Yarin's POV:

The last ti the priest received a decree from the goddess was ten years ago. Back then, Azazel had used the power of the Evaria Family to invade her land.

However, from then on, the goddess began to say nothing. Historically, priestesses who did not receive the goddess's oracle were usually expelled because they had done sothing wrong that angered the goddess.

However, although the current priestess had no faults, she was still considered conscientious. She had stayed in the position of priestess for so many years, which ant that she had obtained the recognition of the goddess and could not be rejected.

"When I realized that I hadn't received any oracle from the goddess for five years, I was terrified and imdiately reflected on how I had angered the goddess."

The elderly priestess said faintly, "But the goddess never issued a decree to reprimand . I thought that this was the goddess giving a chance to change, so I communicated with her more piously and begged for her forgiveness. However, another five years had passed. For ten years, the goddess had still not said a word nor given any punishnt. This gradually made realize that the root of the problem did not co from .

"As a priestess, I should always offer the goddess my heartfelt humility and faith, but as one of the goddess's millions of people, I have to worry about this."

The priestess gently patted my mom's hand and said earnestly, "Even in the past, when oracles were rare, the goddess had never gone ten years without a word. To be honest, I... I'm very worried. However, even as a priestess, I am only a mortal. Unless I die, I cannot go to the Moonlight Garden. I can't find out about the goddess, but I think you might be able to, Your Majesty."

"?" My mother was a little surprised.

"Yes, you. As the daughter of the goddess, I believe you have a closer connection with the goddess than anyone else. Please don't be surprised how I know. On the day the demon descended, as the goddess' ssenger, the goddess told this secret. And I will protect it for the rest of my life, for the goddess, for you."

Not many people knew about my mom's past life. Even though Azazel had personally admitted his relationship with my mom, everyone was far away from them then, and they had to focus on fighting the living dead, so this was still a secret that only a few people knew.

My mom quickly cald down after her initial surprise. She believed in the loyalty of an old woman who had served the goddess all her life.

"But I didn't know what to do. The goddess occasionally gave so advice when I was young, but as I grew older, this kind of advice disappeared."

"The goddess has given you the evidence that you have a close relationship with her. As for the fact that you won't be able to see her again, don't worry. I will help you and tell you how to knock on the door of the Moon Palace."

"But communicating with the goddess has always been the exclusive power of priestesses." Of course, it was impossible for royal power and theocracy to not interfere with each other from the beginning. In the long history, the werewolves were no different from other races. There were also tis when they fought to the death for power.

In the end, the theocracy gradually declined without a doubt. After losing the right to rule, the power to communicate with the gods was their last source of confidence.

The royal family and the temple maintained this tacit understanding for hundreds of years. The royal family managed the living werewolves, and the temple served the goddess. This balance had always been very satisfactory to both sides.

But now, the priestess took the initiative to ntion that she wanted to give my mom the temple's control card. This was not sothing as simple as teaching her. Losing the last pillar of support, the temple's status would be even more dispensable. This might not be all good for the royal family.

It was impossible for the temple to be an iron wall. There were those who were selfless, like the old priestess, but there were also those who were not so devout and loyal. They might not want to see the temple fall faster.

Especially at such a sensitive ti when the connection with the goddess was almost non- existent, the internal staff of the temple had a natural advantage, and it was easy to cause trouble for the royal family.

The goddess was a sacred and inviolable existence in the heart of any werewolf. If the news that the goddess had not descended for ten years in a row was leaked, and if people with ill intentions spread the news that the royal family had angered the goddess or that the queen was disrespectful to the goddess, the royal family would almost imdiately be caught in a storm of public gossip, and it would be difficult to prove their innocence. After all, you could not call the goddess to clarify!

Therefore, my mom was a little hesitant when faced with the priestess' invitation.

But this hesitation didn't last long. When my mom saw , the hesitation on her face imdiately disappeared without a trace.

"Thank you for your generosity, Venerable One." She thanked the priestess firmly and sincerely. "As a mother, I will give up everything for my child. I will never forget your selfless help. May the royal family and the temple be on good terms forever."

The old priestess only smiled at this, then stood up and said, "Please follow . The prayer room has been silent for a long ti, since ten years ago. May the moonlight shine on the empty hall tonight."
