On the day Lucia vanished before Gastone. He waited in the forest for an hour, ensuring she wouldn’t accidentally return.
"Ah, I guess... this is it," Gastone muttered to himself before returning to his house. Navin and Jorge were waiting for him with a tight smile.
"My Lord, welco back," the two greeted softly. They were concerned about Gastone’s reaction, knowing his mate was gone.
Gastone gave them a nod before entering the house and locked the doors. He wanted to be alone and not talk to anybody. Even though he had plans after Lucia was gone, he had no energy to do it.
Gastone spent two days in the house, sulking alone. That made Navin and Jorge concerned since they hadn’t seen his shadow for days.
"Should we force ourselves inside?" Navin whispered to Jorge after knocking multiple tis, but no reply.
"Do you want to be punished?" Jorge shook his head in disbelief.
"What should we do if Lord Gastone seclude himself further?" Navin asked and pouted.
"That will be his decision, and we have no say in it," Jorge sighed, grabbing Navin’s collar and pulling her back.
On the other hand, Gastone was staring at the ceiling with mories of Lucia playing in his mind.
"I wonder... what she’s doing now..." Gastone whispered and sighed. He rolled to the side and watched the sun by his window.
Yearning washed over Gastone, and felt his wolf howling in pain. They wanted to see Lucia again and didn’t know they were that attached the mont she was gone.
"Ugh! I should stop being pathetic," Gastone sat up and scratched his head in annoyance. His eyes glanced at the door connecting to Lucia’s room. He stood up and went there.
Gastone was greeted with Lucia’s remaining scent that lingered on the sheets. He couldn’t help but lay on her bed and feel the softness of the mattress.
"Lucia," Gastone whispered and gripped the sheets, burying his face on the pillows. Lucia’s scent reminded him of her smile.
With one last whiff, Gastone left the room and remained untouched as his rembrance of her. He packed up his essential stuff and went out.
Navin and Jorge were arguing when Gastone t them.
"My Lord!" Navin yelped with happy tears. He rushed toward Gastone and looked around for any possibility of self-harm.
"What are you doing?" Gastone asked in curiosity. He raised an eyebrow and stepped back from Navin.
"I’m just checking that you’re alright," Navin replied while wiping his eyes. He sighed in relief that Gastone looked fine.
"My Lord, where do you plan on going?" Jorge asked upon seeing the bag Gastone was holding.
"I plan to visit the Palace," Gastone replied and sat on one of the chairs.
"Oh!" Navin exclaid, nodding aggressively.
"I’ll prepare the horses," Jorge inford before going away.
"Are you leaving today, My Lord?" Navin asked while tilting his head.
Gastone frowned. "Yes, I am," he replied and showed his bag.
"Okay! I’ll prepare!" Navin exclaid and went to his room to pack up. He was excited to visit the Palace grounds and mingle with his other friends.
As Gastone was left alone. He was glad Navin pissed him off a bit since it diverted his attention away from Lucia.
It didn’t take long before Jorge arrived with three horses in hand. He looked around, and Navin left the house carrying big bags.
"Did you get all your things?" Jorge asked in confusion.
"I an, aren’t you returning to the Palace, Lord Gastone?" Navin asked awkwardly.
"My decision will lie upon arriving there," Gastone replied and stood up, going to his horse and fixing his things.
Jorge nodded in understanding and packed several items as well.
After a few minutes, they prepared to leave. It took them several hours of nonstop travelling since Gastone wanted to hurry.
Upon entering the central city of Sabrecrown, Gastone covered his entire appearance with a cloak and hood. He didn’t want to be recognized and brought trouble to himself.
At the sa ti, Navin and Jorge looked at one another after noticing the little actions Gastone had done. They had expected before guarding the fallen Prince that he would do everything in his power to disrupt the peace the Pack had attained.
After all, Gastone was stripped of power.
The two knights didn’t expect Gastone to remain his identity hidden from the public and wanted to live in peace instead.
