as important as we think we are, at least not in the lives of the people.

"We live in a splendid palace, stand on lofty stages, and wield power over this nation. It looks impressive, but so what? We're distant from the lives of the people, they care about us, but not constantly.

"We're portraits in classrooms, orators at moonlit celebrations, signatures on official docunts, symbols, shadows. To the people, that's what we are, and nothing more.

"As for suspicions, I have to say, ever since the first Lycan King was born in this world, suspicions have probably been born alongside. The Lycan pack is composed of countless individuals. Externally, we're one entity, but internally, we're not bees. We aren't governed by a single mindset.

"There will always be dissatisfied people, those who dislike you, and those who fantasize about taking your place. It sounds intimidating, but just like how there's dust in the air, most of it won't cause any actual harm. We can't pick out every speck of dust from the air."

I started to understand what my mother ant and asked sowhat bewilderedly, "So, should we just turn a blind eye to all of this?"

"For the most part, you can turn a blind eye," she answered and also addressed Heller and Cynthia. "But there are a few things that still require so attention, like the Cyril Family. Your conjecture is probably close to the truth, dear."

Dad chid in at this point, "It seems you've been too kind for too long, to the point where so people think you're easy to deal with and use your authority to their advantage."

Just as I knew, the Cyril Family was of no significance among the nobles and officials. Aside from the war hero who was already advanced in age, there were no accomplished descendants in that family.

Perhaps that was why they ca up with this crooked idea-to exploit the Queen's power to deceive others and not just the nobles but also the commoners.

"Have Benson send soone to investigate this family, see how much 'good' they've done behind my back," Mom said coolly.

Even though I knew I was overly worried, this still sounded a warning bell for . In the future, Heller and I would have to be cautious with our words and actions at school, just in case those seemingly harmless comnts turned into sothing more substantial.

At tis like this, I sowhat envied the anonymity Mom had enjoyed when she attended school in her youth. How joyful it must have been to interact with friends without any barriers!

I took a day off because I hadn't really rested well due to last night's commotion. The Charlies Family's mansion was quiet today. The people in the front rooms were considerate enough to pretend they didn't exist. It wasn't until noon that the sound of people caused a stir in the normally serene back rooms.

In a long nightgown, Cynthia was sitting at the dining table, having lunch. Lady Charlies was accompanying her. Lady Charlies was supposed to go to school today to talk to Ms. Maggie about Eden's situation, but it was postponed due to the guests at ho.

She was the first to notice my groggy appearance and greeted with a smile, "Good afternoon, Yarin. Did you sleep well?"

"I'm fine, Aunt Teresa's sachet was quite effective."

Sitting at the table, a servant brought a bowl of creamy truffle porridge. The table was laid out with many delicious dishes, and it looked like they hadn't been touched much.

"Have Grandpa and Grandma and Grandfather not woken up yet?" I asked.

"Duke Franklin woke up early. I heard that the Queen and King Consort returned to the palace overnight, and he went back as well. The two elderly monarchs did too, but they said they wouldn't head straight to the palace; they want to visit the place where you study."

"Sivir Academy?"

"Yes, that place was originally the first investnt by the forr king. He spent many years in seclusion and hasn't seen how Sivir Academy's developnt has progressed for a long ti."

If we were talking about infrastructure, there was no doubt Sivir Academy ranks at the top throughout the Lycan pack. How much gold and silver was poured into it each year! However, if we were discussing other aspects, Sivir Academy was undoubtedly good too, though it still couldn't avoid having individuals like Kris.

Perhaps, as Mom said, just like how there was always dust in the air, there were always going to be blemishes.
