Rosina had sent the letter to the Midnight pack two days ago, and they were waiting for their reply. This made Rosina excited that she would et Felissa again.
"This is good," Rosina said after tasting the fresh milk the servant had taken from the cows.
"La-lady, are you sure you wanted to stay here?" Sal panicked when they heard that Rosina had gone to the kitchen unannounced.
The servants were also looking at her as they stood in line nervously. After all, it was the first ti Rosina ca out of her room after spending her ti alone.
Pondi Canali, the head Chef, stepped in front with a timid smile. "Lady Rosina, it’s a pleasure to have you here. Do you have any request for us to make?"
"Ah yes, I’m actually craving so milk cookies. Could you make one for ?" Rosina stated and sat on one of the stools.
"Lady, this place is quite busy and not tidied up. Your clothes might get dirtied," Fina stated and lifted Rosina’s skirt that touched the floor.
"Do I look like I care if I get dirtied or not, Miss Fina?" Rosina stated nonchalantly and gave her a smile. Deep inside, Rosina wanted to strangle her neck for saying what she could and couldn’t do.
Fina pursed her lips and dropped Rosina’s cloth before standing next to Sal. All of them beca silent as they were afraid of Rosina, especially since most servants knew about her involvent in the several dead bodies in Draco’s personal tree garden.
Rosina looked back at Pondi. She smiled widely at him to lessen the intense pressure inside the kitchen. "Could you make so milk cookies, Chef Pondi?"
"Yes, of course," Pondi stated and gestured to the other servants to start working. They were all anxious that Rosina was overlooking their job.
"Fina, Sal. You two can go back to your own work. Co to if there are important matters that need my attention," Rosina stated and relaxed on the stool while drinking the fresh milk. She thought she would be enjoying her day when the door burst open, Ferro entered the kitchen, and his eyes t Rosina.
"Lady Rosina, soone wanted to see you," Ferro stated and handed Rosina a letter. "It’s from the daughter of Alpha Palmiotto of Nightwalker pack."
Rosina stared at the letter. She didn’t know who that person was or if she had t her before. "When will she co?"
"She’s outside the residence, Lady Rosina," Ferro said with a dissatisfied voice. The servants around pursed their lips to avoid making any sounds to make their presence unknown, especially since the atmosphere beca more gloomy.
"What did you say?" Rosina stood up as her blood pressure started to rise.
"Lady lania Palmiotto’s carriage is outside the residence. Waiting for your acceptance," Ferro repeated calmly, trying not to annoy Rosina further.
"I see, then let her wait. It’s inappropriate to visit on the sa day you arrived," Rosina stated and looked at Fina, which she imdiately understood and rushed toward her room to prepare a decent gown to wear.
"Chef, could you serve the milk cookies on the garden table. Seems like we have an unexpected guest," Rosina stated with a smile, but her voice was sharp. It was evident that she was pissed.
"Yes, Lady Rosina," Pondi stated and rushed his workers to operate faster.
"You do the rest, Ferro. I need to freshen up," Rosina stated, walking past him and going to her room.
"Who is that b*tch?" Rosina muttered before opening her room door and saw Fina placing a pink dress on the bed.
"Lady, I have prepared your clothes," Fina stated, wiping the sweat from her forehead.
"Thank you, but could you pick the other black gown hanging at the end of the closet?" Rosina stated with a forced smile.
"B-black?" Fina was confused and baffled at the choice of color while greeting a guest, but she didn’t question Rosina’s choice and only followed her.
The black gown had bell sleeves attached to an off-shoulder neckline. The chiffon cloth blended nicely with the silk skirt that ended at Rosina’s feet. Rosina paired it with red lipstick and let her hair down.
Fina and Sal were shocked by the attire choice but couldn’t complain. They followed Rosina as she descended the stairs and walked toward the garden where Lady lania and Ferro were located.
Rosina sucked it up and forced a smile on her face before approaching them. lania stood up as they curtsied at one another.
"Lady Rosina Greco, I apologize for visiting without notice," lania stated softly. She was wearing a red gown and make-up that looked too much on her overall appearance.
"Yes, Lady lania," Rosina stated and sat on the chair, followed by lania. Both of them looked at each other’s appearance, and Rosina could see the light twitching at lania’s expression upon seeing her attire. "Is there sothing you need that required urgent matters, Lady lania?"
"Ah, I decided to visit the third Prince’s residence upon hearing that he had finally gotten himself a mate," lania stated as her eyes squinted with a knowing look.
Rosina plastered the most innocent and sweetest smile, but she knew lania was trying to trigger her emotions, which she found amusing.
"I see. Seems like you are friends with my fiance," Rosina giggled and glided her hand, which wore the engagent ring across her ears.
It didn’t take long before a Pondi arrived, with a servant pushing a cart that contained tea, hot milk, and milk cookies that Rosina requested. After they were served, they left the area in a hurry.
lania forced a smile as her eyes stared at the massive gem in Rosina’s hand. "He’s a lucky man. I rember when we used to talk in our younger days. You see, the royal family and the upper-class packs tend to have small parties together to bond."
Rosina nodded her head. "That’s great then," she tried to keep positive even though she started to get pissed a little.
"Yes, Prince Draco and I used to play a lot," lania smirked. She wanted to see how Rosina would handle the words she was saying and if she reacted negatively. She would use it against her to try and convince Draco to leave Rosina.
"Childhood friends, how delightful," Rosina comnted as she took her hot cup of milk and took a sip. "I heard a lot that my fiance tends to play with the ladies and drop them after he’s done."
lania’s smile was sanked, but she hurriedly returned the fake demure. "The Crown Prince and I are friends as well. It was fun back then. I wonder why I didn’t see you before? Oh wait, you’re from a lower-class pack... I an, the lowest pack in the Werewolf realm."
Rosina chuckled with amusent at how lania tried to hurt her pride, but it wasn’t effective since she didn’t care about statuses, power, or ranks. Although, Rosina didn’t want soone like lania to step on her.
"Hmm, indeed. I’m from the 12th pack rank. You’re a daughter of Alpha Palmiotto of Nightwalker pack, the 3rd in line, but I wonder how you didn’t get the Crown Prince’s attention. As you stated that you two bonded since childhood. What went wrong, Lady lania?" Rosina said nonchalantly. She rembered the gossip that Sal shared back in the Mating event.
"What!?" lania lost her calmness and slamd her hand aggressively on the table as she stood up. Her action caused the attention of the nearby servants working in the garden. Her eyes divert to Ferro, who was standing a few ters away from them.
lania cleared her throat twice before sitting back on the chair. She put on her best, most adorable face even though she wanted to throw the hot tea in Rosina’s face.
"I don’t know where you get that information, Lady Rosina, but the Crown Prince and I are discussing our possible future as the next ruler of this realm. So whoever you heard such gossips are false," lania stated firmly and sipped her tea to calm herself.
"I see. That’s great to hear. I hope you will do your best as a Crown Princess," Rosina stated sweetly while grabbing the milk cookies she wanted to eat badly.
"Thank you. I expect full support and cooperation from you since we’ll beco a family, sooner or later," lania stated with a fake smile before standing up as an action that her visit had ended. "I appreciate the tea, Lady Rosina, but I must hurry back ho."
Rosina stood up. "Then Sir Ferro will assist you for your departure."
They both curtsied at one another before lania strutted out of the residence with Ferro. Rosina could feel lania’s annoyance and irritation seeping out of her pores.
"Pathetic," Rosina muttered and sat back on the chair as she enjoyed the milk cookies dipped in hot milk. "Ah, I should have asked for chocolate milk instead."