The Sabrecrown’s city now strove far greater than in the past. The old buildings were slowly getting repaired in a new, sturdy material.
Before, the city was divided between a noble and a commoner city, but that was changed by Rosina and combined the area.
That brought more possibilities for both sides to grow. Although, so were against it.
After all, many wolves died during the great incursion of the Pack.
The other wolves from lesser territories migrated to Sabrecrown, hoping to use the opportunity to change Packs.
Gastone couldn’t help but smile. He approved of the improvent on the Pack.
"Hey, you two want to explore the city later?" Gastone glanced at the two knights, who were in utter shock at his question.
Navin pushed his horse closer to Gastone. "You want to hang out!?" he exclaid.
"If you want to. I don’t mind," Gastone replied with a frown. He found their reaction weird since he only asked a simple one.
"I’ll go. I know so great places," Jorge replied and pulled Navin backwards and settled at his own place.
"I can show you a nice spot for drinks!" Navin exclaid in excitent. For him, Gastone needed to drink his own feelings of losing a mate.
"Alright," Gastone nodded. He was glad to have a companion.
Arriving at the Palace gate. The knights moved closer to them, stopping for inspection.
Navin and Jorge drive forward and explain to the guards about Gastone’s identity as a guest, not a previous Crown Prince. They beca tensed but let them through.
Draco was imdiately notified through mind-link about Gastone’s arrival, including several knights. That caused a few to stand on guard in case sothing happened.
Gastone was aware of his surroundings but shrugged it off. He knew they would never do him harm since he was a guest of the King.
He made sure that not a single spot of his skin was shown.
Gastone hopped down from his horse and was sent to the waiting area. He sat down, and the other knights looked at him in curiosity. He was like that mold to the bread based on his attire.
Navin and Jorge accompanied Gastone but remained a distance between them.
It didn’t take long before Draco was seen walking hastily toward Gastone. He had a scowl on his face.
"Leave," Draco commanded and gestured toward his knights, who followed imdiately.
Navin and Jorge remained, but a single glare from Draco sent them outside.
The room was dead silent between them, and no one had spoken for the past two minutes.
"You stink," Draco said, sitting opposite Gastone’s chair.
"I believe you have poor taste in fragrances," Gastone replied sarcastically. He pulled his hood backwards to show his face.
Draco scowled upon seeing the big, black bags under Gastone’s eyes and how tired he looked. He knew what had been happening based on the letters sent by Gastone and Navin.
"Do you... need a hug?" Draco asked and opened his arms.
Gastone shivered in disgust. "No," he replied sternly.
"I believe you need it!" Draco chuckled while shaking his head. "So, tell why, what’s going on?" he asked.
Gastone pursed his lips and sighed. "Lucia returned to the human realm. I finally let her go," he inford sadly.
"What do you an by ’let her go’ when you can just follow her if you want," Draco replied in disbelief at what he just heard.
"Lucia personally told how much he hated and disliked . I will never push her to be with if that’s what she feels," Gastone sighed and leaned back while looking at the newly painted wall.
"Hah!? HAHAHA! Oh! My Goddess! You’ve changed! This is worth a celebration!" Draco laughed loudly in amusent. It was so funny that tears appeared from his eyes.
"I’m serious here," Gastone grumbled in annoyance.
"I know. I just rembered how you used to push my wife to beco yours when she rejected you many tis. Ah! You improved so much!" Draco exclaid and gave Gastone a loud clap.
Gastone didn’t know if it was a complint or an insult. He decided to shrug it off, especially his past with Rosina.
"Okay, let’s get serious. Lady Lucia is your mate. No matter how much she hates you. I’m sure she felt sothing romantically, but perhaps suppress it," Draco explained. He had enough hardship from Rosina that he wouldn’t be surprised if that was happening to Gastone.
"Hmm," Gastone humd, thinking about the possibilities. He rembered the other signs that pointed Lucia might be interested in him, but it was too late.
