Lily's POV:
The man opposite kept staring at . He was staring straight at , but surprisingly, he wasn't annoying. There was no cruelty, evil, or lewdness in his eyes, only pure curiosity. It was as if I was a novel math problem. He didn't know the answer but was curious about my theory.
I was firmly tied to the chair. The rope was mixed with silver, and my burning skin began to fester. Other than that, the Lily of the Valley didn't give any other restrictions. I could see, speak, and hear. This was why I recognized this man when I heard him say the first sentence.
I was still a little flustered at the ti. I asked, "Are you the kidnapper from the shopping mall?"
He smiled and bowed like a gentleman. "Thank you for rembering , miss. I hope my gift is satisfactory."
I said coldly, "You're welco. You're such a bastard."
He didn't care what I said and introduced himself. "My na is Karter. You already know I'm from the Lily of the Valley. My job is not to plan a terrorist attack. That's too troubleso. I don't like it. However, the person who was originally in charge of this was locked up by you because he was involved in the smuggling case. I was dealing with so matters at the Silver Moon Pack, so I could only take over at the last minute.
"Please forgive for being a little rude. Ti waits for no one, so I had no choice but to use so more efficient thods. Don't worry. I've already left a ssage for your companions. They'll co to save you by tomorrow morning at the latest. You should be safe."
"What is your purpose? I don't think I have any special value worth the effort of the Lily of the Valley to kidnap ." I looked at him coldly. That hypocritical smile made want to punch him in the face.
Karter brought a stool over and sat opposite . He crossed his hands on his knees and said, "Please don't belittle yourself, Ms. Silvermoon. You are the heir of the Silver Moon Pack and the Balotte Family. You are born with nobility and power. From this point of view, any kidnapper would be tempted by the huge ransom."
I didn't believe a single word he said. "Since you could plant so many spies in the Lily of the Valley and monitor it for so many years, you should know that my mother has never officially acknowledged my identity. My father even pretended to forget that I existed. If you kidnap , you won't get anything. Instead, you'll help them deal with a big problem they don't know how to solve."
Kate chuckled. "What does it matter?" I'll give it a try."
"Stop acting dumb. You didn't kidnap for ." I interrupted him impatiently. "No matter your purpose, I can only tell you I will never cooperate with you, and you will get nothing."
Karter stopped laughing after hearing what I said. The hypocritical expression on his face faded, and his young, immature face even revealed a kind of emptiness that gave people goosebumps.
Although he was expressionless, his voice was as sweet as ever.
"You don't have to cooperate with , Miss. Having you here is enough."
He picked up a flower on the table. The white and small bell-like flower trembled slightly.
It was the lily of the valley.
"Now, we have to go where we need to go."
"To the Lily of the Valley's headquarters?"
"No," he said. "This is it. We're not leaving."
His contradictory words made frown in confusion. In the next second, I only felt a blur in front of my eyes, and nothing seed to have happened. This was still the spacious office on the top floor. It was still dark outside the window. Even the crack on the leg of the chair under Karter's butt hadn't changed.
But when I looked around, I found things were different from what I thought.
Many people suddenly appeared in the corner of the office. There were werewolves and humans. They looked exhausted and terrified. Their hands and feet were bound, and so were even injured.
I saw a familiar face among them. She was in charge of the werewolf affairs at the broadcast station. On the night we returned from Border City, she was the one who received and the royal brothers.
Without a doubt, these people had beco the captives of the Lily of the Valley.
"You don't want to hurt them," I growled at Karter. "If they lost even a fingernail, the werewolves would still co after the Lily of the Valley."
Karter walked to the window and looked at the night sky. He said coldly, "Unfortunately, I'm afraid we're already at the end of the line with you."
I was stunned for a few seconds. Then, I suddenly looked at the person in charge of the exchange station, who was tied up tightly. She looked at in despair and sorrow, moved to the side, and revealed sothing behind her back.
It was a dead body. It was wearing a work uniform with the Silver Moon Pack emblem. Its face was pale, and its expression was condensed from the most terrified mont when it was
alive.
"That is a small price to pay for our arrival." Karter's voice suddenly sounded in my ear. He had appeared behind at so point. "But this is only the beginning. If your reinforcents want to save you and the others, they must co here.
"Let's guess who will be the price for their death?"
It was dawn.
I spent an exhausting night here. Karter didn't stay here all the ti. Occasionally, he would leave, and occasionally, other people would co in.
