Alpha King

Marcus???

The thought made my head spin.

Again betrayed?

The man I’d known for the last 5 years. The man I’d raised into who he was.

Maybe he took my mate?

But why?

The thought troubled on many levels.

What other explanation could there be for her earring being in his jeep?

I knew he liked her, and he always tried to tease to see my reaction, but was he stalking her?

I needed to be sure; this could be another setup by the stalker. I already knew this man was clever enough to plant evidence. So, like a maniac, I made a few more calls.

Mom and Brandon looked at with concern, not interrupting until I was ready to speak. Finally, I turned to face them. "I’ll have answers soon. I need more proof."

I took a few long strides, left for so privacy, and entered Mom’s garden. My feet carried to the gazebo. Blue roses still clung to their bamboo supports, and I rembered the kiss Zara and I shared right here.

The pain returned with a vengeance, almost blinding . What wouldn’t I give to kiss her again in this very spot? The phone rang again, interrupting my thoughts.

This ti, it was the call from the IT specialist who had been trying to crack the code for so many days. Swiping quickly, I answered the call. Maybe he finally had answers. My wolf hoped it wasn’t Marcus.

"Alpha, we’ve cracked the code and narrowed down the computer used to hack the system," he said triumphantly.

"Who is it?" I asked.

"It’s Marcus’s computer. I’m not sure if soone else used his computer or..." He didn’t finish the sentence; he didn’t need to.

"Thank you, I’d appreciate it if you could keep this information confidential for now. You may have to provide evidence to the police soon. I’ll be in touch."

"Of course, Alpha. You can count on ." There was pride in his voice when the call ended, but I felt foolish and betrayed.

Marcus, of all people?

I never even suspected him. Not once. Because he helped us in the war a lot.

Was he really that clever with computers?

He was incredibly intelligent, with an IQ of at least 160. I knew that for sure. But did he have stalker tendencies?

Or any disagreents with the Zara family? I knew nothing about Marcus’s family.

I never pushed, never investigated. But the ti had co.

I’ll call another computer specialist who’s always willing to help, I said. "Get all the information on Karen Whittle." She had linked with Marcus.

"I’m working on it."

Ending the call, I leaned against the bamboo pole and hastily dialed Keysir’s number.

He answered the second ring, and I imdiately asked,

"Update?"

"Alpha, I’m trying to gather security footage from the area around the apartnt. The police have already gathered footage from many caras, but I’m trying to see if I can spot the jeep." He paused, then continued. "When I stopped at the coffee shop just around the corner from the building, the security guard asked where I got the jeep. He said he’d seen it a couple of nights ago and wanted to ask the owner, but he was in a hurry."

My wolf sank. What was Marcus doing near Zara’s building? That ant he’d co to see her. Could he have lured her outside?

"Did he see a woman with him? Do they have caras outside?" I asked, pacing the garden restlessly, frantically pushing my hair back with my hands.

"Unfortunately, there were no caras, and he couldn’t see inside the Jeep because of the tinted windows. But he rembered the license plate, and it was the sa Jeep," Kaysir told .

"Keep updated, and don’t say a word to Marcus." Rage overwheld every other emotion in my body.

"Yes, Alpha!" The call ended, and I knew what I had to do.

I was going to get my woman back. The man I trusted had betrayed Zara again and taken her. Ramd her hair, abused her, and Goddess knows what else.

I was going to make his life so miserable he’d regret ever breathing or becoming betrayed Alpha King.

The incident from 12 years ago ca flooding back. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t rember anything about the accident except what a woman, Karen, had told at the hospital.

Sohow, I hit my head so hard that I instantly lost consciousness, suppressing the mory. I only rembered the screeching of the car and sothing red.

Did the woman really orchestrate this accident so she would enter my life? Afterwards, she continued to haunt , saying they saved my life, and I felt very indebted to them. Now the pieces of the puzzle were finally starting to fall into place.

Marcus ca to visit us for Christmas and went upstairs to the bathroom. That’s probably when he planted the masks.

He was always around, constantly hovering around, so it was easy for him.

Damn! I even told most of them myself.

And then this IT specialist sent information about the woman.

I read it and was completely baffled. She worked as a secretary for Doran Blackthorn, the man Zara’s uncle wanted Zara’s mother to be his mate.

This man was an abuser and even kidnapped Zara’s mom when she was pregnant with Zara, but Demons Alpha saved his mate.

Karen Whittle spent several months in prison for her role in Doran’s cris. And then I clicked on Doran Blackthorn’s photo.

Marcus Whittle was the spitting image of this man. It didn’t take a genius to put two and two together.

Marcus wasn’t Alpha’s son; he was Doran’s illegitimate son and was thirsty for revenge in his father’s na. The truth was right in front of . There was no longer any doubt.

This bastard had ssed with the wrong wolf. He only saw my sympathy for him; it was ti to show how dark my heart was.

I dialed another number and said, "I need two fake passports."

Having finished the conversation, I burst into the house and found Brandon engrossed in conversation with my mother. Both of them had such gloomy expressions that I realized they were worried about .

Seeing approaching, they fell silent. I stopped right in front of them and addressed my brother:

"Brandon, we’re leaving the pack. Pack your things."
